2024 World Wide Technology Championship: Prize money, TV coverage, who’s in the field and more

The PGA Tour is on to Mexico.

After a week off, the PGA Tour’s is back for a three-event stretch to conclude its 2024 season.

The 2024 World Wide Technology Championship gets underway Thursday in Mexico, and it’s the second year the event has been at Tiger Woods’ El Cardonal at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas. In a bunker on the first hole is a plaque to “commemorate” the inaugural tee shot hit by Woods in December of 2014.

The WWTC is the sixth PGA Tour event of eight in the fall slate. After this week, the Tour heads to Bermuda before the season-ending RSM Classic, the final chance for players to secure their spots in the top 125.

From TV coverage to field information and prize money, here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 World Wide Technology Championship.

World Wide Technology Championship course information

El Cardonal at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico is a par-72 layout measuring 7,452 yards. Tiger Woods was the architect. This will be the second time the tournament is held at El Cardonal.

The purse at the 2024 Zozo Championship is $7.2 million with a first-place prize of $1.296 million. Five of the eight Fall series events have smaller purses from a year ago, including the WWTC, which is down $1 million.

2024 Toto Japan Classic prize money payouts for every LPGA player

Here’s a look at the prize money payouts for each player at the 2024 Toto Japan Classic from a purse of $2 million.

What a week for Japanese star Rio Takeda.

Takeda outdueled Marina Alex in a six-hole playoff to win the 2024 Toto Japan Classic, her eighth victor this year on the JLPGA Tour and her first on the LPGA.

She is ranked No. 25 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings and because of her win at the TOTO Japan Classic, a co-sanctioned event with the LPGA and JLPGA Tours, she is eligible for LPGA membership. She is eligible to accept immediate membership or, similarly to Mone Inami after the 2023 TOTO Japan Classic, she can defer to the 2025 LPGA season.

If Takeda accepts immediate LPGA membership, she will earn $300,000 towards her official and career earnings on the LPGA this year.

2024 Genesis Championship prize money payouts for every player in South Korea

For his efforts, An will bank $680,000 out of the $4 million purse.

A pair of familiar faces battled it out down the stretch in South Korea.

Ben An topped fellow Korean and International Presidents Cup teammate Tom Kim on the first playoff hole Sunday to take home the 2024 Genesis Championship on the DP World Tour. When Kim found himself in trouble in the playoff, An converted a birdie opportunity to earn his second DP World Tour victory at Jack Nicklaus Golf Club Korea in Incheon.

For his efforts, An will bank $680,000 out of the $4 million purse. Kim isn’t going home empty handed, either.

Here’s a look at the prize money payouts for every golfer at the Genesis Championship.
