March Madness: Princeton vs. Creighton odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Princeton vs. Creighton odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 15th-seeded Princeton Tigers (23-8) battle the No. 6-seed Creighton Bluejays (23-12) Friday in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA Tournament. Tip from KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky., is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET (TBS). Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Princeton vs. Creighton odds as we make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Princeton has become the Cinderella team of the tournament with wins against 2nd-seeded Arizona (59-55 as a 15-point underdog) in the first round and 7th-seeded Missouri in the second round (78-63 as a 6-point underdog). The Tigers have won 8 of their last 10 games and are 8-2 against the spread (ATS) in that span to improve to 17-12 ATS this season.

Creighton knocked off No. 11 seed NC State (72-63 as a 5.5-point favorite) in the first round and took down No. 3 seed Baylor (85-76 as a 1.5-point favorite) in the second round. The Bluejays are 6-4 straight up and ATS in their last 10 games, improving to 18-17 ATS on the year.

Princeton vs. Creighton picks and predictions

Prediction

Creighton 77, Princeton 69

Moneyline

PASS.

There’s no real profit to be made on a likely Creighton (-525) win Friday, and I’d like to see more value before taking Princeton (+425) outright for a 3rd upset.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread

BET PRINCETON +9.5 (-102).

Princeton has had an impressive tournament showing thus far and it will not go down without a fight. The Tigers are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following an ATS victory and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 NCAA Tournament games. Seven players have scored in both of their wins as the Tigers have received meaningful contributions from their bench and should do so again Friday.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 140.5 (-110).

Princeton started to find its offensive identity again against Missouri scoring 78 points with 3 players hitting double-digit scoring and 3 more that scored 8 or 9 points. While the Under has hit in its 2 previous games, the line is lower in this game and Princeton will need to push the pace to maintain a chance for an upset.

The Over is 8-3 in the Bluejays’ last 11 neutral-site games and hit in their last game against Baylor by 17.5 points. They are an offensive-minded team that is 22nd in KenPom’s adjusted offensive efficiency rankings.

Expect a high-scoring affair to decide who will ultimately earn a spot in the Elite 8.

March Madness: Princeton vs. Missouri odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Princeton vs. Missouri NCAA Tournament odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 15th-seeded Princeton Tigers (22-8) and 7th-seeded Missouri Tigers (25-9) meet Saturday in a 2nd Round matchup in the NCAA Tournament. Tip from Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Calif. is scheduled for approximately 6:10 p.m. ET (TNT). Let’s analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Princeton vs. Missouri odds as we make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Tigers of Princeton crushed brackets everywhere with a 59-55 win over the 2nd-seeded Arizona Wildcats Thursday as a 15-point underdog. Princeton has ripped off 5 straight wins, including 2 in the Ivy League Tournament, and it has covered 5 consecutive outings, too.

Princeton shot 41% from the field (26-of-64), while hitting just 25% (4-of-16) from behind the 3-point arc. The smallish Tigers only got to the free-throw line 5 times, too, converting 3 of them.

The good is that Tosan Evboumwan was productive, posting 15 points with 7 rebounds and a blocked shot, and Princeton was somehow even with Arizona in rebounding at 35, despite the big size advantage for the Wildcats.

The Tigers of Missouri hope to be on the winning end of this Tiger Bowl. It rolled past Utah State 76-65 as a 1.5-point underdog despite being the higher seed. It used that disrespect as apparent fuel. The Under (155) cashed, too, and is now 6-3 in the past 9 games overall.

Missouri shot 51% (27-of-53) from the field, and a blistering 40% (10-of-25) from behind the 3-point line. It turned it over just 9 times, making up for the fact it was outrebounded 31-to-25.

Princeton vs. Missouri picks and predictions

Prediction

Missouri 81, Princeton 76

Moneyline

Missouri (-270) will cost you nearly 3 times your potential return, and that’s just too expensive for a singular wager. Even as part of a multi-team parlay, including Mizzou sucks the value out of your ticket.

AVOID.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread

Roll with PRINCETON +6.5 (-110) and the points, as these Tigers are writing quite a tale so far in this tournament.

Princeton handled the twin towers of Azuolas Tubelis and Oumar Ballo with aplomb, and now it should match up well with Missouri, a team that likes to play more of an up-tempo game like Princeton.

Over/Under

The OVER 148.5 (-108) seems like a high number, but it’s the best play.

According to covers.com, Princeton went for 76.0 PPG during the regular season, while allowing 68.6 PPG. The only concern is that Princeton managed a dismal 71.2% from the free-throw line, leaving a lot of points on the floor, which is maddening to Over bettors.

Mizzou racked up 80.1 PPG in the regular season, and it’s a good 3-point shooting team at 36.2%. And the Tigers exceeded that mark against Utah State, hitting at a 40.0% clip. Missouri was one of the worst defensive teams in the SEC, too, so this could be quite the track meet.

March Madness: Princeton vs. Arizona odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Princeton vs. Arizona odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The 15-seed Princeton Tigers (21-8) face the 2-seed Arizona Wildcats (28-6) Thursday in a first round South Region game in the NCAA Tournament. Tip-off from Golden 1 Center in Sacramento is scheduled for approximately 4:10 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Princeton vs. Arizona odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Princeton enters the tournament on a 4-game win streak, and has won 7 of its last 9 games with a 7-2 against the spread (ATS) mark, while cashing the Over in 9 of the last 11 contests.

Princeton won and covered in each of its Ivy League Tournament games, while hitting the Over in both outings. And while it matched up well against Penn and Yale, facing Arizona is a whole different animal.

The 3 main forwards for the Tigers – Tosan Evbuomwan, Keeshawn Kellman, and Caden Pierce – are listed at 6-foot-9 or less. The Wildcats have both Azuolas Tubelis (6-foot-11) and Oumar Ballo (7-foot-0) clogging up the middle.

[afflinkbutton text=”Watch Arizona vs Princeton link=”https://sling-tv.pxf.io/KjKy3A”]

Princeton might be forced to try to score from the perimeter, and that’s not really its game. The Tigers hit just 34.2% from behind the arc, which was rather middling by national standards. In addition, the Wildcats limit teams to just 41.0% from the field, and 32.8% from the perimeter.

Arizona averaged 83.1 PPG and 49.3% field-goal percentage on offense, which was ranked in the Top 10 nationally. It also shoots a healthy 37.8% on 3-pointers.

Princeton vs. Arizona picks and predictions

Prediction

Arizona 86, Princeton 67

Moneyline

Arizona (-1200) will cost you 12 times your potential return, and that is not a good betting strategy for either a standalone bet, or part of multi-team parlay. There is just no value betting such heavy favorites straight up.

AVOID.

Stream select live college basketball games and full replays: Get ESPN+

Against the spread

ARIZONA -14.5 (-110) will have a tremendous size advantage, forcing Princeton +14.5 (-110) outside. Unless Tubelis and/or Ballo get into foul trouble, it’s going to be impossible for the Tigers to get points in or near the paint.

There have been a lot of talking heads saying the legendary Pete Carill style is back at Princeton, but don’t get suckered in. This team is undersized, and overmatched, and the Pac-12 Tournament champs are going to take it to them early and often. It’s actually rather shocking that this line isn’t as high as 20 or so. Take advantage.

Over/Under

UNDER 154.5 (-115) is worth a look, as Princeton is likely to struggle putting points on the board.

While the Over is 9-2 in the last 11 games for the Tigers, that’s against teams or equal or smaller size. Arizona is bigger, stronger and faster, and Princeton will be in a whirlwind in this first-round matchup.

While the Over is 7-3 in the last 10 games overall for the Wildcats, it might take 90 or more points from them to get this game into the Over range. I don’t think the Wildcats run it up on the Tigers, and rag the clock with a large 2nd-half lead instead. The Under is 3-1-2 in the last 6 NCAA Tournament games for Arizona, too.

Ivy League Tournament: Yale at Princeton odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Yale at Princeton odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The top-seeded Yale Bulldogs (21-7) and No. 2 Princeton Tigers (20-8) meet in the cats-and-dogs finale of the Ivy League Tournament Sunday. The contest at Jadwin Gymnasium in Princeton will tip off at noon ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Yale vs. Princeton odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Yale defeated No. 4 Cornell 80-60 Saturday and is looking to return to the NCAA Tournament for a 2nd straight year. The Bulldogs went 10-4 in league play; they are 10-1 in their last 11 games. Princeton defeated No. 3 Penn 77-70 on Saturday and is looking to get back to the Big Dance for the 1st time since 2017.

Princeton tied Yale for the regular-season title, but the Tigers were swept twice by the Bulldogs — 87-65 on Jan. 28 as 3.5-point road favorites as the 138.5 Under hit and 93-83 in overtime on Feb. 18 as a 2.5-point road underdog as the 142.5 Over cashed.

Yale at Princeton picks and predictions

Prediction

Yale 72, Princeton 67

Moneyline

PASS.

Yale should win, but better value can be had on the spread.

Against the spread

Yale is 17-1-1 ATS this season and has won 3 in a row ATS against these Tigers. The Bulldogs have won 4 straight ATS against winning teams.

The Tigers are usually more capable against lesser defenses. The Bulldogs own the best defense in the Ivy League. When it is on defense, PU likes to force teams into a lot of outside shots. But Yale does well to create quality looks inside.

Princeton figures to have an edge in free-throw frequency (PU had 3 FT attempts in the 20-point loss and 31 in the over time game), but the Tigers can mitigate that and more from distance in in the turnover exchange.

Yale struggled at Jadwin in the Feb. 18 meeting (down by 19 with 8 minutes to go before rallying to win in OT), but look for a rebound here. BACK THE BULLDOGS -3.5 (-105).

Ivy League Championship: Yale vs. Princeton odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Yale vs. Princeton Ivy League Championship odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions, best bets.

The Yale Bulldogs (18-11) face the Princeton Tigers (23-5) Sunday in the Ivy League Tournament Final. Tip-off from the Lavietes Pavilion in Cambridge, Mass., is slated for noon ET (ESPN2). Below, we look at the Yale vs. Princeton odds and lines, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

The Bulldogs picked up a 67-61 to oust Penn in the Ivy League semifinals Saturday, setting up a date with old friend Princeton. Yale lost at home to Princeton 81-75 Feb. 19, but the Elis won in New Jersey against the Tigers by an 80-74 score Jan. 29. The Over cashed in each of the two regular-season meetings.

The Tigers were given all they could handle in their Saturday semifinal against Cornell, finally putting the Big Red away 77-73 but failing to cover as 6.5-point favorites. Princeton enters on an eight-game win streak, going 5-3 ATS during the span, including 1-3 ATS in its last four contests.

Yale vs. Princeton odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Princeton 76, Yale 69

Money line

This isn’t your dad’s PRINCETON (-175) team, led by former head coach Pete Carril, with the low-scoring games, the weave, the backdoor cuts, etc. … These Tigers are flying, rolling up 80.6 points per game (PPG) to rank eighth in the nation.

The Tigers also shot 49.0%, good for eighth in the land, while posting a 38.8% mark from behind the arc to rank seventh. Oddly enough, they struggle from the line, shooting just 64.8% – ranking 348th – which can be their undoing at any moment. Still, the Tigers are easily good enough to get it done here.

Against the spread

PRINCETON -3.5 (-108) is the play to cash a winning ticket in the title game. Yale features a tough defense, which will offer plenty of resistance. The Elis have yielded 65 or fewer points in six of their past nine games. However, Princeton dropped 81 on them Feb. 19 in New Haven, and the Tigers won’t be denied here.

Over/Under

The OVER 141.5 (-115) is the lean, but play it lightly. Yale enters on a 4-0 Under streak, while hitting below the total in seven of the past nine games overall.

Of course, one of the two Over results was against Princeton in the most recent meeting.

The Tigers have cashed the Over just three times in the past eight outings, so it isn’t a slam-dunk play by any means. However, this team is good for 74 or more points in five straight, and 11 of the past 12 contests overall.
