Ducks of a Feather to release ‘Tech Fleece Legacy’ apparel collection ahead of Pre Classic

New Ducks of a Feather gear, fresh on the shelves. Get it while it lasts!

Building off the massive success of the Air Max 1 ‘University of Oregon’ PE, Division Street’s ‘Ducks of a Feather’ is back with another release this week that is surely to make waves in the athleisure industry.

On Wednesday, Division Street announced that ‘Ducks of a Feather,’ a new brand featuring original apparel and footwear collaborations that are promoted by and provide revenue opportunities for the University of Oregon student-athletes, is unveiling a line of Tech Fleece Legacy apparel ahead of the coming Prefontaine Classic in Eugene.

The Tech Fleece Legacy collection will be available starting May 24 with proceeds supporting participating U of O student-athletes.

According to Division Street the collection contains a two items — a men’s jacket called “Vintage Duck” and a women’s version labeled “The Power of Flight.” The goal behind it was to “speak to Oregon athletes of the past who have left their unique legacy on the university while inspiring new athletes and students to create their own legacy in sport, academics and life,” Division Street wrote in a release.

“Vintage Duck pays homage to Oregon marks of the past and present and has a vintage collegiate aesthetic,” DOAF wrote of the black Tech Fleece. “Color is grounded in black with Oregon green accents and monochromatic treatments. The oversized OREGON on the chest is inspired by the iconic Prefontaine singlet. Overlapping patches and applications feel considered and random simultaneously, as if personalized for the wearer. The racing stripe down the back of the jacket is a nod to collegiate uniforms and evokes racing-stripe-like speed. Embroidered logos, 3D patches, and satin borders create dimension and texture on the garment. The interior of the jacket features a stitched-in, jersey liner with a proud Oregon and DOAF read.”

“The Power of Flight is inspired by the idea of leaving the nest and starting a new journey to shape the future,” DOAF wrote. “The duck in flight is the focal point, flanked by Oregon heritage marks. The color is rooted in tones of grey with highlights of Oregon yellow and golden hues. The oversized duck on the back of the garment is constructed from sheer fabric and embroidered with the duck sketch for a luxury, fashion aesthetic. Texture and layering is achieved with a mix of fabrics and applications. The stripe on the sleeve and back of the garment is a nod to collegiate uniforms. Fabric is stitched onto the garment and appears ribbon-like in application with a feminine, golden tone. The interior of the jacket features a stitched-in, jersey liner. Oversized Oregon and DOAF logos are nestled inside the landscape of a duck in flight.”

Ducks of a Feather’s Tech Fleece Legacy Collection will be available for purchase in very limited quantities on May 24 on ducksofafeather.xyz and at The Nest in Eugene, Ore. Product retails for $245 per piece, and proceeds support participating University of Oregon student-athletes.

Sha’Carri Richardson sent a message to her Olympic competition ahead of the Prefontaine Classic

This is going to be so good.

We missed out on a potentially incredible 100 metre Finals at the Olympics this year with Sha’Carri Richardson’s absence.

The American track star was suspended from the competition after she tested positive for marijuana in a drug test she took during Olympic trials.

She’d explained that she was coping with the loss of her biological mother just before trials began and was struggling mentally. Despite her struggles, however, her 100 metre trial time of 10.72 was invalidated because of the test and she was disqualified from the Olympic competition. It was heartbreaking to see. None of it felt fair.

But, very soon, we’ll get a chance to see the Olympic Final that wasn’t.

Sha’Carri will race against Elaine Thompson-Herah, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Shericka Jackson in the Prefontaine Classic on August 21. She’ll face up against the entire Olympic podium, among others. That’s pretty exciting.

Richardson had shared a message for her competition via social media. She took a popular Nicki Minaj clip and put it to good use.

Warning: There is some NSFW language in this video

The clip goes:

“I took some time of to rest and now it’s gametime, [expletive]. You have no idea.”

Those are some pretty confident words from a rightfully confident sprinter. Richardson posted the 6th fastest 100m time ever in her 10.72 run for trials. But, of course, Fraser-Pryce and Thompson-Herah already eclipsed that this year. So the competition is obviously stiff.

All this means is that we’re all in for a pretty incredible race. I can’t wait.
