Patrick Mahomes earned Chiefs’ postseason rushing record vs. Dolphins

Patrick Mahomes now has the most postseason rushing yards in #Chiefs history after his dominant performance against the #Dolphins.

Patrick Mahomes is known for his ability to move the ball through the air in the Kansas City Chiefs offense, but his work on the ground proved to be the difference against the Miami Dolphins in Saturday’s AFC Wild Card showdown.

With 41 yards rushing, Mahomes spearheaded the Chiefs’ offensive attack with Isiah Pacheco in brutally cold conditions at Arrowhead Stadium. The pair combined to pick up 130 hard-fought yards on the ground to help Kansas City clinch a 26-7 victory.

According to the Chiefs’ game notes, the reigning MVP’s efforts were enough to earn him a top spot on Kansas City’s franchise leaderboard for the postseason. He passed legendary running back Marcus Allen to sit alone atop the list of Chiefs greats with 425 career postseason rushing yards.

While Kansas City isn’t likely to continue relying on Mahomes to win games with his feet, Andy Reid and the Chiefs coaching staff will be sure to take efforts like the one he put together against Miami whenever they can get them.
