Colts’ updated needs entering Day 2 of NFL draft

With a QB in tow, the list of needs for the Colts gets updated.

The Indianapolis Colts addressed the biggest need on their roster Thursday night by selecting quarterback Anthony Richardson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

Though owner Jim Irsay had jokes about potentially taking Will Levis in the second round (we think he’s joking), the Colts will have plenty of chances to add some starting-caliber players on Day 2.

Currently holding two selections—Nos. 35 and 79—on Day 2, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Colts looked to move back from one of those picks in order to add a bit more capital. They also could just hold considering the amount of strong prospects currently on the board.

Before Day 2 gets underway, here’s a quick look at the updated list of needs for the Colts:

2021 NFL draft: Ranking Washington’s position group needs ahead of April

Washington has a great young core, and they can build on that by focusing on these positions of need in the coming 2021 NFL Draft.

There are a number of ways that Washington can and should look to improve their roster this coming offseason, but one of the most entertaining modes is through the NFL Draft.

Not only does the draft give us a weekend-long event that we all get to look forward to in the middle of the offseason like an oasis in a dry desert, but it also allows us to spend the ensuing months studying it and delving through mocks, looking to see which players might be suiting up for our favorite squads in the years to come.

For Washington, a young core is already in place, and while there are some great spots for free-agent additions, nothing quite hits like a young prospect who can produce right off the bat. Here is our ranking of the biggest position needs for Washington to fill in the draft this year.

Redskins biggest needs entering Day 3 of 2020 NFL Draft

The Redskins didn’t exactly pick for need in the first two days of the 2020 NFL Draft, so they’ll have a lot of work to do on Saturday.

With two of their seven total picks off the board, the Washington Redskins have a lot of work to do on Saturday if they are going to adequately fill out their roster needs in the 2020 NFL Draft.

While their first two picks have been very well-received by the fanbase, to say the least. neither of them did a whole lot to satisfy positions of need. Taking Chase Young with the No. 2 overall pick was the easy choice, as he was the best player in the draft and the team could add him to an already stacked defensive line for free. However, with the No. 66 pick, the Redskins surprised a few people by drafting RB Antonio Gibson, out of Memphis. If you look past the position designation and the early selection of a RB, you’ll find that Gibson is an extremely talented player who can spread out wide and make a difference in the passing game as well. But to the naked eye, it first appeared like Washington reached for a running back when there were valuable players at positions of need on the board.

So as they enter the Day 3 action on Saturday with the second pick coming off the board in the fourth round, what positions might the Redskins take a look at drafting? Here’s our ranking of needs for the final day of the draft.

No. 1 — Tight End

Notre Dame’s Cole Kmet was the first TE taken off the board, and UCLA’s Devin Asiasi, Virginia’s Dalton Keene, and Dayton’s Adam Trautman followed suit, but for the most part, there are still a number of solid TE prospects left on the board. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Washington take a TE with their first pick on Saturday, but if they don’t there’s no way they make it out of the fourth round without one.

11 positions of need for Broncos this offseason

The Broncos have 11 positions that should be upgraded during the NFL offseason.

Broncos general manager John Elway will have plenty of salary cap space and up to a dozen draft picks to work with this offseason. That’s good because Denver has plenty of positions that could use an upgrade.

Here’s a quick look at 11 positions the Broncos should target this offseason, starting with the offensive line.

1. Offensive tackle: Even if Denver plans to enter 2020 with Ja’Wuan James and Garett Bolles as starters, the Broncos need more depth at tackle. James has not proven he can stay healthy and Bolles has failed to live up to his first-round draft status.

2. Offensive guard: Dalton Risner is a gem but Denver needs a potential Ron Leary replacement at right guard. The Broncos could move on from Leary and save about $8.4 million in salary cap space this spring.

3. Cornerback: Chris Harris might be on his way out of Denver and even if the Broncos do re-sign Harris, the secondary will need more depth at cornerback. If healthy, Bryce Callahan could be one of the team’s top two cornerbacks but Vic Fangio’s defense will need at least one more.

4. Nose tackle: Shelby Harris is about to become a free agent and he’s best-suited to play defensive end, not nose tackle. One option for Denver would be to bring back true nose tackle Mike Purcell, who is about to become a restricted free agent.

5. Wide receiver: Courtland Sutton looked great this year but DaeSean Hamilton is yet to step up and prove he can be a No. 2 WR. Even if Hamilton does take a big leap in 2020, the Broncos will need more depth.
