Ayo Dosunmu leads the way in Bulls win over Trail Blazers

Ayo Dosunmu led the way for the Chicago Bulls in their win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night.

The Chicago Bulls are fighting for their place in the 9-10 Play-In game against the Atlanta Hawks. Whoever finished the season as the ninth seed will get homecourt advantage in that game. The Bulls walked into Monday night looking for their second win in a row against a bottom-feeding squad. They beat the Washington Wizards on Saturday, and on Monday, they took on the Portland Trail Blazers.

Both squads are in line to have top-five picks in the NBA Draft this summer, so the Bulls were favored in both games. Chicago pulled out a win over Portland on Monday night, and it was Ayo Dosunmu who led the way.

The CHGO Sports YouTube channel discussed Dosunmu’s performance in the win once the game wrapped up.

Dosunmu ended the game against Portland with 23 points, one rebound, 10 assists, and one steal while shooting 9-of-17 from the field and 2-of-6 from behind the three-point line.

Bulls barely scrape out win over rebuilding Trail Blazers

The Chicago Bulls pulled out a win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night.

In Monday’s night game against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Chicago Bulls were up by as many as 16 points in the third quarter. The Locked On Bulls podcast discussed the win afterward.

DeMar DeRozan led the way for Chicago with 28 points. In addition, Ayo Dosunmu poured in 23 points, and Nikola Vucevic added 22 of his own.

Meanwhile, Simons finished with 30 points, and Deandre Ayton scored 25.

PHOTOS: Boston at Portland – Celtics extinguish Blazers 121-99 on the road

Let’s take a look at some of the best moments captured in images in the Celtics’ 63rd game of the 2023-24 NBA season vs. the Blazers.

The Boston Celtics likely did not expect to have their hands full against the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center on Monday night, and for the most part, they were right about that. The Blazers kept the game close throughout most of the first frame, but Boston broke it open for good by the end of the quarter in a contest they never trailed by more than 2 points.

The Celtics won the battle of the boards 45-39, the march of dimes 34-22, blocks 10 to 5, and turned the ball over just 3 times to Portland’s 11. Boston would lead the Blazers by as much as 24 points, but ended the contest with a 121-99 win.

Let’s take a look at some of the best moments captured in images in the Celtics’ 63rd game of the 2023-24 NBA season vs. the Blazers.

Chauncey Billups praises Scoot Henderson in return: I thought he was really good

Scoot Henderson returned from an eight-game absence and helped the Trail Blazers defeat the Raptors in overtime.

Rookie Scoot Henderson returned from an eight-game absence on Saturday and helped the Portland Trail Blazers defeat the Toronto Raptors in overtime at the Moda Center.

Henderson produced 13 points, five assists, one rebound and one steal in the 128-118 victory. He went 5-of-12 from the field, including 1-of-4 from 3-point range, off the bench as the Trail Blazers snapped a three-game losing streak.

The third pick scored 11 points in the first half to help the Trail Blazers get off to a quick start in the contest. He continued a streak of seven consecutive games in double figures.

Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups liked what he saw in his return.

“I was happy for Scoot because he hasn’t been able to actually play basketball,” Billups said. “He has been able to work out; those are two different things. His fire was awesome. His passion was really good. His pace was really, really good. His defense was good. He was physical. I thought Scoot was really good.”

Henderson, who logged 26 minutes, had been sidelined since Feb. 23 with a left adductor strain. He wasn’t able to practice with the team and only recently started doing on-court work and other related activities.

The 20-year-old is averaging 12.9 points, 4.7 assists and 2.9 rebounds on 37.6% shooting from the field in 44 games with the Trail Blazers. He is fifth among rookies in scoring and one of six first-year players with multiple 30-point games (2).

Billups named Henderson the starting point guard prior to his injury setback. With 19 games remaining, the team may look to ease him back before inserting him into the starting lineup again to ensure he can finish the season on a high note.

Bismack Biyombo cleared of serious medical issues after collapse, will be further evaluated

Bismack Biyombo cleared of any serious medical issues following fall, will be further evaluated.

During the first quarter of the Oklahoma City Thunder’s road contest against the Portland Trail Blazers, Bismack Biyombo fainted and fell backward as his teammates returned to the sidelines from a timeout.

The 31-year-old quickly regained consciousness and walked to the locker room for an evaluation.

Thankfully, the Trail Blazers physicians cleared him of any serious medical issues, per Thunder reporter Nick Gallo. The Thunder will rest him for the rest of the contest out of precaution as they will further evaluate him in the coming days.

This is great news to hear from a scary situation. The veteran center was a late addition to the Thunder roster after he was waived by the Memphis Grizzlies earlier this season.

Following the Thunder’s win over the Trail Blazers, Daigneault said that Biyombo was in good spirits at halftime, making jokes with his teammates.

UPDATE: Biyombo took to social media to address everybody who was concerned following his collapse. In the video, he stated he is fine and appreciates everybody who reached out to him. He also said he will not miss any time following the scary situation.

Trail Blazers’ Chauncey Billups offers possible Scoot Henderson return date

Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups said rookie Scoot Henderson is close to returning from a left adductor strain.

Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups said rookie Scoot Henderson is close to returning from a left adductor strain, according to Sean Highkin of the Rose Garden Report.

Henderson last played on Feb. 15 and will miss his seventh straight game on Wednesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder. He recently returned to on-court activities and was seen pregame going through various shooting and dribbling workouts.

The Trail Blazers hope to get him back in the lineup on Friday against the Houston Rockets or Saturday against the Toronto Raptors as they continue a six-game homestand at the Moda Center.

Henderson is averaging 12.9 points, 4.7 assists and three rebounds on 37.5% shooting from the field in 43 games with the Trail Blazers. He is fourth among rookies in scoring and one of six first-year players with multiple 30-point games (2).

The third pick has missed time throughout the year due to injuries. He was sidelined for nine games at the start of the season because of an ankle sprain and two games before the All-Star break with a foot sprain before his latest setback.

The organization is pleased with how Henderson has progressed to this point and how he handles the workload at the point guard position. He is viewed as a franchise cornerstone, so the team will look to ease him back into action over the last stretch of the season.
