2022 World Cup: France vs. Poland odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s France vs. Poland odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

France and Poland meet Sunday in the Round of 16 at Al Thumama Stadium. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. ET (FS1). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the France vs. Poland odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

France won Group D with just 6 points after losing as a -260 favorite 1-0 vs. Tunisia Wednesday. The reigning champions sent out a squad made up of mostly back-up players as their 6-match win streak at the World Cup came to an end.

Paris Saint-Germain F Kylian Mbappé leads Les Bleus with 3 goals and is favored to finish as France’s top goal scorer at -699. AC Milan F Olivier Giroud (2 goals) has the 2nd-best odds at +500.

Poland played runner-up to Argentina in Group C finishing with 4 points after a 2-0 loss to La Albiceleste Wednesday. Juventus G Wojciech Szczesny saved a F Lionel Messi penalty in the 1st half, but eventually conceded 2 goals as Argentina outshot Poland 23-4 with 12 on target vs. Poland’s 0.

Barcelona F Robert Lewandowski (-300) and Napoli M Piotr Zieliński (+220) have the best odds to finish as Poland’s top goal scorer and have both scored 1 goal each.

Prediction

France 3, Poland 1

Moneyline (ML)

France (-320) is a top-4 team in the world and should have no problem winning in regulation vs. Poland. However, risking over 3 times your potential profit is a little unnecessary when France should win by multiple goals. I expect France to bounce back after a disappointing result vs. Tunisia and make a statement against an outmatched Poland squad.

BET FRANCE -1 (-109).

Over/Under (O/U)

Both teams’ offenses looked miserable in their most recent matches. France couldn’t score vs. Tunisia and Poland couldn’t even get a shot on target vs. Argentina. I expect both of these squads to be much more aggressive Sunday with some of the best strikers in the world on the pitch in Lewandowski, Mbappé and Giroud.

BET OVER 2.5 (-115).

2022 World Cup: Poland vs. Argentina odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Poland vs. Argentina odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In a Group C stage match, Poland (1 win, 0 losses, 1 draw) and Argentina (1-1-0) meet Wednesday at Stadium 974 in Doha at 2 p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Poland vs. Argentina odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Poland opened its World Cup with a scoreless draw against Mexico, before posting a 2-0 victory over Saudi Arabia Saturday. MF Piotr Zielinski scored at 39′, before superstar F Robert Lewandowski posted his 1st career World Cup goal at 82′. Lewandowski also has an assist through 2 matches.

Argentina was stunned 2-1 by Saudi Arabia in its opening match before rebounding with a resounding 2-0 victory over Mexico Saturday. F Lionel Messi gave the Argies the lead at 64′, before MF Enzo Fernandez struck for the insurance marker at 87′.

Poland currently sits atop the Group C table with 4 points and a goal differential of plus-2, while Argentina is right behind with 3 points and a plus-1 GD. It’s tied with the Saudis, who have 3 points with a minus-1 GD and play Mexico (1 point, -2 GD) Wednesday.

Prediction

Argentina 1, Poland 1

Moneyline (ML)

A DRAW (+350) is likely to not only get table-topper Poland through, but Argentina will likely get through with a draw, too.

Unless Mexico was to absolutely hammer Saudi Arabia, it’s unlikely to leap frog either of these teams. The only threat is Saudi Arabia, if it can pull another stunner and drop Mexico. That would put the pressure on Poland and Argentina to get through with a win. There will be a lot of scoreboard watching, as the matches are played simultaneously.

POLAND +2 (-160) is also worth a roll of the dice as it is unlikely to get its doors blown off. It’s a safe enough margin for Poland, which has a handful of high-octane offensive players to keep pace with Argentina.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 2.5 (-140) is the play as this match should be low scoring.

Poland has registered 2 total goals through 2 matches, while it has yet to concede a goal, and Argentina has hit the back of the net 3 times while allowing just 2 markers. Look for another defensive slog.

2022 World Cup: Mexico vs. Poland odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Poland vs. Mexico odds and lines, with World Cup soccer expert picks, predictions and best bets.

In a Group C group stage opener for both sides, Mexico and Poland meet Tuesday at Stadium 974 in Doha, Qatar, at 11 a.m. ET (FOX and Telemundo). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Mexico vs. Poland odds, and make our best World Cup bets, picks and predictions.

Mexico is back at the World Cup, and El Tri is looking to make noise with a new generation of stars. In particular, Edson Alvarez and Hirving Lozano are players to watch as they look to make their marks on the world stage.

For Poland, Robert Lewandowski will be of particular interest to Mexico, as he is easily the most recognizable name for the Poles, but Piotr Zielinski is also a player on the rise.

Mexico is No. 9 in the FIFA world rankings while Poalnd is No. 24.

Prediction

Mexico 1, Poland 1

Moneyline (ML)

These 2 sides are likely to be jockeying for position behind Argentina for the all-important 2nd-place spot in Group C, looking to advance out of the group stage as Saudi Arabia is not expected to be much of a threat.

This is a very important early match for both sides, and neither is expected to take unnecessary chances. Look for both Mexico and Poland to play safe, picking up a satisfying DRAW (+200) to open their World Cup 2022.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-175) is fairly expensive, but it will be worth the risk.

Mexico will want to play keep away from Poland, trying to deny the dangerous Lewandowski his 1st-ever World Cup goal. El Tri likes to maintain possession, and it isn’t terribly keen on pushing the pace. This is a strong defensive side, but not a terribly high-octane offense.

Poland will be rather frustrated trying to gain possession. Last time out, Poland topped Chile 1-0 in an international friendly on Nov. 16. And we have seen Under 2.5 goals in 4 straight matches for Poland across all competitions.

And, for what it’s worth, in 3 all-time meetings between Mexico and Poland, Under 2.5 goals has cashed every time.
