Prediction

Mexico 1, Poland 1

Moneyline (ML)

These 2 sides are likely to be jockeying for position behind Argentina for the all-important 2nd-place spot in Group C, looking to advance out of the group stage as Saudi Arabia is not expected to be much of a threat.

This is a very important early match for both sides, and neither is expected to take unnecessary chances. Look for both Mexico and Poland to play safe, picking up a satisfying DRAW (+200) to open their World Cup 2022.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-175) is fairly expensive, but it will be worth the risk.

Mexico will want to play keep away from Poland, trying to deny the dangerous Lewandowski his 1st-ever World Cup goal. El Tri likes to maintain possession, and it isn’t terribly keen on pushing the pace. This is a strong defensive side, but not a terribly high-octane offense.

Poland will be rather frustrated trying to gain possession. Last time out, Poland topped Chile 1-0 in an international friendly on Nov. 16. And we have seen Under 2.5 goals in 4 straight matches for Poland across all competitions.

And, for what it’s worth, in 3 all-time meetings between Mexico and Poland, Under 2.5 goals has cashed every time.
