Pokémon GO: Mega Aerodactyl Raid counters

The best Pokémon to fight against Mega Aerodactyl with in Pokémon GO.

Mega Aerodactyl has been unleashed in Pokémon GO and nests in the Mega Raids. In this guide, we’ll show you how to tame the flying dinosaur. Mega Aerodactyl ensures that every Pokémon category in Pokémon GO has a Mega evolution – the primeval flyer has immediately risen to become the best Rock-type attacker for Raids and will be a strong addition to your team. In the long run, new Mega Evolutions and even some Shadow Pokémon will overshadow the Fossil creature, but Mega Aerodactyl could become an important part of your Raid activities for a long time to come. To be able to evolve your own Mega Aerodactyl, you need the Mega Energy for the species – you can get that from Mega Raids.

Make sure to take a look at our complete Raid Counters guide so you know everything you need to take on these events.

Pokémon GO players walked a few billion miles in 2021 to catch them all

Everyone wants to be the best like no one ever was.

If it wasn’t obvious by now, Pokémon GO  is huge. Like, really big. So massive that its players looped around the earth many times over to catch their favorite pocket monsters.

Niantic, the company behind  Pokémon GO  and Ingress, shared its 2021 year in review results. There were several interesting metrics inside, including that players walked 6.93 billion kilometers ( roughly 4.3 billion miles) while playing Niantic’s games. It’s unclear how much of that stat is from Ingress  players, but probably not much, given that Pokémon GO is far and above the more popular title.

Some other wild metrics about Pokémon GO  in 2021 include:

  • 12 billion gifts sent
  • 3.9 billion Eggs hatched
  • 10.269 billion Pokémon caught during 2021 Community Days

It’s almost like this game is popular or something. Who knew! It makes even League of Legends’ numbers seem quaint by comparison.

Anyone eager who wants to be the very best would do wise to check out some of our Pokémon GO guides. There are tips on countering  ZekromReshiram, and Heatran during raids. Not to mention  a full walkthrough  that goes into much greater detail on the game’s more challenging fights.

This Week in Pokémon GO: Bergmite debut, Galarian Mr. Mime and more

We’ve rounded up all of the Pokémon GO events for the upcoming week.

The culmination of the GO Holidays is fast approaching and the countdown to the end of the Stardust Challenge, which is part of the Season of Heritage, is ticking incessantly. To make sure you don’t miss any content during this phase, we’ve rounded up all of the Pokémon GO events for the upcoming week from Dec. 20 to Dec. 26, 2021.

Pokemon Go Tour will have a small number of in-person events in February

An in-person segment of Pokemon Go Tour: Johto has just been announced for Feb. 2022, although it’s only accessible in select regions.

Niantic has announced a small number of Pokemon Go Tour events that will be held in person early next year. The important word there is ‘small’ – while these events have been tentatively scheduled for Feb. 2022, they’re few and quite literally far between.

This comes in the wake of news that Pokemon Go Tour will be returning in 2022 in some capacity, with Feb. 26 being the target date for a worldwide event. After last year’s highly successful Pokemon Go Tour: Kanto venture, this celebration will be conducted in honor of Johto.

Since then, Niantic has also announced details of a second date for 2022’s Pokemon Go Tour. On Feb. 27, trainers will be able to participate in an in-person part of the event – the catch is that it’s only available in three cities.

The in-person leg of Pokemon Go Tour: Johto will be held on Feb. 27 in three locations – Parque Fundidora in Monterrey, Mexico; the Taiwan Lantern Festival in Kaohsiung, Taiwan; and Yas Bay in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Tickets for these in-person events are priced at $25 or the country’s local equivalent. Niantic has also published a blog post to give trainers an idea of what they can expect from Pokemon Go Tour: Johto’s live and very limited second outing.

Among other things, the Feb. 27 event will include real-world themed habitats, event-exclusive Special Research, up to nine free Raid Passes, real-life photo ops, and exclusive merch. Again, all of this is currently restricted to the three locations listed above. It’s unknown at present whether more cities will be added at a later date.

If you’re unable to attend the event and are feeling disappointed about being left out, it’s worth remembering that the December Community Day is this weekend. Lots of rare Pokemon will be available to catch over the course of Saturday, Dec. 18 and Sunday, Dec. 19, including Gible, Eevee, Oshawott, and more.

Outside of that, we also recently published some handy tier lists for the Great League and Ultra League, so be sure to check those out if you’re interested in Pokemon Go’s PvP component.

Pokémon GO Battle League: Holiday Cup meta tier list

Pokémon GO’s Holiday Cup is around for the Holidays, and this guide will break down the meta Pokémon you can use to win.

Pokémon GO Battle League’s Ultra League, and Ultra League Remix started on Monday, December 13, 2021. Along with the start of the GO Holidays on Thursday, December 16, 2021, Holiday Cup joins up with them as a traditional limited format. This tournament will be available until December 31, 2021.

Only Pokémon with a maximum of 1,500 Competition Points (CP) can participate in the Holiday Cup. In addition, many Pokémon types are banned – you can only use monsters of the appropriately festive categories Normal, Grass, Electric, Ice, Flying, and Ghost. This requires quite a bit of customization, as the regular Great League meta gets all mixed up because of those bans. This guide will help you find your way around and show you the best Pokémon for Holiday Cup.

Pokemon GO Battle League: Ultra League Remix meta tier list

A complete breakdown of team compositions and the very best Pokémon to use in the Ultra League Remix in Pokémon GO.

Coinciding with the start of the Ultra League in Season 10 of GO Battle League in Pokémon GO, Ultra League Remix opens its doors. The two formats replace Great League and Great League Remix, which were active at the launch of the season.

The Remix format uses the Competition Point (CP) limit from Ultra League, which is 2,500 CP, but bans the ten most popular pocket monsters from the previous season to mix things up. The two competitions will remain active until December 27, 2021. How you best adapt to Ultra League Remix and leave your rivals in the dust is revealed in this guide.

This weight class raises the maximum limit for Competition Points (CP) to 2,500, significantly expanding the pool of eligible Pokémon candidates for teams.
