Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (7-8) visit the Baltimore Ravens (10-5) for the Sunday Night Football game in a divisional rivalry with major playoff implications. Kickoff from M&T Bank Stadium is set for 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Steelers vs. Ravens odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

One game under .500, the Steelers hope to continue coach Mike Tomlin’s streak of never finishing a season below .500. Pittsburgh has won 2 games in a row since suffering a 16-14 defeat as a 1.5-point home favorite against Baltimore Dec 11. The Steelers’ playoff hopes are alive but are incredibly slim with most football experts having their postseason odds around 2%. They can’t afford to lose another game, but if the Miami Dolphins (8-7), who are 2.5-point road underdogs, upset the New England Patriots (7-8) earlier in the day, the Steelers would be eliminated, according to FiveThirtyEight.

The Ravens trail the AFC North-leading Cincinnati Bengals (11-4) by 1 game in the division. As long as the Ravens don’t lose ground — the Bengals host the Buffalo Bills (12-3) Monday night — the two rivals will play for the North title next week in Cincinnati. Baltimore would win a tiebreaker because it beat Cincy at M&T earlier in the season and would complete a sweep if it wins there in Week 18. The Ravens have already secured a playoff spot and are looking to be one of the top seeds in the AFC by winning the division and getting hot just in time for QB Lamar Jackson to return from injury. Baltimore is coming off a much needed 17-9 win as a 6.5-point favorite vs. Atlanta last Saturday that gave the Ravens momentum that they will look to ride into this game.

Steelers at Ravens picks and predictions

Prediction

Steelers 13, Ravens 12

Moneyline

PASS since I’m focusing on the spread.

The Steelers (+115) are the underdogs, but they should be the favorites with Jackson out for the Ravens. In this divisional rivalry, it’s rare that either team sweeps the other in the season series, and I don’t see that happening in this one. Plus, Tomlin has never had a season under .500 in his career and the Steelers will keep that streak going with a win Sunday — they host the last-place Cleveland Browns (6-9) in Week 18.

Against the spread

PITTSBURGH +2.5 (-107) is the BEST BET in this matchup. However, if the Steelers are eliminated from playoff contention before kickoff — because of a Miami win at New England — this is a PASS.

When these teams met 2 weeks ago, the game ended with a 2-point differential — the above-mentioned Ravens’ 16-14 victory. This final should be just as close. With Jackson out and the Steelers looking much better now than at the start of the season, this will be a tough game for the Ravens.

If the Steelers aren’t eliminated before kickoff, BET 1.5 UNITS here or divvy up the 1.5 units with a smaller PITTSBURGH (+115) ML wager.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 35 (-112).

If Jackson was playing for the Ravens, I’d lean Over, but because he is out and knowing how terrible the Ravens offense is without him, the Under should be pretty safe here. The Steelers offense has been bad all season and the Ravens offense struggles without their starting QB. With Baltimore’s running game also not performing, it will be hard for either team to put up points.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (8-7-1) face the Baltimore Ravens (8-8) in both teams’ regular-season finale Sunday in Week 18. Kickoff at M&T Bank Stadium is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Steelers vs. Ravens odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

Pittsburgh needs the Jacksonville Jaguars to upset the Indianapolis Colts and for the Los Angeles Chargers versus Las Vegas Raiders game to not end in a tie to clinch an AFC postseason berth.

The Steelers beat the Cleveland Browns 26-14 on Monday Night Football in Week 17 in what’s expected to be Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger‘s final home game. Pittsburgh is 7-9 ATS and 6-10 O/U.

Baltimore needs a lot more help to make the playoffs. The Ravens have to win against the Steelers and need losses by the Colts, Chargers and Miami Dolphins to advance to the postseason.

The Ravens have lost five straight games (3-2 ATS) and they’ve been without former MVP QB Lamar Jackson for the last three outings. Baltimore is 8-8 ATS and 8-8 O/U.

Pittsburgh has won three straight over Baltimore including a 20-19 victory in Week 13 this season that concluded with the Ravens failing on a would-be go-ahead 2-point conversion attempt in the final minute.

Steelers at Ravens odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Steelers 23, Ravens 20

Money line

SPRINKLE on the STEELERS (+155) with the plan of betting more on Pittsburgh plus the points. I give the Steelers the edge because they are far healthier than the Ravens and have the motivation of sending Big Ben off on a winning note.

Baltimore’s offensive line has struggled all season in pass protection and Pittsburgh has one of the best pass-rushing units in the NFL.

Furthermore, Steelers OLB T.J. Watt is one sack away from NFL Hall of Famer Michael Strahan’s single-season sack record (22.5). Watt is going to be the best player on the field and wreak havoc over Baltimore’s offensive line.

Both sides of the ball for Pittsburgh have max motivation while Baltimore is limping down the stretch. The idea is to bet Pittsburgh’s spread heavier but SPRINKLE on the STEELERS (+155).

Against the spread

Definitely BET the STEELERS +3.5 (-112) heavier than, or instead of, their money line. This line has already come crashing down after news broke that Lamar would miss Baltimore’s regular-season finale.

However, there’s still value in Pittsburgh’s spread because it’s been profitable to bet on whichever team is an underdog of 3.5 or more points in this Steelers-Ravens head-to-head series.

For what it’s worth, the STEELERS +3.5 (-112) is my favorite wager in this game.

Over/Under

Slight “LEAN” to the OVER 40.5 (-115) for a small wager, if at all, as a fade against a market that’s barrelling into the Under.

More than 60% of the action is on the Under according to Pregame.com and we know 60% of sports bettors don’t beat the oddsmakers.

That said, the Under has cashed in five of the past seven Steelers-Ravens meetings in Baltimore and my favorite wager is Pittsburgh’s spread anyhow.

Baltimore Ravens favored over undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8

The Baltimore Ravens open as betting favorites in their Week 8 matchup against the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.

Reigning MVP QB Lamar Jackson has thrown for 10 touchdowns against two interceptions and has rushed for 346 yards and two touchdowns through six games. The Ravens have won three straight games after losing 34-20 against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3.
