Pittsburgh is the perfect landing spot for Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy

Could the Steelers lure Eric Bieniemy away from Kansas City?

If reports are to be believed, Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy is looking for a lateral move to another team so he can prove himself in an attempt to land a head coaching job in the future. If Bieniemy wants an opportunity with a team where he can make his mark, there is no better situation than with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers have floundered the last two seasons with Matt Canada as the offensive coordinator. The Steelers offense is loaded with talented young skill players who could really benefit from the innovation and football mind of Bieniemy.

Bieniemy has had to operate in the shadow of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid but in Pittsburgh, the offense would be all his. This Steelers team almost snuck into the playoffs last season despite all the struggles and how much Canada limited this group. There would be no limits to what this group could do if given the opportunity with Bieniemy in charge.

If the Steelers don’t feel like they can just do that to Canada it would be easy to put Bieniemy in a role similar to how they had Brian Flores last season with the defense. Let us know in the comments if the Steelers should try to add Beiniemy to the coaching staff.

Is the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade the best in Steelers history?

Vote for the best trade in Steelers history.

On September 17, 2019 the Pittsburgh Steelers season was on the ropes. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was out for the season and the team was 0-2. But the front office didn’t panic. Instead they looked to make their strength stronger and made a trade with the Miami Dolphins to acquire safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Since coming to the Steelers, Fitzpatrick has established himself as the standard at free safety. But is this the best trade in franchise history? Maybe but there are some other contenders.

Back in 1996 the Steelers sent a second-round pick to the St. Lous Rams for a third-round pick and running back Jerome Bettis. Bettis went on to have the best career in franchise history and has a strong case that he’s the best back this team has ever had.

Another trade we’ve included is the move to go up and draft safety Troy Polamalu in 2003. Polamalu is a Hall of Famer and maybe the best defensive back to ever play for the Steelers.

Finally we have something of a wild card. In 2019 the Steelers decided enough was enough and cut ties with troubled wide receiver Antonio Brown. Pittsburgh convinced the Oakland Raiders to send them a third and fifth-round pick for Brown and Brown ran himself out of Oakland within days and never played a meaningful snap for the team. The Steelers used that third-round pick to draft wide receiver Diontae Johnson. Johnson has steadily improved and is the best receiver on the team.

Cast your vote and let us know if the Fitzpatrick trade is the best in franchise history or do you give the nod to one of the others.

The Steelers will have JuJu Smith-Schuster on Sunday.

Back in October, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster suffered a serious shoulder injury that threatened to cost him the season. But when Smith-Schuster returned to practice this week we knew there was a shot he’d play in the first round of the playoffs on Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Saturday, Smith-Schuster took to social media and let everyone know he’s planning to play this week.

God answered my prayers and I’ve recovered from my season-ending shoulder injury earlier than expected. I can’t believe I have another chance to take the field with this team to help us in a playoff game to keep our season and goal alive. I’ll do whatever I can to help us come out on top this Sunday! I feel so lucky to be able to put the cleats on again this season, it’s been a hard two months for me, but Steelers Nation, Here We Goooooooo!!

The return of Smith-Schuster gives the Steelers a level of energy and physicality among the skill players that has been absent since his injury. It remains to be seen how much Smith-Schuster will play but even if the team only gets 15-20 snaps it can only make this offense better.
