Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers commence their preseasons Friday. Kickoff from Raymond James Stadium is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Steelers vs. Buccaneers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Buccaneers have been on a downward trend since winning Super Bowl LV, falling in the Divisional Round and the Wild Card round in the last 2 seasons. QB Tom Brady has retired, so the battle to be his successor between Baker Mayfield and Kyle Trask is what many fans are most intrigued about. Key players like LT Tristian Wirfs and WR Mike Evans are still with the club, but another year older and working with a different face under center.

Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback this season will be 2022 1st-round pick Kenny Pickett. Head coach Mike Tomlin extended his streak of winning seasons to 16, but the Steelers have still missed the playoffs in 3 of their last 5 seasons and were eliminated in the Wild Card round in the other two. Star RB Najee Harris appears likely to get some work in this battle as well. The Steelers also added key WR Allen Robinson in free agency and LT Broderick Jones with their 1st-round pick.

Steelers at Buccaneers picks and predictions

Prediction

Steelers 20, Buccaneers 17

Moneyline

PASS.

The Steelers (-145) are just a touch too expensive to play on the moneyline, especially in a preseason game. They do have the more experienced quarterbacks which should captain their offense for much of the game.

The Buccaneers’ quarterbacks haven’t been impressive at camp. Mayfield will start Friday, and we can expect a well-coached Steelers defense to get the best of them. However, look to the spread for a better value.

Against the spread

BET STEELERS -2.5 (-110).

QB Mason Rudolph is third-string for Pittsburgh, and he should show more competence than Tampa’s third-string quarterback, John Wolford.

The depth of playmakers that Pittsburgh has is also notable with rookie TE Darnell Washington and Jones. Tomlin is the better coach, and Pittsburgh has more talent deep into its roster.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 39.5 (-110).

Neither team has quarterbacks that have shown much competence either throughout their career or in camp. Many of the Steelers’ top-end playmakers like WR George Pickens are expected to see limited drives in the first game.

However, the Steelers’ 2nd-string defenders, like camp standout CB Joey Porter Jr., could see snaps. Trask and Mayfield aren’t an impressive duo and should struggle to move the ball.

Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Cleveland Browns at Pittsburgh Steelers odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

In the Week 18 regular-season finale, the Cleveland Browns (7-9) travel to meet the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-8) at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Browns vs. Steelers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Browns have won 4 of the last 6 games, while also going 4-2 ATS during the stretch. Cleveland hasn’t slowed down despite being eliminated from the postseason chase on Dec. 24 with a home loss to the New Orleans Saints.

After reportedly asking out of last week’s game, and criticizing the coaching staff publicly, DE Jadeveon Clowney has been ruled out for the finale, and his tenure with the team is more than likely over.

The Steelers are still alive for a playoff spot, although Pittsburgh needs help to get in. First and foremost, it must win on Sunday. The Steelers have won 3 in a row, but all of the victories have been 1-score games, including the last 2 wins by 3 points each.

Browns at Steelers picks and predictions

Prediction

Browns 20, Steelers 18

Moneyline

The BROWNS (+125) haven’t had a lot of success in Pittsburgh over the years, and the Steelers (-145) have never had a losing season under Mike Tomlin.

There seems to be a million reasons to pick the Steelers, especially since Pittsburgh is still mathematically alive for a playoff spot, while Cleveland has the Clowney distraction on defense, while playing for nothing but pride. But the Browns are trying to build momentum for next season.

Against the spread

BROWNS +2.5 (-103) is a solid play, although it would be a lot nicer at a flat 3 or 3.5. The Steelers -2.5 (-117) have won the last 2 games by 3 points, needing heroics from rookie QB Kenny Pickett in the 4th quarter to win it.

Pittsburgh’s luck is going to run out, and Cleveland will be more than happy to play spoiler. The defense for the Browns has been tremendously improved in the last 6 games, allowing 17 or fewer points in 5 of the outings.

Over/Under

UNDER 40.5 (-112) is the lean, as defense should rule the day in this AFC North rivalry game.

The Under is 9-2 in Pittsburgh’s last 11 home games, while going 6-2 in the last 8 inside the division. The Under is also 4-1 in Pittsburgh’s last 5 games overall.

The Under is on a 6-0 run for the Browns, while cashing at a 3-0-1 clip in the last 4 inside the division, and 8-3 in the previous 11 games on the road.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (7-8) visit the Baltimore Ravens (10-5) for the Sunday Night Football game in a divisional rivalry with major playoff implications. Kickoff from M&T Bank Stadium is set for 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Steelers vs. Ravens odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

One game under .500, the Steelers hope to continue coach Mike Tomlin’s streak of never finishing a season below .500. Pittsburgh has won 2 games in a row since suffering a 16-14 defeat as a 1.5-point home favorite against Baltimore Dec 11. The Steelers’ playoff hopes are alive but are incredibly slim with most football experts having their postseason odds around 2%. They can’t afford to lose another game, but if the Miami Dolphins (8-7), who are 2.5-point road underdogs, upset the New England Patriots (7-8) earlier in the day, the Steelers would be eliminated, according to FiveThirtyEight.

The Ravens trail the AFC North-leading Cincinnati Bengals (11-4) by 1 game in the division. As long as the Ravens don’t lose ground — the Bengals host the Buffalo Bills (12-3) Monday night — the two rivals will play for the North title next week in Cincinnati. Baltimore would win a tiebreaker because it beat Cincy at M&T earlier in the season and would complete a sweep if it wins there in Week 18. The Ravens have already secured a playoff spot and are looking to be one of the top seeds in the AFC by winning the division and getting hot just in time for QB Lamar Jackson to return from injury. Baltimore is coming off a much needed 17-9 win as a 6.5-point favorite vs. Atlanta last Saturday that gave the Ravens momentum that they will look to ride into this game.

Steelers at Ravens picks and predictions

Prediction

Steelers 13, Ravens 12

Moneyline

PASS since I’m focusing on the spread.

The Steelers (+115) are the underdogs, but they should be the favorites with Jackson out for the Ravens. In this divisional rivalry, it’s rare that either team sweeps the other in the season series, and I don’t see that happening in this one. Plus, Tomlin has never had a season under .500 in his career and the Steelers will keep that streak going with a win Sunday — they host the last-place Cleveland Browns (6-9) in Week 18.

Against the spread

PITTSBURGH +2.5 (-107) is the BEST BET in this matchup. However, if the Steelers are eliminated from playoff contention before kickoff — because of a Miami win at New England — this is a PASS.

When these teams met 2 weeks ago, the game ended with a 2-point differential — the above-mentioned Ravens’ 16-14 victory. This final should be just as close. With Jackson out and the Steelers looking much better now than at the start of the season, this will be a tough game for the Ravens.

If the Steelers aren’t eliminated before kickoff, BET 1.5 UNITS here or divvy up the 1.5 units with a smaller PITTSBURGH (+115) ML wager.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 35 (-112).

If Jackson was playing for the Ravens, I’d lean Over, but because he is out and knowing how terrible the Ravens offense is without him, the Under should be pretty safe here. The Steelers offense has been bad all season and the Ravens offense struggles without their starting QB. With Baltimore’s running game also not performing, it will be hard for either team to put up points.

Las Vegas Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Las Vegas Raiders at Pittsburgh Steelers odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

To close out the Saturday schedule in Week 16, the Las Vegas Raiders (6-8) are on the road to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers (6-8). Kickoff at Acrisure Stadium is 8:15 p.m. ET (NFL Network). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Raiders vs. Steelers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Raiders have won 3 of their last 4 games. They are coming off a 30-24 win over the New England Patriots as 1-point favorites when DE Chandler Jones returned a fumble from a lateral 48 yards for the go-ahead touchdown.

The Steelers have also won 3 of their last 4 games. They are coming off a 24-16 road win over the Carolina Panthers as 2.5-point underdogs.

Raiders at Steelers picks and predictions

Prediction

Steelers 17, Raiders 16

Moneyline

The Steelers have begun winning games with their defense. They have not allowed more than 17 points to an opponent in their last 4 games.

The Raiders have averaged 28.3 points per game in their last 4 games and have not won a game scoring fewer than 22 points.

The Steelers have not won a game when an opponent scored more than 20.

In the cold of Pittsburgh at night, it will be close.

BET STEELERS (-130).

Against the spread

The Raiders are 7-7 ATS compared to the Steelers’ 7-6-1 ATS mark this season.

If this is going to a low-scoring affair, it could come down to just a couple of points, a late touchdown or late field goal.

I like the Steelers to win but am not confident they can or win by at least 3.
Betting the moneyline is still decent value and you get a couple of points to play with.

PASS.

Over/Under

The 38-point projected total is low. But with an expected high temperature of 13 degrees on Saturday, game conditions will be much colder at night.

Two of the Steelers’ last 4 games have finished with fewer than 38 points.

The Raiders’ 1 loss in the last month was a 17-16 affair.

BET UNDER 38 (-108).

Pittsburgh Steelers at Carolina Panthers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Carolina Panthers odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (5-8) are set to face the Carolina Panthers (5-8) on Sunday in Week 15 at Bank of America Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Steelers vs. Panthers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Steelers lost to a Baltimore Ravens team without QB Lamar Jackson 16-14 in Week 14 as they failed to cover as 1.5-point favorites at home. Despite the loss last week, Pittsburgh has won 2 of its last 3 games.

The Panthers secured a 30-24 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 14 to cover as 3.5-point underdogs. Carolina has won 3 of its last 4 games entering Sunday’s matchup against Pittsburgh.

Steelers at Panthers picks and predictions

Prediction

Steelers 20, Panthers 16

Moneyline

Even with the uncertainty at the quarterback position, STEELERS (+130) is an intriguing wager in this contest. While QB Sam Darnold has been solid since returning for the Panthers, the defense of the Steelers could make things difficult for him on Sunday.

Against the spread

STEELERS +3 (-116) is where I’m going considering that I have them winning outright in Week 15. The Steelers have won each of the last 4 meetings against the Panthers.

The Steelers are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games against the Panthers.

Over/Under

Given the struggles that both of these offenses have and with how well these defenses have played, UNDER 37.5 (-111) is the ideal choice in this game. The Steelers could have either QB Mitch Trubisky or QB Mason Rudolph starting Sunday.

The Panthers have hit the Under in 5 of their last 6 games against a team with a losing record. Meanwhile, the Steelers have hit the Under in 3 of their last 5 games.

The Ravens escaped with a 10-9 victory over the Denver Broncos in Week 13 despite failing to cover as 9.5-point favorites at home. Baltimore has won 5 of its last 6 games, but QB Lamar Jackson is expected to be out for Sunday’s contest.

Ravens at Steelers picks and predictions

Prediction

Steelers 17, Ravens 13

Moneyline

While I’m not extremely confident in Pittsburgh securing a win at home, STEELERS (-125) is where I’d lean if I’m taking the moneyline in this game due to the Ravens’ quarterback issues.

QB Tyler Huntley has proven to be an effective backup for the Ravens, but he has a limited arsenal of weapons and he’ll be playing in a hostile environment.

Against the spread

STEELERS -2 (-111) is an enticing wager with Pittsburgh hosting a Baltimore team that isn’t expected to have Jackson available. All the Steelers need is for QB Kenny Pickett to protect the football and they should be able to come away with the win.

The Ravens are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team in the AFC North and they are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 meetings against the Steelers.

Over/Under

With it being a divisional game and a matchup between 2 teams with limited offenses, UNDER 37 (-113) appears to be the ideal way to wager on the total. The Ravens have looked better on defense in recent weeks and with Watt back for the Steelers, they’re a formidable unit.

The Steelers have hit the Under in 4 of their last 5 games following a win and the Under is 7-2 in Pittsburgh’s last 9 home games.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Atlanta Falcons odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Atlanta Falcons odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (4-7) visit the Atlanta Falcons (5-7) Sunday at 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Steelers vs. Falcons odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

A 19-13 loss to Washington was not what the Falcons wanted last Sunday. The team had a chance to win, but a critical red-zone interception from Marcus Mariota cost Atlanta the game. With Tampa Bay’s loss, the Falcons  remain just 1 game back in the weak NFC South Division.

The Steelers feel good after a 24-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night. But despite the win, Pittsburgh is still 4th in the AFC North. While the team is struggling, QB Kenny Pickett had some moments on Monday and his progress means good things for the future in Pittsburgh. His connection with WR George Pickens is something the team can build on. If Najee Harris can get healthy, there is a solid young core for the Steelers to count on.

If you are going to bet the ML, do not bet the spread at 1. Both odds are similar and choosing either is fine in this game. Same goes for the Steelers.

Against the spread

PASS.

If you bet the ML then skip the spread as the numbers are the same. If you decide to wager on the spread, then skip the ML. it is as simple as that in this game.

Over/Under

BET OVER 42.5 (-109).

This game will be close. With 2 not-so-good teams and a close spread, I like the Over to hit. When Watt is healthy, the Pittsburgh defense is entirely different. With injured ribs heading into this game, the defense will not be as good, and the Falcons will be able to use Mariota in the run game and Drake London in the pass game to move the ball. The Steelers will also be able to move the ball against a bad Atlanta defense. I do not think this game is a shootout, but it does get into the 40s. Give me OVER 42.5 (-109).

Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Pittsburgh Steelers at Indianapolis Colts odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Pittsburgh Steelers (3-7) meet the Indianapolis Colts (4-6-1) for Monday Night Football in Week 12. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Steelers vs. Colts odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The good news is that the Steelers posted a season-high 30 points last week at home against the Cincinnati Bengals. The bad news is that the Steelers allowed 37 points, the second-most they’ve surrendered this season.

Pittsburgh is just 1-3 in its last 4 games, although it is 3-2 against the spread (ATS) across the past 5, and the Under is 4-2 in the past 6 games.

The Colts are coming off a 17-16 loss last week at the Philadelphia Eagles, but coach Jeff Saturday’s team played well and covered as 6.5-point underdogs. Indianapolis 1-1 straight up (SU) and 2-0 ATS since the former Colts center and more recently, former ESPN analyst Saturday took the reins.

Indy is 2-3 at home, but 3-2 ATS there. Looking at totals, the Under is 9-2 in Colts games this season, including 4-1 in the past 5.

Steelers at Colts picks and predictions

Prediction

Colts 20, Steelers 18

Moneyline

INDIANAPOLIS (-145) is a strong play, especially if you don’t want to mess around with laying the points with the spread as this should be a close, low-scoring game.

Three of the Colts’ past 4 games were one-possession games. For the season, 8 of their 11 games were decided by one score, including 2 overtime contests. Win or lose, Indy games are close.

As for Pittsburgh, while the season hasn’t been up to the lofty standards of the Steelers, 3 of their past 5 games have been one-possession finals — as have 6 of their 10 overall.

Against the spread

PASS.

If you like the Colts -2.5 (-116), just play them on the money line at -145 juice. It isn’t that big of a difference, and I expect this game to come right down to the end, perhaps due to a missed 2-point conversion, etc. … It will be that close.

Over/Under

UNDER 39 (-108) is the slight lean in this prime-time matchup.

The Steelers offense has really struggled this season, and their best quality is running the football. The Colts defense is solid against the run, allowing just 113.5 rushing yards per game. Overall, the Indy defense ranks 4th in the NFL with only 307.6 total yards allowed, including 194.2 passing yards per game to rank 6th.

While the Colts have run the ball well lately with a healthy RB Jonathan Taylor, stopping the run is what the Steelers defense does best. Pittsburgh yields just 103.4 rushing yards per game to rank 7th in the NFL.

Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Cincinnati Bengals at Pittsburgh Steelers odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cincinnati Bengals (5-4) visit the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-6) Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Bengals vs. Steelers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

Coming off their bye week the Bengals will still be without star WR Ja’Marr Chase. They will have RB Joe Mixon, who scored 4 TDs in their last game, a 42-21 home win as 7-point favorites against the Carolina Panthers Nov. 6.

The Bengals will look to avenge a 23-20 opening-season loss to the Steelers. Despite outgaining Pittsburgh by 165 yards (432 to 267), Cincinnati lost as a 7.5-point favorite. The Bengals could have won, but K Evan McPherson missed 2 field goals, one at the end of regulation and another in overtime.

With trading WR Chase Claypool to the Bears, it will be prudent for WR Diontae Johnson to minimize his drops — something which has been a struggle his entire career. He did OK in the Steelers’ 1st game after the trade, pulling in 4 catches on 5 targets for 63 years in last week’s 20-10 home win vs. the New Orleans Saints — Pittsburgh was a 1-point favorite.

But having to face a Bengals defense that has been solid recently and having a limited number of weapons, the Steelers could be in trouble.

Bengals at Steelers picks and predictions

Prediction

Bengals 27, Steelers 20

Moneyline

PASS.

The Bengals (-190) will win, but I’m not a fan of making a moneyline bet of -180 or higher. It’s not worth the risk.

Against the spread

BET BENGALS -3.5 (-108).

The Steelers played good in the second half against the Saints last Sunday, outscoring New Orleans 10-0. However, the Saints were without a true QB and their best WR in Michael Thomas. They also played without star CB Marshon Lattimore.

The Bengals will come in fresh off a bye and looking to avenge the Week 1 loss. Mixon is coming off the best game of his career and WR Tee Higgins along with WR Tyler Boyd will be able to beat Pittsburgh’s defense down field.

If the Bengals’ offensive line can control Steelers LB T.J. Watt long enough for QB Joe Burrow to throw, this will be a cover for the Bengals.

I expect the O-Line to do just that, making CINCINNATI -3.5 (-108) my pick here.

Over/Under

BET OVER 40 (-108).

It took overtime for these AFC North rivals to get to 43 points in Week 1, but these teams are far better now than they were in the opener. Plus, Burrow is fully healthy after an off-season appendix surgery. This makes the difference here.

With K Boswell out, the Steelers will take more chances. The Bengals already do this. More drives equal more points. OVER 40 (-108) is my FAVORITE PLAY.

New Orleans Saints at Pittsburgh Steelers odds, picks and predictions

The New Orleans Saints (3-6) visit the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-6) for a Week 10 battle Sunday at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh. Kickoff is set for 1  p.m. ET (FOX). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the Saints vs. Steelers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

The Saints were dumped 27-13 by the visiting Baltimore Ravens last Sunday as 2-point underdogs. New Orleans is just 1-3 SU/ATS in the last 4 games. The Under has cashed in the last 2 games after a run of 4 straight Over results.

The Steelers were drummed 35-13 by the Philadelphia Eagles 2 weeks ago, using last week to regroup during the bye. Since a Week 1 win at Cincinnati in OT, Pittsburgh has just 1 win in the last 7 games, while going 2-4-1 ATS during the stretch.

Saints at Steelers picks and predictions

Prediction

Steelers 22, Saints 16

Moneyline

STEELERS (+100) are worth a play as short ‘dogs at home, especially since they’re coming off a bye and have had 2 weeks to prepare for this battle.

In addition, temperatures will be in the upper 30’s to around 40, which is good news for the home side, and bad news for the indoor team from the south.

Against the spread

Playing STEELERS +1.5 (-109) isn’t the end of the world, as this will be a super close and low-scoring game, although Pittsburgh is the better value play on the money line.

Pittsburgh topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, another team from the NFC South, back in Week 6 as a home ‘dog, winning 20-18. Look for coach Mike Tomlin to have his group prepared.

Over/Under

UNDER 39.5 (-109) is the lean at Acrisure on Sunday.

The Under is 3-1 in the last 4 games for the Steelers, while cashing in the last 2 games for the Ravens. In addition, the Under is 6-1 in the last 7 games at home for the Steelers, while they’ve going 10-2-1 in the last 13 at home against teams with a losing road record.
