Prediction

Nets 115, Pistons 111

Moneyline (ML)

Neither team is playing well right now with Brooklyn (-278) losing six of its last seven and Detroit (+220) dropping four of its last five. Both teams are 3-7 in their last 10 games, struggling to find any consistency. The Pistons are 6-4 in their last 10 meetings with the Nets but 1-2 in the last three.

This is a fairly even matchup between two bad teams, which doesn’t make the moneyline very enticing. PASS on the moneyline and look at the spread instead.

Line/Against the Spread (ATS)

The Nets come in as 5.5-point favorites with PG Kyrie Irving and C DeAndre Jordan both expected to be in the lineup. They’re 1-6 ATS in their last seven games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10.

The Pistons haven’t been any better (3-7 ATS), but they should be more competitive than their last meeting with the Nets, when they lost 121-111. Take the PISTONS (+5.5, +105) to cover and stay within 5 points in a loss or win outright.

Over/Under (O/U)

These are two of the lowest-scoring teams in the NBA, ranking 19th and 21st in points per game. The projected total is set at 224.5. The total has gone Over in seven of the Pistons’ last eight games and five of the Nets’ last seven.

Take the OVER 224.5 (-129) with it being a fairly low total and the recent track records of both teams.
