There are 18 holes left in this no-cut, winner’s-only field in Maui.

The PGA Tour has kicked off the 2022 calendar year in paradise.

A 38-player field full of winners is at Kapalua’s Plantation Course once again for the 2022 Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Cameron Smith entered the third round with a three-shot lead. He fired a Saturday 9 under 64 — and he got caught.

World No. 1 Jon Rahm seems to be unstoppable, playing his last 12 holes 11-under during the third round tying Justin Thomas for the course record (a record Thomas set a few hours before Rahm finished).

The Aussie and Spaniard are five shots clear of the next name on the leaderboard, Daniel Berger.

Cameron Smith built on his opening-round lead with a Friday 64, besting his Thursday round by a shot. He’ll have to stay on top of his game as World No. 1 Jon Rahm sits three shots back alongside Daniel Berger.

Reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year Patrick Cantlay is also striking it well sitting four shots back at 13 under.

Cam Smith leads the way after an impressive 8-under 65 in Thursday’s first round, followed by Daniel Berger, Jon Rahm and Patrick Cantlay all T-2 at 7 under. After a blustery trip to paradise in Bermuda last week, the PGA Tour continues its excursion outside the United States this week in Mexico.

Mayakoba Resort’s El Camaleon Golf Club in Playa del Carmen plays host this week to the 2021 World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba.

Matthew Wolff was the 18- and 36-hole leader, but stumbled on Saturday and will tee it up in the final round nine shots back of the leader.

The man leading happens to be the same man who won this tournament last season, Viktor Hovland. His Saturday bogey-free 62 propelled him to the top of the leaderboard as he leads Talor Gooch by two shots. Justin Thomas sits just three shots back.

Matthew Wolff looked to be in complete control Friday, but bogeys on 16 and 18 brought him back down the leaderboard, closing his lead to just two shots heading into the weekend.

Scottie Scheffler, on the other hand, charged up the leaderboard when he made five straight birdies on his back-nine which helped him to get to 7 under on the day, 11 under in total, and two back going into moving day.
