2021 Sanderson Farms Championship odds, picks and PGA Tour predictions

Analyzing the golf odds to win the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship, with PGA Tour picks, predictions and best bets.

The 2021-22 PGA Tour season resumes with this week’s Sanderson Farms Championship at the Country Club of Jackson in Jackson, Mississippi. The full-field event follows Team USA’s dominant victory at the 2021 Ryder Cup. Below, we look at the 2021 Sanderson Farms Championship odds and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

There’s a quality field in Jackson this week, led by Will Zalatoris, who enters the week at No. 17 in the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. He makes his second appearance at the Sanderson Farms Championship following a missed cut last year. Sergio Garcia is in attendance off of the Ryder Cup loss to defend his 2020 tournament victory.

The course measures 7,461 yards and plays to a par of 72. It’s the eighth time the Sanderson Farms Championship is being held at this venue with no winning 72-hole score worse than Nick Taylor‘s minus-16 in a two-stroke victory in 2014.

2021 Sanderson Farms Championship picks – Favorite

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds a full list. Lines last updated Monday at 4:45 p.m. ET.

Sungjae Im (+2000)

Im has had a disappointing 2021 that has dropped him from No. 18 to No. 29 in the Official World Golf Ranking since the end of the 2020 calendar year. He has just one third-place finish and three other top-10 results through 27 events, but that year-to-date best result was at the BMW Championship as the penultimate event in the FedExCup Playoffs.

He tied for 28th in this event last year with 0.79 Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee and 1.11 SG: Putting per round. He was the runner-up in 2019 with 2.19 SG: Tee-to-Green per round to rank fifth among those who made the cut.

Im struggled around the greens last season, but he has had success at this venue and can lean on his driver and putter.

2021 Sanderson Farms Championship picks – Contender

Matthew Wolff (+5000)

Wolff limited the 2021 portion of his 2020-21 season schedule to just 14 events. He missed the cut in three of those, withdrew from two of them and was disqualified from the Masters due to an incorrect scorecard. However, he was playing his best golf last fall with back-to-back runner-up finishes at the US Open and Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

His inaccuracy off the tee won’t be as much of a detriment as usual at the Country Club of Jackson, and his length will be an advantage over a field lacking most of the Tour’s longest hitters.

Wolff ranked as high as 12th in the OWGR last fall and he won’t be offered at these odds for long should he show some early signs of promise this season.

2021 Sanderson Farms Championship picks – Long shot

Doc Redman (+20000)

Redman’s worth a flier with the 200-1 value.

He missed the cut in 11 of 21 events last year, but he also had a runner-up finish at the Palmetto Championship at Congaree and a T-9 at the AT&T Byron Nelson. He made the cut in each of his two appearances in the Sanderson Farms Championship, with a T-28 last year while averaging 0.64 SG: Off-the-Tee per round.

2021 US Open Bets: Bryson DeChambeau vs. Brooks Koepka

Looking at the odds and lines for the 2021 US Open, with PGA Tour picks and predictions between Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka.

Golf’s greatest active rivalry takes center stage this week at the 121st US Open as Brooks Koepka tries to dethrone reigning US Open champ Bryson DeChambeau. Below, we look at the top bets between DeChambeau vs. Koepka at the 2021 US Open, with PGA Tour picks and predictions.

DeChambeau comes into the tournament at No. 6 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings with Koepka at No. 82. The Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) has them a little closer together at Nos. 5 and 10, respectively.

Both golfers have a win already this season. DeChambeau won the Arnold Palmer Invitational and has three other top-10 finishes through 12 events. Koepka won the Waste Management Phoenix Open and has two runner-up finishes through nine events, including a T-2 at last month’s PGA Championship.

2021 US Open Bets: DeChambeau vs. Koepka

Odds provided by BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. ET.

Tournament match betting: DeChambeau (-125) vs. Koepka (+100)

I discussed this 72-hole matchup here, but it’s the marquee matchup of the US Open.

As discussed on Bet Slippin’ Podcast, the line seems to be doubting Koepka’s health after a missed cut at last week’s Palmetto Championship in South Carolina, even though he tied for second at the PGA Championship in much more difficult conditions. He underwent knee surgery in March and missed the cut in his next two events prior to the year’s second major.

Expect a more motivated KOEPKA (+100) this week as he looks to take down his rival, the reigning US Open champ. Take the value with the even-money underdog. Though, that’d be the case if the odds were reversed, too.

DeChambeau and Koepka each to finish in the top 5: +2000

DeChambeau and Koepka are each +350 for a top-5 finish this week. We’re getting slightly better value with this prop than we would for a straight parlay with a $100 bet returning a profit of $2,000.

It’s a solid bet, with both golfers in the top four by the outright odds. We even get some insurance in the event of multiple golfers tying for fifth.

Dual Forecast (1st/2nd any order): +12500

There’d be no greater story this weekend (other than, perhaps, Phil Mickelson completing the career grand slam) than DeChambeau and Koepka being paired together Sunday afternoon and going down to the wire.

Get a small piece of that possibility by betting Koepka and DeChambeau to finish 1-2 in either order. A $10 bet would return a profit of $1,250.

2021 US Open odds, picks and predictions for Bryson DeChambeau

Looking at the 2021 US Open odds and lines, with picks and predictions for Bryson DeChambeau.

The 121st US Open takes place this week at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California, and Bryson DeChambeau enters as the reigning champion. He won the 2020 US Open by six strokes at Winged Foot Golf Club in the fall. Below, we look at the 2021 US Open odds for Bryson DeChambeau and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

DeChambeau enters the week at No. 6 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings. He won the Arnold Palmer Invitational in early March and tied for third at The Players Championship the next week. While he tied for 46th at the Masters and for 38th at the PGA Championship, he’s rightfully among the favorites for the third major of the year.

DeChambeau missed the cut at the 2018 Farmers Insurance Open in his only appearance at Torrey Pines to date. However, that tournament was long before DeChambeau’s added power and distance.

Odds and best bets for Bryson DeChambeau at the 2021 US Open

Odds provided by BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 10:25 a.m. ET.

Outright winner: +1800

The reigning champion, DeChambeau is a decent value with a share of the third-best odds to win this week. He has shown his top form with a win already this year and we know his new game is well-suited to the difficult conditions of the US Open.

DeChambeau leads all qualified golfers with 1.16 Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee per round.

Top-10 finish: +170

DeChambeau is +350 for a top-5 finish, but we’re still getting plus money with five extra places of insurance. Ignore his limited experience at Torrey Pines; he’s fully capable of handling the thick rough, and he has already mastered major-caliber greens.

Top American: +1100

There’s a considerably higher payout for DeChambeau to win outright, but he’s a fine bet to be the Top American with a share of the second-best odds in the pool. This hedges the chance of tournament favorite Jon Rahm, Rory McIlroy, or another international golfer winning the US Open.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Top former winner: +450

PASS on this nine-man pool. The odds don’t provide enough value to bet against what’s still the top competition in the tournament, including World No. 1 Dustin Johnson.

Tournament match betting: Bryson DeChambeau vs. Brooks Koepka (+100)

DeChambeau and Koepka each have a win this year, but DeChambeau has three other top-10 finishes while Koepka has two runner-ups, including the PGA Championship. That performance was confirmation the two-time US Open champ is fully recovered from knee surgery earlier this year.

Take the value with the four-time major champ at even money. He has more experience at Torrey Pines and has also seemed more publicly motivated to come out on top in golf’s biggest rivalry.

2021 US Open odds, picks and predictions for Jordan Spieth

Looking at the 2021 US Open odds and lines, with picks and predictions for Jordan Spieth.

The first half of 2021 has seen a resurgence from former World No. 1 Jordan Spieth with eight top-10 finishes through 13 events this year. He’s up to No. 19 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings but is still searching for his first major win since the 2017 Open Championship. Below, we look at the 2021 US Open odds for Jordan Spieth and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

Spieth returned to the winner’s circle in April at the Valero Texas Open and tied for third at the Masters the next week. More recently, he tied for 30th at the PGA Championship and followed it up with a runner-up finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge.

Before rejuvenating his career (he’s still just 27 years old) he missed the cut at the 2020 US Open last fall and hasn’t finished inside the top 30 in five appearances since winning in 2015 at Chambers Bay.

Also see:

Odds and best bets for Jordan Spieth at the 2021 US Open

Odds provided by BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. ET.

Outright winner: +2000

Even amid his resurgence, Spieth is still struggling with accuracy off the tee. He’s averaging just 0.05 Strokes Gained: Off-the-Tee per round this season. He’s 184th in driving accuracy and tied for 67th in bogey avoidance.

PASS on betting Spieth to win the US Open with Torrey Pines and the customary US Open rough being too punitive for his wayward drives.

Tournament match betting: Jordan Spieth vs. Justin Thomas (-110)

Bet THOMAS (-110) in this tournament head-to-head. Thomas is second on Tour in SG: Approach this season, and he’s averaging 0.36 SG: Off-the-Tee per round to Spieth’s 0.05. He tied for eighth at the US Open last fall.

Top American: +1200

Six of the top-seven betting favorites this week hail from the US. Spieth shares the sixth-best odds to win the tournament and the fifth-best odds in this pool with tournament favorite Jon Rahm removed. PASS on the nationality prop with better value for the outright win, even though we’re also passing there.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Will Spieth make the cut? No: +280

This is the best value prop on Spieth this week with a chance to nearly triple up the investment. He has missed just one cut through 13 events in 2021, but that was at Torrey Pines for the Farmers Insurance Open. The conditions outside of the fairways will be even tougher this week.

2021 US Open odds, picks and predictions for Phil Mickelson

Looking at the 2021 US Open odds and lines, with picks and predictions for Phil Mickelson.

Less than a month after winning his second PGA Championship, Phil Mickelson will try once again to complete the career grand slam with the elusive US Open. Below, we look at the 2021 US Open odds for Phil Mickelson and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

This will be Mickelson’s second US Open at Torrey Pines (South) in La Jolla, California. He tied for 18th in 2008 when Tiger Woods defeated Rocco Mediate in a playoff. It’s a hometown course of sorts for the 50-year-old from San Diego.

Mickelson, who enters the week at No. 117 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings, is +5000 to win the 121st US Open as a mid-range contender. He was +15000 prior to his PGA Championship win, his first PGA Tour victory since February 2019.

Also see:

Odds and best bets for Phil Mickelson at the 2021 US Open

Odds provided by BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 8:10 a.m. ET.

Outright winner: +5000

Mickelson’s unexpected PGA Championship win dropped his US Open odds considerably, but there’s still a chance for a quality payday with a $100 bet returning a profit of $5,000.

His inability to win the US Open to date has been much discussed, but he has six runner-up finishes and four other top-10 showings in 27 appearances as a professional. He was the low amateur in 1990 and 1991.

He conquered the longest major venue ever at Kiawah Island and still has the distance to contend in major championships. His short game has also long been well-suited to US Open conditions. Add in the local factor, and Mickelson is worth a small bet at +5000.

Place your legal, online 2021 US Open bets in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA, WV and Washington D.C., at BetMGM. Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Top-20 finish: +240

We’re still getting the chance to better than double up our investment with 19 places of cushion for the top-20 finish. His T-18 placing at Torrey Pines in 2008 was among the best of those in this year’s field.

He’s a three-time winner and two-time runner-up at the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines, though that tournament is split between the North and South courses while the US Open is played exclusively on the South Course.

Top American: +4000

PASS on this nationality prop with a lesser payout than the outright win and six of the top-seven betting favorites hailing from the US.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Leader after 1st round: +6000

Mickelson started his PGA Championship run with a round of 2-under-par 70 en route to winning at minus-6. Two weeks earlier, he opened the Wells Fargo Championship with a 7-under 64 and the first-round lead.

He’s a good bet for the 18-hole lead this week until the grueling US Open conditions catch up to the 50-year-old, who’s already the oldest major winner ever.

Will Mickelson make the cut? No: +110

Hedge against disaster befalling Mickelson by backing him to miss the weekend at plus money.

He missed the cut in five of his 12 events this year and in two of his last four US Open appearances.

Picks and predictions for Rory McIlroy’s 2021 PGA Championship odds

Rory McIlroy is the favorite by the odds to win the 2021 PGA Championship. We make our picks and predictions for the 2012 PGA Championship winner.

Former World No. 1 Rory McIlroy returned to the PGA Tour’s winner circle at the Wells Fargo Championship two weeks ago. He remains in search of his first major win since 2014 and returns to another familiar venue this week in the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island. Below, we look at the 2021 PGA Championship odds for Rory McIlroy and make our PGA Tour picks and predictions to win.

McIlroy won the 2012 PGA Championship at the Ocean Course by eight strokes at 13-under par. It was his second of four career major wins to date. He enters this week at No. 15 in the Golfweek/Sagarin world rankings following his third career win at Quail Hollow Club.

He has since been priced as the favorite to win the 2021 PGA Championship.

Also see:

Odds and best bets for Rory McIlroy at the 2021 PGA Championship

Odds provided by BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. ET.

Outright winner: +1100

McIlroy has been priced among the favorites since the 2021 PGA Championship futures odds opened last summer following Collin Morikawa’s win at the 2020 championship at TPC Harding Park. His odds peaked at +1600 following a poor stretch of play early this year which included missed cuts at The Players Championship and the Masters.

There’s not much value left at +1100 with a $100 bet returning a profit of $1,100 and an implied win probability of 8.33% in the 156-man field. He is the rightful favorite, but the better value lies in the assortment of available prop bets.

Place your legal, online 2021 PGA Championship bets in CO, IA, IN, MI, NJ, PA, TN, VA and WV at BetMGM. Risk-free first bet! Terms and conditions apply. Bet now!

Top-10 finish: +130

It’d be wise to take the insurance of the top-10 finish for McIlroy while still getting plus-money. There were 18 players within four shots of runner-up David Lynn amid difficult weather conditions in 2012.

The four-time major champ flashed his old form at the Wells Fargo and made several key sand saves in the final round. That part of his game, along with his second-ranked driving distance, will be key at the lengthy Ocean Course.

Top GB and Ireland: +200

There are several options for McIlroy in the “Top Player” market, but top GB and Ireland is the safest. He’s the highest-ranked golfer from the Golfweek rankings in this 19-man group and it removes the threat of the second-ranked Jon Rahm from the Top European pool.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Leader after 1st round: +2200

McIlroy was second to Carl Pettersson after 18 holes in 2012 after firing a 5-under-par 67. He matched that number in Round 3 and his final round 66 tied for the second-best 18-hole score of the tournament.

Even amid his struggles early this year, he has fired three rounds of 66, including the second round of the Wells Fargo.

In the last group in the final round: +500

If McIlroy is in the final group heading into Sunday, bettors should feel pretty good about his chances of taking home his third career Wanamaker Trophy. We’re already hedging the outright ticket with a top-10 finish and there’s better value with a top-5 placing (+250), as well.

PASS on this undervalued prop.

The Match 3: Champions for Change betting odds and prediction

Previewing The Match: Champions for Change, with details on how to watch, betting odds and our prediction for who will win.

[jwplayer wpOG67VX]

There’ll be no Tiger Woods this time around, but Phil Mickelson is back for another golf exhibition featuring Peyton ManningCharles Barkley and Stephen Curry. The quartet teams up for The Match: Champions for Change, with Mickelson and Barkley taking on Manning and Curry. Below, we’ll look at the betting odds and make our prediction for who’ll win The Match III.

The Match will be played Friday at Stone Canyon in Oro Valley, Arizona. The first tee shots will be hit shortly after 3 p.m. ET. Scoring will follow a modified alternate shot match play format.

The Match: Champions for Change betting odds

Odds provided by BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. ET.

Curry & Manning: -182 | Mickelson & Barkley: +135

Curry and Manning, an NBA star and retired NFL quarterback, respectively, are heavy favorites heading in. Their -182 odds to win the competition represent an implied win probability of 64.54%. Those odds can be expressed fractionally as 50/91 or as a decimal of 1.55.

It would take a $182 bet on Curry and Manning to fetch a profit of $100.

Mickelson and Barkley, who have combined for 44 PGA Tour and 2 PGA Tour Champions victories, are being given an implied win probability of just 42.55% with the +135 money line odds. They have fractional odds of 27/20 and decimal odds of 2.35.

A $100 bet on Mickelson and Barkley would return a profit of $135.

The Match: Champions for Change prediction

Pick to win: Mickelson & Barkley (+135)

Stone Canyon is owned by Mickelson Golf Properties, giving the PGA Tour professional an even greater advantage. The odds here seem heavily skewed by Barkley and his infamous swing. The fact of the matter is, he’s a passionate golfer and isn’t nearly as bad as perceived to be.

Still, Curry and Manning, the latter of which were teamed with Woods in The Match II: Champions for Charity, are the superior amateurs. Curry is a near scratch golfer who has twice played the Korn Ferry Tour’s Ellie Mae Classic on a sponsor exemption but missed the cut both times (2017 and 2018).

As we saw with The Match II, the format is designed to make it as close and competitive as possible. Take the value in the five-time major champion and his playing partner in the made-for-TV event.
