Raiders P AJ Cole named to PFWA All-NFL Team, DE Maxx Crosby to All-AFC Team

As a member of the Pro Football Writers of America, I have a vote on their season awards. Two players who definitely got my vote for the All NFL and All AFC squads were DE Maxx Crosby and P AJ Cole.

The results are out and Cole made the All-NFL team on special teams while Crosby was named to the All-AFC Team on Defense.

Crosby made the All-AFC Team along with Browns DE Myles Garrett. But Crosby was snubbed for the All NFL team by Bengals DE Trey Hendrickson.

Since the Bengals are also in the AFC, it doesn’t really make much sense that Crosby was named to the All AFC Team, but somehow a different AFC defensive end made the All NFL Team.

Alternatively, if Trey Hendrickson is the best in the NFL, would he not also be considered best in the AFC? Make it make sense.

Either way, congrats to AJ Cole and Maxx Crosby on making their respective All-NFL and All-AFC squads.

Raiders have 2 named to PFWA All-NFL Team, 4 to All-AFC Team

Davante Adams, Maxx Crosby make PFWA All-AFC Team, left off All-NFL team

As a member of the Pro Football Writers of America, I get a vote on their season-ending awards. So, I take particular interest in these awards.

Today the PFWA released their All-NFL, All-AFC, and All NFC teams based on the votes of all PFWA members. A few Raiders players showed up in the results.

Making the All-NFL team was RB Josh Jacobs and K Daniel Carlson. Both also made the All-AFC teams along with WR Davante Adams and DE Maxx Crosby.

For what it’s worth, all four received All-NFL votes from me.

Here are all the full PFWA teams.

The latest awards came out today. It was the PFWA All-NFL and All-conference teams. And the Raiders are fairly well represented.

Making the All NFL team on special teams was punter AJ Cole. He, of course, was also named to the All-AFC team. Cole was also named to the AP All-Pro team.

Missing the All-NFL team, but making the All-AFC team were Raiders DE Maxx Crosby and LT Kolton Miller.

Daniel Carlson made Second Team AP All-Pro but missed out on both the PFWA All-NFL Team and All-AFC team because First-Team All-Pro Justin Tucker was All-NFL and he plays in the AFC.

Khalil Mack, Cordarrelle Patterson named to PFWA All-NFL Team

The Bears might not have achieved their goal in 2020, but there were some impressive performances in a season unlike any other.

The Chicago Bears might not have achieved their goal of a championship in 2020, but there were some impressive performances in a season unlike any other.

Outside linebacker Khalil Mack and kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson were named to the 2020 All-NFL team, which is voted on by members of the Pro Football Writers of America.

Mack had 47 total tackles, nine sacks, 13 quarterback hits, 16 hurries, three forced fumbles, three passes defensed, one interception and one safety. Mack, who was voted to the All-Pro second team, was Pro Football Focus’ highest-graded edge rusher with a 92.3.

Patterson once agains showed why he’s the NFL’s best kickoff returner. He returned a kickoff for a touchdown back in Week 10, which tied him for the most kick returns of all-time with eight. He averaged 29.9 yards per return and garnered a 89.4, the highest PFF grade among returners.

For the second straight season, Patterson was also voted first-team All-Pro and to the Pro Bowl. Patterson is set to become a free agent in March, and if the Bears can sign him to a team-friendly deal, expect him to become a priority.

3 Colts named to PFWA 2020 All-NFL team

A trio of Colts was recognized by the PFWA.

The Indianapolis Colts had three players named to the 2020 All-NFL team, voted by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA).

Those three players include left guard Quenton Nelson, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and safety George Odum. All three players were also named to the All-Pro first team by the Associated Press.

While this was Nelson’s third time making the team, both Buckner and Odum are first time selections by the PFWA. Along with Buckner at the defensive tackle position was Los Angeles Rams’ Aaron Donald.

Odum made the squad as a special teams player, which is also the fashion in which he was recognized as an All-Pro.

The PFWA also made an All-AFC team. Along with the trio above, linebacker Darius Leonard—also an All-Pro—and center Ryan Kelly were recognized on the AFC squad.
