Ranking the Pac-12 QBs through Week 10 according to PFF

As the season is winding down, Oregon’s Bo Nix is making his way to the top of the QB rankings.

Well, this is an interesting development.

Before the season began, and rightly so, it was assumed that after all was said and done, USC’s Caleb Williams would eventually make his way to the top of the PFF quarterback rankings.

The Trojan signal-caller has been the No. 1 rated QB for a few weeks now, but a surprising candidate is closing in. Most people thought Bo Nix would be good, but no one thought he would be this good.

If Nix is able to play up to his previous level in the next three games, it wouldn’t be such a shock to see the Oregon Duck be the best quarterback in the Pac-12 in 2022.

As for the rest of the field, there wasn’t a lot of movement in the rankings.

Ranking the Pac-12 QBs through Week 9 according to PFF

With just four weeks left in the regular season, the Pac-12 quarterback rankings are about what we all expected at the beginning of the season.

It’s hard to believe, but the 2022 college football season is getting to be on its last legs. Big games and conference championship games are right around the corner.

The Pac-12 quarterback rankings, according to PFF, are also winding down and although there have been some ups and downs, the rankings are taking form. For a week, it looked like the rankings were settling down, but then just seven days later, more chaos ensued.

Now with just four weeks left, the top three quarterbacks in the Pac-12 have separated themselves from the rest of the group. Now the only question is who will be No. 1 when the regular season ends.

Utah’s Cameron Rising is battling some sort of knee injury and his play could be affected in November. But for now, he’s right where everyone expects him to be.

Ranking the Pac-12 QBs through Week 8: Bo Nix is finally getting respect from PFF

It took eight weeks, but Oregon’s Bo Nix’s ranking is finally shooting toward the top of the Pac-12 QB rankings, according to PFF.

The two top quarterbacks in the Pac-12, at least according to PFF, had a bye week, so the No. 3 spot was up for grabs.

Oregon quarterback Bo Nix has been vastly underrated in these rankings and we wondered what did he have to do in order to move up. We might have found out as Nix torched then No. 10 UCLA for five touchdowns, propelling him up the rankings at long last.

In other quarterback news, Colorado keeps changing signal callers and it didn’t work out in Corvallis. And speaking of Corvallis, there might be a Wally Pip/Lou Gehrig situation going on in the Beaver program as backup Ben Gulbranson is doing everything he can to remove that backup title and become the permanent starter.

This coming week should be interesting as the top two quarterbacks have dangerous road games up ahead, including a Thursday night game in very hostile territory.

Ranking the Pac-12 QBs through Week 7: Maybe winning does matter after all

The Pac-12 quarterback rankings may finally have stabilized after a couple of huge upsets in the conference.

In last week’s Pac-12 quarterback rankings, we questioned whether actually winning games had an effect on the Pro Football Focus numbers because it didn’t seem so. Dorian Thompson-Robinson had won a huge game for UCLA, but his numbers and overall ranking didn’t adjust all that much.

Although the rankings themselves, according to PFF haven’t changed all that much, the numbers for each quarterback may have been properly skewed into a more realistic spot.

One would think a couple of fairly big upsets, such as Stanford defeating Notre Dame and Utah over USC, would throw everything out of whack, but as Lee Corso will say, “Not so fast my friend!”

We also have a new member of the group. Oregon State’s Ben Gulbranson makes an appearance after his second full week at the helm of the Beaver offense. We’re not sure when Chance Nolan will return, so he’s out of the rankings for now.

Ranking the Pac-12 QBs through Week 3: OSU’s Chance Nolan takes a big leap

PFF ranks all 12 starting quarterbacks in the Conference of Champions after Week 3, and OSU’s Chance Nolan moves up in a big way.

The Pac-12 quarterback rankings, according to Pro Football Focus, fluctuated in a big way this week with a particular signal caller in Corvallis taking a big leap thanks to playing an FCS team.

On the other end of the spectrum, Colorado is still having a lot of problems finding the end zone. Although UCLA is winning, the ratings for Dorian Thompson-Robinson say otherwise as his production could be better.

Oregon’s Bo Nix stayed put in the rankings despite a great game with five touchdowns against No. 12. We don’t pretend to understand how these ratings come about, we just report the facts and PFF says Nix is in the middle of the Pac. Here’s how the 12 quarterbacks ranks in the Conference of Champions after Week 3.
