The Nittany Lions put up a good fight at Ohio State last Saturday night, falling 33-24. It was a one-score game into the fourth quarter, and the Lions outgained the Buckeyes 361-305 through the air.
The Terrapins outlasted Indiana 38-35 in College Park, snapping a three-game losing skid. However, Maryland is still 0-4 ATS across the past four outings, with Over sitting at 3-1. That’s because the defense has been trash, allowing 34 or more points in each of the four outings.

Penn State (-400) is just too expensive at this number, especially on the road against a Maryland (+300) side with an identical record.
AVOID.
Against the spread
MARYLAND +9.5 (-105) has the offensive weapons to make this a very entertaining mid-afternoon game. Unfortunately for the Terps, I think the defense will be their undoing yet again, keeping them from securing bowl eligibility for now.
Penn State -9.5 (-115) won’t cover the number, but they will hang on for the road win, and its sixth victory of the season.
Over/Under
The biggest winner will be those betting OVER 56.5 (-108). Maryland’s defense is a sieve, and Penn State looked awfully efficient on offense last week in Columbus, Ohio, going for 361 passing yards and 24 points.
QB Sean Clifford and WR Jahan Dotson have developed great chemistry, and they’re going to go off in this game against Maryland’s subpar back end.
