Penn State at Nebraska men’s basketball: How to watch on TV and live stream on Saturday

Penn State travels to face one of the country’s best home teams worst while to trying to shake off its two game skid.

The Penn State men’s basketball team fell victim to another close loss on Wednesday, as Michigan State left State College with just its second road victory. The Nittany Lions will aim to snap its two-game skid when they end in Lincoln on Saturday to face the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

It was a tough loss against the Spartans for several reasons, but perhaps none bigger than shooting 12/23 from the 3-point line and still coming away with a loss. [autotag]Ace Baldwin Jr.[/autotag] and [autotag]Zach Hicks[/autotag] each scored 15 points to lead Penn State.

Penn State is only 6-8 in Big Ten play and hasn’t had much success on the road this season, only going 2-5. Nebraska has not lost a Big Ten game at home and has only lost once at home all season. The Cornhuskers haven’t played in a week after beating Michigan at home 79-59 on February 10.

Guard Keisei Tominaga paces the Nebraska offense with 14 points per game and averages 2.2 3-pointers per contest so the Penn State 3-point defense that ranks third in the Big Ten will be critical.

Penn State guard [autotag]Kanye Clary[/autotag] was held to just 8 points against Michigan State in his return to the starting lineup, so a back-to-normal offensive night for the sophomore guard would be a massive boost for the Nittany Lions.

The Cornhuskers are one of the toughest teams in the country when playing at home, so Penn State will have to be clicking on all cylinders to come away with the victory.

Here is how to watch Saturday afternoon’s Big Ten action from Lincoln.

Penn State vs. Michigan State men’s basketball: How to watch on TV and live stream on Wednesday

Penn State welcomes in one of the Big Ten’s worst road teams this season while looking to build off a strong showing at home this season.

After a tough 68-63 loss on the road in Evanston, which snapped the Nittany Lions’ three-game win streak, Penn State’s men’s basketball team will head home to take on the Michigan State Spartans on Wednesday evening.

Penn State was blown out by Michigan State 92-61 in early January, but the Spartans have not looked like the top-five preseason team they were before the season began. With surprise losses to Minnesota and Nebraska of late, the struggling Spartans present a good litmus test for the Nittany Lions, who are dominant at home with a 10-3 record.

Last time out against Michigan State, Penn State couldn’t slow down the Spartans, who shot 56% from the field and 47% from the 3-point line. [autotag]Kanye Clary[/autotag] scored 21 points, but no one else helped him on the offensive end. Still returning from an injury, Clary came off the bench the last two games, but he seems likely to return to the starting lineup for Wednesday’s game.

The Spartans are coming off a home win against ranked Illinois and are looking to make a push into March. Michigan State is only 1-5 on the road, with its only win coming in late January against Maryland, so a great home team against a lackluster road team matches up nicely for the Nittany Lions.

Here is how to watch the Wednesday evening Big Ten basketball contest at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Penn State vs. Iowa men’s basketball: How to watch on TV and live stream on Thursday

Kanye Clary’s status is once again in question as Iowa visit Penn State at home having won its last two games.

After being unable to win a road game for the whole season up until last week, Penn State has now won back-to-back games away from the Bryce Jordan Center against Rutgers and Indiana. With seemingly good momentum back on their side, the Nittany Lions will host the Iowa Hawkeyes in a battle for sole possession of ninth place in the Big Ten standings.

Penn State’s second road win of the year against the Hoosiers came without its leading scorer, [autotag]Kanye Clary[/autotag], but [autotag]Ace Baldwin Jr.[/autotag] stepped up in a big way, scoring 22 points on 8-14 shooting. With the Nittany Lions back at a .500 overall record, head coach [autotag]Mike Rhoades[/autotag] can try to steer his team back towards a possible run at meaningful March basketball.

Like Penn State, Iowa has struggled to find consistency this season, with a record of 13-9 overall. The Hawkeyes are coming off a win at home against Ohio State and own the second-best offense in the Big Ten, scoring 84.2 points per game. Baldwin Jr.’s defense will be vital in slowing Hawkeyes’ guard Tony Perkins, who paces Iowa, averaging 15.7 ppg.

According to Rhoades, Clary’s status for the game is “day-to-day,” so whether he plays tomorrow evening will likely not come until tomorrow pre-game. Clary suiting up for the contest would be a massive boost for the Nittany Lions offense, even though they played well without him last weekend in Indiana.

Here is how to catch Thursday night’s Big Ten action from the Bryce Jordan Center between Penn State and Iowa.

Penn State basketball picks up massive road win over Indiana

Penn State basketball storms out of Indiana with massive Big Ten win.

For much of the season, Penn State had been a completely different team on the road compared to at home playing in the Bryce Jordan Center.

This week was going to be a huge test for the Nittany Lions as they had two consecutive road games at tough places to play.

They earned a gritty victory over Rutgers and headed out to Indiana for a massive Saturday matchup and to play in a place they hadn’t won since 2014.

Once again, Penn State would have to compete without their leading scorer [autotag]Kanye Clary[/autotag], and once again, they were able to pull off an upset win.

This might have been the most complete game the Nittany Lions have played all season, beating the Indiana Hoosiers 85-71.

It started out tough, getting into a 10-point hole about seven minutes into the game. That deficit largely stayed for the majority of the first half, until three-pointers started to fall and they entered halftime down 41-37.

Penn State took their first lead of the game just about four minutes into the second half after back-to-back threes from [autotag]Zach Hicks[/autotag] and [autotag]Ace Baldwin[/autotag] to make it 45-43.

Similarly to what they did against Rutgers, once the Nittany Lions grabbed the lead, they never gave it back.

Their defense stifled much of what Indiana could do in the second half and allowed their offense to continue operating at a high level.

Baldwin was spectacular, scoring 22 points on 8-14 shooting while adding eight assists, but it was the role players who stepped up in big way and got Penn State an important Quad 2 victory.

Hicks had his best game in a Nittany Lions jersey. He made four threes on 50-percent shooting, finishing with 19 points, five rebounds and two steals.

[autotag]Jameel Brown[/autotag] lit it up coming off the bench, hitting four threes of his own to score 14 points.

[autotag]Qudus Wahab[/autotag] continues to give Penn State the much-needed size they’ve been missing. Not only did he battle inside, but he was an offensive threat in the post, scoring 14 points, while also pulling down seven rebounds.

Coach [autotag]Mike Rhoades[/autotag] has said he thinks this team is close, no matter how things have looked to begin the year.

It seems like he was right as the Nittany Lions picked up their second consecutive road win.

Penn State basketball gets signature upset win over No. 8 Wisconsin

Penn State upset no. 8 Wisconsin!!!

This season has not exactly gone smoothly for Penn State this season, but they were able to get the first signature win of the [autotag]Mike Rhoades[/autotag] era with a massive 87-83 victory over the no. 8 Wisconsin Badgers on Tuesday night.

After a snow day canceled class for the day, students were given free tickets and half price on chicken baskets to come see the Nittany Lions play at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The arena was packed and they were treated to the best moment of Penn State’s season so far.

The Nittany Lions got out of the gates quickly when [autotag]Ace Baldwin[/autotag] hit a three-pointer to start things off. Their hot start to the game quickly put Wisconsin in chase mode and Penn State was able to get an early 10 point lead five minutes into the half.

They held this lead for the entire first half, never trailing the ranked Badgers for one second.

In the past, the Nittany Lions have failed to piece together 40 minutes of solid basketball. Rhoades implored his team to clean up mistakes before this game to give themselves an opportunity to win.

They accomplished that and then some.

Despite Wisconsin constantly knocking on the door, threatening to take the lead, Penn State kept attacking and making shots, answering anything the Badgers did in their attempted comeback.

Things got dicey with five minutes left as the Badgers took a 70-68 lead following made three-pointer from Max Klesmit.

However, [autotag]Nick Kern[/autotag] made four-straight free throws on back-to-back possession to give the Nittany Lions a 72-70 lead once again.

They never trailed again, inducing the crowd to storm the court after pulling off their first win over a top-15 team since Jan. 30, 2021.

[autotag]Kanye Clary[/autotag] was spectacular once again, scoring a game-high 27 points and adding four rebounds and three assists. 19 of those points were in the second half.

Baldwin might have had his best game in a Nittany Lions uniform, scoring 20 points on 7-11 shooting and hitting four out of his five three-pointers after making his first four attempted. For a player struggling with his long-range shooting, this was a great sign.

Kern was inserted into the starting lineup and had his third-straight game scoring double-digits with 15 points.

This was the best Penn State has played in the Rhoades era and it was fitting they were able to pull off a major upset.

Tuesday night could be the moment the season turns around for the Nittany Lions.

Penn State basketball recruit in attendance for win against Michigan

Penn State basketball had a key recruit in the stands in Philly to watch the big win over Michigan.

Penn State basketball got a much needed victory in Philadelphia this past Sunday against Michigan.

This was their second trip to The Palestra in as many seasons, but this time, they came away with a 79-72 win in front of a sold-out crowd.

It didn’t seem like that was in the cards early on as they entered halftime with a 10 point deficit. But, they exploded in the second half, scoring 52 points, to leave The Cathedral of College Basketball with a victory, pushing their season record to 8-7 and 2-2 in conference play.

[autotag]Ace Baldwin[/autotag] had his best game since joining Penn State, finishing with his Big Ten career high 25 points and adding four assists and three steals.

While this is certainly a moral booster for the players currently in the program, it also could give the Nittany Lions momentum for one of their top class of 2025 recruits, [autotag]Matt Gilhool[/autotag], who was in attendance.

The 6’10” forward is listed as the 94th player in the country and No. 4 in Pennsylvania according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

He spoke with Dushawn London of 247Sports about his recruitment and where he stands with Penn State (subscription required).

Gilhool said he’s a fan of how the Nittany Lions play and how they envision his role as a versatile big man with the team. He’s been in contact with the coaching staff but was looking forward to seeing them in person again when he attended their game at The Palestra in an unofficial fashion.

As of now, the only place he’s taken an official visit to is Syracuse, but he’s not narrowing his focus onto any one school or group of schools in particular at this moment.

He told London his recruitment is very open right now and is listening to every school who is interested in him before ultimately cutting his list down in the spring or early summer.

That timeline is a rough estimate, but he said he’d like to give a commitment in the fall during his senior year.

Gilhool would be a great addition for Penn State, adding size and versatility, while landing a Top-100 player in the country and one of the best in the state.

This recruitment process will be one to continue monitoring.

Rutgers basketball recruiting: Two Big Ten teams offer Scarlet Knights target Darrion Sutton

Two new Big Ten offers came in on Monday for Rutgers basketball recruiting target Darrion Sutton.

Darrion Sutton, a small forward originally from Missouri, pulled in two Big Ten offers on Monday, adding to what is already an impressive offer list.

Per the player’s social media account, he was offered by Michigan and Penn State.

Sutton, a consensus three-star recruit, is ranked the No. 141 player in the nation according to Rivals. He attends Accelerated Prep (Lakewood, CO).

A forward, Sutton is 6-foot-10 and is a dominant interior player. He rebounds well, is a force in the paint and moves well for his size. He is bouncy in the post.

He took an unofficial visit to Rutgers in January. He was offered by the Scarlet Knights this past October.

Earlier this month, Sutton was offered by Cincinnati, Illinois and Missouri.

The 2024 recruiting class for Rutgers basketball is strong and is ranked among the best in the nation. It features five-star recruit Airious ‘Ace’ Bailey and a pair of four-star players in Dellquan Warren and Lathan Sommerville.

Is Penn State in Joe Lunardi’s early 2024 March Madness field?

Does Penn State make the NCAA Tournament in Joe Lunardi’s early 2024 March Madness Bracketology?

Last season’s March run was not something that Penn State fans will forget anytime soon. When it looked like the team might have played themselves out of the NCAA Tournament field, they flipped the switch entirely and won five out of their last six games to close the season.

Then, in the Big Ten Tournament, Penn State made a magical run to the title game where they lost to number one seeded Purdue by two points.

That run put them into the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2011. This time around, the Nittany Lions won their first NCAA Tournament game since 2001 after they smashed Texas A&M 76-59.

Everything looked to be going smoothly with the program, until coach Micah Shrewsberry left for the Notre Dame job opening. Penn State moved quickly and hired VCU coach [autotag]Mike Rhoades[/autotag] as the next head coach of the Nittany Lions.

Since that point, it’s been a whirlwind getting new players into the program to be able to compete during the upcoming season. Because of that, it’s hard to gauge how the team will perform.

Joe Lunardi released his way too early 2024 Bracketology March Madness predictions with eight Big Ten teams in the field.

Penn State was not one of the teams included.

It looks like they’ll have to prove themselves all over again just like last season and fight their way into the tournament with a group of transfers.

Here are the teams included in Lunardi’s early March Madness field.
