Coming off a come-from-behind win over the Pistons, a game in which they ended up winning by 16 points, the Pelicans will take to the road. This will kick off a short two-game road trip.
Led by F Brandon Ingram, the Pelicans are 12-16 against the spread (ATS) and just 5-9 ATS as road underdogs, although in this one they’ll be extremely slim dogs. San Antonio is 14-11 ATS while 3-1 ATS as home favorites.
The Spurs are coming off a 15-point loss to the Spurs. They split the back-to-back with Denver. The Spurs are 5-8 overall at home this season.

Money line
PASS on the money line. Just look to the points for value in this one unless you’re planning to bet New Orleans. The plus-money odds for New Orleans to win is the only playable side of the money line.
Against the spread
BET on the SPURS -1.5 (-120) as the best bet in this one.
The Spurs are coming off a loss and have covered more than 50% of their games following a defeat. As for the Pelicans, they typically don’t cover following a win, just a 2-5 ATS record after wins.
Also, San Antonio PF Keldon Johnson should have the size to deal with Ingram, and the Spurs, especially with them nearing full strength, have the depth to outlast New Orleans.
The Spurs rank in the top half of the league in defensive rebounding and sixth in turnover rate. They can rebound and not turn the ball over.
With the Pelicans ranking third in offensive rebounding, I expect the Spurs to limit what New Orleans does best. Without those extra opportunities, the Pelicans may struggle to score.
Over/Under
“LEAN” to the UNDER 220.5 (-107) as both teams rank in the bottom 10 of offensive rating, and the Spurs should be able to take away the Pelicans main key to easy buckets, offensive rebounding.
The Spurs are 13-10-2 O/U, however, New Orleans is just 11-17 O/U.
The Unders, especially in the NBA, have been the better way to win a bet and considering these two don’t have the most-lethal offenses, it feels like the better way to play the total.
