Tyron Woodley paid a fan $5,000 for making a creative meme of his knockout loss to Jake Paul.
Tyron Woodley could be curled up in a ball right now in a dark room, and nobody would blame him. But ever since he was brutally knocked out by YouTube-star-turned-boxer Jake Paul last Saturday night, the former UFC welterweight champion has handled the devastating defeat like a professional and with a positive attitude.
Woodley is leaning into it, and three days later, he’s even having fun with it.
Case in point: On Tuesday, Woodley announced that he paid a fan $5,000 for creating the best meme depicting the vicious knockout in which he was face-planted onto the canvas.
The meme is pretty great. Created by Instagram user @chrisashley, it shows Woodley face-planting through the canvas and into another dimension where he eventually falls onto a sofa in a room with Conor McGregor, Ben Askren and Nate Robinson all knocked out – the latter two of which also were by Paul.

Through 17 minutes and 11 seconds on Saturday, the boxing rematch between Paul and Tyron Woodley resembled the first fight, with little offense from both men.
And then: BOOM.
Paul found a moment in which he faked low and then went high, landing a thunderous overhand right hand to Woodley’s face that sent the former UFC welterweight champion’s stiff body crashing face first to the canvas at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.
Just like that it was over: Paul by knockout at the 2:12 mark of Round 6.
“I told you I was gonna f*ck him up, and I f*cked him up!” Paul proclaimed afterward.
Paul was up on all three judges’ scorecards 49-46, 48-47, 49-46 in the fight that was scheduled for eight rounds.
Paul originally was supposed to fight Tommy Fury, who pulled out two weeks ago because of injury. That’s when Woodley stepped in to take the rematch he had long been campaigning for ever since losing a split decision in their first bout this past August.

After making waves in the boxing world, Jake Paul may soon enter the cage for an MMA fight.
Paul is days away from a boxing rematch with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley which takes place on Saturday in Tampa, Fla., but teased competing in the sweet science may not be his only venture in combat sports.
“People seem to forget that I was a state wrestler, Division 1 in Ohio, one of the hardest wrestling states,” Paul explained during a media scrum following Thursday’s pre-fight news conference. “I don’t see why if I can do boxing at this high of a level that I couldn’t do MMA at this high of a level.
“I’m gonna go get coached up by Jav Mendez, Team Khabib, and that’s that. They’re down, 100 percent.”
According to ESPN, Paul and Mendez have engaged in discussions about training at American Kickboxing Academy in the future. Paul says he would like to secure double-digit wins in boxing before making the transition to the cage.
Mendez is the famed trainer of former UFC champions such as Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov, among many other rising stars at AKA.
During the official pre-fight news conference in Miami, Paul initially expressed his interest to fight in MMA. “It will happen at some point, 100 percent,” Paul stated.
Woodley immediately replied, cutting off Paul’s statements to challenge him to an MMA fight.
“You a lie,” Woodley stated. “Let’s do MMA then. Let’s do this MMA after we do this boxing so I can elbow you in the head and knee you in the nugget.”
While Paul holds a win over Woodley in the boxing ring via split decision, he is unsure of who his opponent would be in an MMA bout and when the potential fight would take place.

It was a humiliating punishment befitting of a boxing match between a YouTuber and retired mixed martial artist: The loser must get the winner’s name tattooed on his body.
But did Tyron Woodley really get “I love Jake Paul” tatted on him in the aftermath of his split-decision loss to Jake Paul in August? That was a prerequisite before Paul would agree to fight Woodley a second time on Saturday in Tampa, although he was originally scheduled to face Tommy Fury.
Well, yes. Everything points to Woodley making good on the embarrassing tattoo.
About a month after the fight, the former UFC star took to his Instagram account to show off the tattoo, which he got on his middle finger.
Rather clever, considering even in defeat he’s giving Paul the … well, you know. Not to mention, finger tattoos are known to fade. Some even in a mere matter of a few months. So, it likely won’t be permanent.
DAZN News left a message for renowned tattoo artist Katherine Flores, aka Tatu Baby, on Tuesday to learn why finger tattoos fade, but the call wasn’t immediately returned. Tatu Baby was originally slated to ink Woodley, but the opportunity never presented itself. He went with another artist to honor the bet.
Woodley was immediately challenged about the authenticity of the tattoo by fellow former UFC fighter Dan Hardy. But Woodley responded to him, too, attempting to silence all his critics in the process.
He even addressed the ink on Showtime’s All Access, building up to Saturday night’s rematch between Paul and him.
“I love Jake Paul … where can I get it at?” Woodley can be seen in the Showtime clip pondering. “Right here,” he said as he raised up the middle finger of his left hand while grinning.
Woodley further explained how even though he fulfilled his end of the bargain that Paul spited him by signing on to fight Tyson Fury’s younger brother, Tommy Fury, instead.
“He’s not a man of his word by the way,” Woodley said. “… I get the tattoo. I waited around all f—ing night. I didn’t hear nothing from him, his management team. I ain’t heard nothing from him.
“The first time I found out that we were not rematching was when they announced he was fighting Tommy. I’m like, [Paul’s] a b—h.”
But Woodley continued to train and remained ready in case of a hiccup with the proposed Paul-Fury tilt Dec. 18. That hiccup came in the form of Fury improbably pulling out of the bout.
Enter Woodley, who stepped in to save the card and immediately renew their rivalry, “I love Jake Paul’ tattoo intact.
Perhaps the ink wager can be part of the rematch, too. It’s only apt for Paul-Woodley II.

Tyron Woodley promised to knock out Jake Paul in their rematch.
Editor’s note: This article was originally published at MMAJunkie.com.
Tyron Woodley wasn’t Jake Paul’s initial opponent choice for Dec. 18, but the former UFC champion has been preparing to fight him anyway.
With Tommy Fury out as a result of health and injury problems, Woodley will get his rematch against Paul when he steps in on two weeks’ notice to face the YouTube star in an eight-round boxing match at Amelie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
Paul (4-0, 3 KOs) defeated Woodley (0-1) by a split decision this past August, but it didn’t come without a bit of adversity. Woodley was able to knock Paul into the ropes in Round 4, but overall, Woodley was tentative while Paul was more active.
Woodley has been campaigning for a rematch ever since the fight ended and had an inkling that he would get his wish eventually, which is why he’s been training hard for the past couple of months.

“I want to let you guys know I’m excited about this fight,” Woodley said on Instagram (h/t MMA Crazy). “I also want to let you guys know that something told me end of September, beginning of October, I told my boxing coach, ‘My spirit ain’t sitting right. The fight that’s supposed to happen is me and Jake. This Tommy Fury fight doesn’t even make f—ing sense. Like, who gives a f— about that fight? Nobody does.’ This fight was unfinished business. I feel like I won the fight.
“Of course, do I want to knock this motherf—-r out? Yeah, I wanted to knock him the f— out. But the cookie crumbled the way it did, and I feel like it’s been a movie from the beginning. I told my coach that, and I didn’t just speak it and tell him that, I said, ‘Watch what I’m telling you.’ I told my strength and conditioning coach, and I told my boxing coach, ‘This fight ain’t gonna happen. Let’s train as if we are fighting for this f—ing fight.’ I flew him in from Miami – my strength and conditioning coach is already in St. Louis – and I literally started training.”
“One thing I know for sure, my spirit has never been f—ing wrong,” Woodley said. “My intuition, my alignment – so when I got the call, it was kind of funny because sometimes people call you and they think you out of shape. They think you fat, and they think you greasy, and they think you not ready. I was ready, and I’m so thankful.”
He continued, “I’m f—ing in shape. I’m ready to f—ing go. I sparred 12 rounds the other day. I sparred seven rounds last night around the same time I’m gonna fight, midnight, 1 a.m.. I’m f—ing excited, and I’m thankful, and I’m blessed. I’m blessed for the opportunity, and I promise you I didn’t even hesitate.
“That motherf—-r can say a lot of s—. If you ask the people, when they asked me, within moments, ‘yes’ was the first thing that came out of my mouth. What the f— you mean? … No doubt, no controversy, no bulls—, no shenanigans. He’s going to f—ing sleep, I promise you that.”
