Tommy Fury definitely in for the crossover fights, but will eventually ‘return to proper boxing’

Tommy Fury is committed to influencer boxing – for now.

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia – [autotag]Tommy Fury[/autotag] is committed to influencer boxing – for now.

Fury remained unbeaten when he defeated influencer KSI by majority decision less than two weeks ago in the main event of Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card. His win came months after he edged out Jake Paul by split decision.

Although his recent results haven’t been his most impressive showings, Fury is content to keep competing in crossover fights for the time being.

“I’m definitely in for the crossover fights,” Fury told MMA Junkie. “I want to be a part of that. I want to keep doing massive events because financially, it’s great, and it’s great to be part of these massive events. But you know what? After it’s all said and done, I will return back to proper boxing and I’ll test myself against the best.”

Fury admitted his fight against KSI wasn’t the most entertaining, but put the blame on his opponent.

“It is what it is: One guy was there to fight and one guy was there to do star jumps and run around,” Fury said. “At the end of the day, it was what it was. It wasn’t much of a fight, which I was upset about because I wanted to put on a great show for the fans and all the other guy wanted to do is run around all night. I’ll give the fans a good show next time, don’t you worry about that. But we got the win (against KSI), and on to the next.”

Tyson Fury’s split decision win over Francis Ngannou gets reaction from father John, brother Tommy

Watch John and Tommy Fury react to Tyson’s split decision win over Francis Ngannou.

Two key [autotag]Tyson Fury[/autotag] family members were proud with what they saw from him Saturday.

The WBC heavyweight champion came back from adversity to defeat Francis Ngannou by split decision in a non-title bout in Saudi Arabia. Tyson was knocked down in the third round of their fight, which was ex-UFC champ Ngannou’s boxing debut, but came back to win a decision over the remaining seven rounds of the fight.

Tyson’s father John and his boxer brother think Tyson displayed the “heart of a champion” and why he’s considered by many to be the best boxer in the heavyweight division.

Check out the video from Seconds Out of their reaction above.

Tommy Fury wants Conor McGregor next: ‘I’ll 100 percent share the ring with him’

All Conor McGregor has to do is say the word, and Tommy Fury would gladly fight the UFC star he admires.

[autotag]Tommy Fury[/autotag] doesn’t want to be confined to the Paul brothers and the KSIs of the world.

Having defeated arguably the two biggest influencer boxers in 2023, Fury would be interested in looking elsewhere for his next fight. Fury, the half-brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is interested in fighting UFC star [autotag]Conor McGregor[/autotag].

“I’m at the head of the table now,” Fury told Fight Hub TV when asked about his standing in influencer boxing. “We’ll sit down with the whole team and address what’s next, but who says it has to be the Pauls? Who says it has to be KSI?

“I would love to share the ring with Conor McGregor, and if Conor wants it next, I’ll 100 percent share the ring with him. I’m a fan of Conor McGregor. I like him. He’s a good man who got me into UFC. If he wants to share the ring, my hand is there, the offer is there. I’ll have Conor next.”

Fury is coming off a majority decision win over KSI this past Saturday in the main event of Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card, which went down at AO Arena in Manchester, England.

When asked about the co-main event of the card, which had Logan Paul defeating Dillon Danis by disqualification, Fury had nothing positive to say about Paul but did have good words for Danis.

“Logan Paul is absolutely useless,” Fury said. “Logan Paul was 10 times more useless than me tonight, and I was pretty useless tonight, but Logan Paul is sh*te. I thought Dillon Danis did a spectacular performance because at the end of the day, Danis has never done a fight before. (Logan) had just come off sharing the ring with Mayweather, juiced up to the gills. He can’t do the rounds, can he? He was f*cked from Round 2.

“I’m not interested in Logan Paul and his fight. I’m interested in mine. I came out with the W, and now I’m going to celebrate the win with my family.”

Tommy Fury says KSI boxing fight was ‘a horrible watch,’ but blames opponent

Tommy Fury calls his boxing match against KSI ‘a horrible watch,’ but says the blame should go elsewhere.

[autotag]Tommy Fury[/autotag] knows his fight with influencer [autotag]KSI[/autotag] was not good. It was far from it.

The professional boxer and reality T.V. star thinks his fight against KSI in the main event of Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card was a bad display of boxing.

The bout took place Saturday at AO Arena in Manchester, England. Fury won the fight by majority decision, as two judges scored the fight 57-56, while a third saw the fight as a draw.

“We knew it was going to be an awful fight,” Fury told Fight Hub TV. “My dad predicted this a week ago. He said it was going to be a very scrappy fight, it was going to be a horrible watch, and that’s exactly what it was.

“I’m not going to beat around the bush. Was it my best performance? No, very far from it, and it was a horrible watch. I haven’t watched it back yet. At the end of the day, what do you want it to be when just one man wants to hop up and down and not engage? In traditional boxing, you stand there and you fight. You don’t up and down the ring and jump in with a little shot. So it’s a scrappy, scrappy affair. Everyone knows what we’re doing. We all know KSI is awkward anyway. He’s not a boxer. He’s a horrible man to fight.”

[lawrence-related id=2688442,2688432]

Fury also had a point deducted for a shot in the back of the head. Fury thinks the referee favored his opponent, as KSI didn’t get a point deduction for clinching. He believes this didn’t help promote the action.

“Listen, the ref was on his side, clearly,” Fury said. “He never took a point off him the whole fight. He was holding the whole fight and every time I was putting my hands out like that, and he was holding. He was just jumping in with one shot and then holding. I was pressing all the time, and I was pushing and doing everything on the inside. I was pressing the pace and that’s what matters. KSI can’t just jump up and down and lunge in a shot and hold. What is that?

“… It is what it is. I came out with the W on my own town Manchester like I aid I would, and I thank Jesus Christ every single day for everything he gives me.”

Darren Till stunned by ‘sh*te’ boxing on The PRIME Card: ‘Hell won tonight… That’s how bad it was’

Darren Till was stunned at how bad the boxing quality of Saturday’s The PRIME Card was.

[autotag]Darren Till[/autotag] was not impressed with what he saw on Saturday at The PRIME Card.

Till, a former UFC title challenger, was present for Misfits Boxing’s event at AO Arena in Manchester, England. It was headlined by a pair of boxing fights, [autotag]Tommy Fury[/autotag] vs. [autotag]KSI[/autotag] and [autotag]Logan Paul[/autotag] vs. [autotag]Dillon Danis[/autotag].

With the event in the books, Till was stunned about how low the quality of the boxing displayed that night was.

“Hell won tonight because we’re living in hell right now. That’s how bad it was,” Till told Seconds Out.

In the co-main event, Danis was out-struck by Paul, before he attempted to grapple and was disqualified.

Till respects Danis for his jiu-jitsu, but was not complimentary of his boxing against Paul.

“He’s terrible,” Till said. “He’s a great jiu-jitsu fighter. … Dillon Danis is a jiu-jitsu fighter. He’s not a boxer. He’s f*cking sh*te. He’s sh*te. They’re all sh*te. What do you want me to say? I’m standing here for one of them to even look at me and say one thing. They’re all sh*te.”

Till mutually agreed with the UFC to terminate his contract earlier this year. and is now a free agent. He went to spectate at The PRIME Card, but also to see if there were any potential fights of interest.

He found none.

“I don’t have much to say,” Till said. “I came here looking for some fights and no one, only ‘Platinum’ Mike Perry wants to fight with me. He’s a proper, real fighter.

“Listen, Tommy Fury, I’ve said it to other people: God bless him. He’s a good guy and I like his family, but he’s awful and they’re all awful. I’d f*cking fight everyone in one night. I’d comatose them all, I promise you. I’m in the best gym right now in Liverpool.”

Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card results: Tommy Fury loses point, still wins majority nod vs. KSI

Even with a point deduction, Tommy Fury was declared the winner over KSI in the Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card main event in England.

Despite a point deduction, [autotag]Tommy Fury[/autotag] remained undefeated by picking up a close victory in his hometown against KSI.

The professional boxing bout scheduled for six three-minute rounds was the main event of [autotag]Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card[/autotag] at AO Arena in Manchester, England. The event aired live on DAZN and ESPN Plus pay-per-view. Two judges saw the fight 57-56 in Fury’s favor, while a third saw the fight as a draw, resulting in a majority decision win for Fury (10-0) over KSI (1-1).

The fight got off to a quick start as KSI bounced around light on his feet with a sideways stance. Fury, keeping a more traditional boxing stance, came forward with punches while being cautious of the quick, darting movements of KSI. After both missed with big punches causing a clinch, a short punch from Fury landed to the back of the head leading to pause in the action, and complaints from KSI.

Fury repeated the same action in the closing moment of the first round, and again in the first minute of Round 2. The referee saw enough of the illegal strike and docked Fury a point. When the fight resumed, KSI landed clean right hands before they brawled in the clinch.

The referee was busy breaking up clinches in Round 3, but both fighters found a home for a couple of clean punches. Fury got the better it though, as he connected with a few nice left hooks as KSI attempted to close the distance.

In Round 4, Fury looked to counter the fast movement from KSI with more lefts. Once again, the referee was forced to break up multiple clinches. The round concluded with Fury unleashing a combination as the bell sounded.

When KSI threw first, Fury slipped the punch, resulting in a clinch. The same occurred when Fury offered and KSI ducked. Most of Round 5 was spent in close quarters, aside from an exchange in the closing seconds.

The fight was close going into the final round. With both needing to put a stamp on the fight, the final frame saw more exchanges in space. KSI and Fury landed in exchanges, but as the fight went to the scorecards, it was unclear who would be announced the winner.

Two of the judges thought Fury did enough to earn the win.

During his post-fight interview, Fury said he had to work through an injury in the closing stages of fight camp, but did not want to make excuses for his performance. He also made it clear he has no intention to live up to his brother Tyson’s boxing legacy, but is happy to be able to provide for his family with each boxing bout.

While Fury was humble in victory, the result did not sit well with KSI.

“Robbery,” KSI said. “How many jabs did he land? … I’m the YouTuber, you’re the boxer. I understand you have to win.”

Video: KSI, Tommy Fury have bizarre faceoff separated by plexiglass inside small cage

Ahead of Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card, KSI and Tommy Fury came face-to-face – sort of.

In the world of influencer boxing, it’s always good to expect the unexpected.

At Thursday’s pre-fight news conference for Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card, there were plenty of out-of-left-field moments. Among them was a faceoff between [autotag]KSI[/autotag] and [autotag]Tommy Fury[/autotag], that was far from run-of-the-mill.

KSI and Fury came face-to-face – sort of. A thick layer of plexiglass was between them while they stood in a small cage. The two boxers yapped at one another until Fury’s father, John Fury, entered the cage and attempted to smash the glass with punches and shoulders. Security restrained John Fury and he was removed from the cage.

Misfits Boxing: The PRIME Card takes place Saturday at AO Arena in Manchester, England, with the main card on DAZN pay-per-view. The six-round match between KSI and Fury sits atop the card, which also features Logan Paul vs. Dillon Danis.

Paul and Danis also took part in the news conference just before KSI and Fury took the stage. That segment concluded with an on-stage brawl.
