Former Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley has announced on Twitter that he will play overseas in the EuroLeague.
Former Philadelphia 76ers guard Patrick Beverley has found a new home. After the Sixers sent Beverley away to the Milwaukee Bucks at the deadline in a deal that sent Cam Payne to Philadelphia, Beverley will head overseas to play in the EuroLeague.
He announced via “The Pat Bev Pod”‘s official Twitter account that he is heading overseas due to a big offer to join Hapoel Tel Aviv BC. In 73 games split between the Sixers and the Bucks, Beverley averaged 6.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while shooting 41.7% from the floor overall and 33.7% from deep. He will now bring his hard-nosed style of play to the EuroLeague.
BREAKING: @patbev21 is headed to Europe. “They gave me everything I asked for… I couldn’t refuse.” Says Pat Bev
Beverley has experience playing overseas in the past before he began his NBA with the Houston Rockets. He also played for the Los Angeles Clippers, the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. He has career averages of 8.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.4 assists.
We are a couple of weeks removed from the death of former UCLA Bruins basketball legend Bill Walton. The discussions of Walton are still coming in. Patrick Beveley was on his PatBevPod and was asked about the best announcers in the game of basketball.
Beverley put Walton at the top of his list, and had this to say about the legendary big man:
“Bill Walton. I think it should be a Bill Walton award. For the best announcer of the year.”
Beverley went to Doris Burke second on his list, Mike Breen was third, Kevin Harlan came in fourth and Hubie Brown rounded out the list.

Walton passed away at the age of 71 on May 27th, 2024. Walton played his College Basketball at UCLA from 1971-1974. He then was the first overall draft pick in the 1974 draft by the Portland Trail Blazers. During his time at UCLA, he won two national titles and was part of an amazing 88 game winning streak.
On Thursday, the NBA revealed that the guard would be suspended four games for his antics with Indiana fans and the said ESPN media member. It’s not entirely clear how the league came to the conclusion that Beverley got four games. For example, Jamal Murray threw objects near a referee and technically didn’t get anything but a substantial fine.
It is nonetheless a well-deserved punishment for someone who dangerously threw things at fans and made all the wrong headlines in a nationally televised spot.
The real rub of this suspension is that Beverley’s contract with the Bucks is up. He is set to be an unrestricted free agent at the age of 35. Given his age, how little he contributes on offense, and some of his approach to “professionalism,” it’s hard seeing any team chomping at the bit to add an older Beverley to their mix.
On that note, and I really mean this in all seriousness — at least he has more time to focus on trying to get more brazen podcast subscriptions.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Adams had this to say on Friday: “I want to thank everyone for their kind words and support. I am humbled. Patrick Beverley just called me and apologized. I appreciate it and accept it. The Bucks also reached out to apologize. I’ve been in news for over 40 years and kindness and grace always win.”
Well said. That came as current and former colleagues posted their support for her as well:

Veteran producer Malinda Adams happens to be one of the most respected and professional people we have at ESPN. Bev, you’re going to have to make a couple apologies for stuff tonight. https://t.co/KdQ0VuGoyg
That's Malinda Adams, ESPN legend. He's not a big deal. She is. From Saban to LeBron, she's covered the best ever. He ain't that. But I'm sure his podcast is. Lol pic.twitter.com/s3Rt4ws8EZ
As a young producer here at ESPN, Malinda has been so great to work with and learn from. She's one of the best teammates you could ever have, is always supportive of creative ideas and is one of the top people I trust. This is beyond disrespectful and we're all in her corner! https://t.co/UBtwfa9tZd
Just so y’all know, the beautiful soul to whom he directed this foolishness is Malinda Adams, who is among the kindest, hardest-working, best, most-respected people in ALL of media — not just at ESPN — and the dearest of friends to all of her friends. https://t.co/3af7qejtoi
First the disrespect to Michele Roberts in the NBA Bubble in front of other NBA players and now this… He is who he is. Respect to stellar veteran producer Malinda Adams for her professionalism through that silliness. https://t.co/MLkHm2wfTQ
The Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated by the Indiana Pacers last night in the first round NBA’s Eastern Conference playoffs. As things were spiraling on the scoreboard for the Bucks, they took an even worse turn on the bench.
Bucks point guard Patrick Beverley was clearly disturbed by the happenings of the game as I’m sure the home crowd Pacers fans were letting him hear it. He decided to whip a basketball into the stands at a group of fans while having to be restrained by teammates.
A short video of the clip is posted below. In it be sure to watch former Notre Dame star Pat Connaughton who seemingly could not have cared less about any of the happenings around him.

Gooood morning, Winners! Happy Friday! Welcome back to the Morning Win. Thank you so much for rocking with us today.
We all know what sore losing looks like, right? There’s always that one person in your life who just never handles it well. I’m talking about the type of person who turns the PlayStation off instead of taking that L in NBA 2K. The person who flips the Monopoly board over instead of going to jail.
But there’s sore losing, and then there’s Patrick Beverley.
Beverley decided to go beyond being just a sore loser after the Bucks got bounced out of the playoffs. He decided to spend what will undoubtedly be his final moments as a Milwaukee Buck by punching down.
Somehow, the moment he was caught firing the ball back at a fan wasn’t his worst of the night. Shortly after that, in the Bucks locker room, he decided he wasn’t going to talk to an ESPN producer who was just quite literally doing her job. And, in good faith, she expected him to do his because that’s what adults do.
Instead, Beverley acted like a petulant child. He asked her if she subscribed to his podcast. She said no, she doesn’t. He told her she couldn’t talk to him if she wasn’t a subscriberand then he shoved her mic out of the scrum.
Patrick Beverley: "You subscribed to my pod?"
Reporter: "I do not."
Pat Bev: "You can't interview me then. No disrespect."
*A moment later to the reporter*
Pat: "Can you move that mic please or just get out the circle please?"
Look, man. If you don’t want to talk to the media? Cool. I’m not the type to hem and haw over players skipping out on their availability. Good journalists get the job done anyway, as I’m sure the producer there did.
But to single someone out like this? To attempt to embarrass her simply for not subscribing to a silly podcast? That’s rude. It’s completely out of line. There’s no other way to put it.
And, to be quite frank, who does Patrick Beverley think he is? First of all, that little podcast ain’t even good enough for him to demand someone be subscribed before talking to him. If this is a strategy to drive up subscriptions? Whew, buddy. That reeks of desperation. You might as well beg.
Second, is Patrick Beverley even good enough at his job to pull this off? Look. I’m not trying to disrespect an NBA player. Beverley is good enough to be in that league, which is an accomplishment on its own.
Sore losing is one thing. This is another. It’s just Patrick Beverley being a complete jerk to someone who doesn’t deserve it. I hope he realizes that and apologizes.
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a 2-seed vs. 7-seed matchup as good as the Pacers-Knicks series was. It was basically nip-and-tuck all the way through. It’s remarkable how close this series was.
I mean that literally. According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the final scoring margin of this six-game series was just a single point, folks. One. That’s it. That’s all.
Final combined scoring margin over 6 games: Knicks by 1.
The Sixers were better than a No. 7 seed. With Embiid healthy, they were clearly one of the best three teams in the East. This was more like a No. 2 vs. No. 3 seed matchup than anything. It’s a shame we got this series so early in the playoffs.
I’m grateful for it, though. We’ll never forget this one. I just wish we could’ve gotten one more game. Speaking of one more game …
Toronto survives
The Maple Leafs just barely eked out a 2-1 win over the Bruins to force a decisive Game 7.
I know how stressful this must be for both Bruins fans and Leafs fans. But, I’m sorry, this is incredibly entertaining for the rest of us. The stakes are so high with this one!
Both of these teams are fighting demons right now.
The Bruins are coming off an embarrassing playoff loss last year where the team blew a 3-1 lead to the Panthers last year.
Meanwhile, Toronto is playing a Game 7 in Boston for the fourth time in 11 years. They’ve lost the previous three.
Something has to give here, obviously. I’m sure the Bruins would love nothing more than to advance here and see the Panthers again to avenge last year’s embarrassment. But the pressure will be on.

The Milwaukee Bucks are down bad. Not only did they lose a series to the Indiana Pacers they absolutely should have won, but Patrick Beverley refused to engage with a producer because she wasn’t subscribed to his podcast.
The Bucks are probably feeling a lot right now after a disappointing season. Veteran Patrick Beverley’s frustration about Milwuakee’s situation possibly bubbled over Thursday when he threw a basketball at a fan. Things only got more unhinged postgame in an exchange with ESPN producer Malinda Adams, during which he refused to speak with her or allow her to be in his media scrum.
In a newly released clip, Beverley asks Adams if she is subscribed to his podcast. When she explains that she is not, he refuses to be interviewed by her. He takes it a step further by pushing Adams’ microphone away and eventually asking her to step aside and not be in the interview area. (See the clip below and the 44-second mark of the YouTube video.)

According to CBS’ Jack Maloney, this isn’t a standalone incident. Beverley has also done this with other media members.
this is unfortunatley nothing new beverley has refused to talk to any of us in milwaukee who do not subscribe to his podcast since he arrived at the trade deadline https://t.co/SXbJUpd3iE

Emotions looked to have gotten the best of Minnesota Bucks guard Patrick Beverley during Thursday night’s first-round road Game 6 against the Indiana Pacers.
With the Bucks down 10 points with about two-and-a-half minutes to go in the game, the game broadcast shows Beverley chuck a basketball at a Pacers fan in the stands, seemingly in frustration.
While we’re not sure exactly what prompted Beverley to engage with a fan in such a forceful way, there is no world where the league doesn’t respond swifty to one of its players seemingly getting aggressive with a spectator.
Additional context will be key to understanding what exactly we’re watching, but the optics aren’t great for Beverley and Milwaukee in the slightest.
Of course, it’s also possible the fan in question might also suffer some sort of consequence if they provoked Beverley in a way that violates spectator conduct policies.
The Bucks’ season ended with a 120-98 loss in Game 6 and a 4-2 series loss overall, so any possible response against Beverley from the league will likely impact the start to next season.
For now, we’ll have to see exactly what caused this and what the league decides to do about it.
Despite trailing by as many as 15 points during a game in which both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton sat out against the Clippers on Monday night, the Bucks mounted a massive comeback.
Beverley and Milwaukee teammate Bobby Portis played an integral role in energizing the crowd:
Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley clarified his comments he made about the Philadelphia 76ers’ willingness to win.
PHILADELPHIA — The Philadelphia 76ers made the decision at the deadline to send Patrick Beverley to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Cam Payne and a second-round pick. Beverley was a fan favorite in Philadelphia and was a positive influence in the locker room.
Beverley made his return to Philadelphia on Sunday as he helped the Bucks knock off the Sixers 119-98. The Sixers fell to 7-16 on the season without Joel Embiid as Philadelphia continues to try and find its way.
Recently on “The Pat Bev Pod”, Beverley appeared to throw some shade at the Sixers saying that the Bucks are only looking to win a title while the Sixers were focused on stats. He clarified his comments after the game on Sunday as he believes management is looking more toward the future.
“For sure, obviously, but I think they’re looking to the future, not now, which is how you gotta look in this league,” Beverley said. “Especially, with the team make up. A bunch of guys, a bunch of free agents coming up next year, so you understand it.”
Beverley also understood why he was moved. He has been in the business for a bit so he knows what’s going on and how teams look at the deadline.
“I don’t think it was a shock,” Beverley said of the trade. “That was probably some of the best basketball I’ve played in my career. At the end of the day, it’s a business, right? You got a 35-year-old on the minimum. You can get a younger guy and a second-round pick for him? I would say that’s a helluva deal so I understand the business part of it, but I wasn’t shocked. Not in this league, definitely wasn’t shocked. I’m just happy they sent me to here instead of to a place like Washington D.C. or something. It’s all perspective.”
The Sixers will look to move on following the tough loss to the Bucks as they pay a visit to the Boston Celtics on Tuesday.
