CONCACAF Nations League 3rd-place match: Panama vs. Mexico odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Panama vs. Mexico odds and lines, with expert CONCACAF Nations League 3rd-place game picks, predictions and best bets.

The CONCACAF Nations League 3rd-place match features Panama and Mexico at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. ET (Paramount+/fuboTV). Below, we preview BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Panama vs. Mexico odds, and make our best soccer bets, picks and predictions.

Panama looks to secure its 1st medal in continental play since 2015 when it hits the pitch in Vegas on Sunday night. La Marea Roja, which translates to ‘The Red Tide’, was washed up last time out against Canada. It had no answers in a 2-0 setback in the semifinal match Thursday night.

Mexico was embarrassed by the USMNT, falling 3-0. El Tri can go 1 of 2 ways in Sunday’s consolation match. It will either come out one fire, or it will lazily go through the motions against Los Canaleros, keeping the underdogs in it all the way.

Panama vs. Mexico picks and predictions

Prediction

Mexico 1, Panama 0

Moneyline (ML)

It’s a little on the expensive side, and over my personal moneyline limit for a singular bet, but MEXICO (-175) is the play. I’d prefer to mix this in with at least 1 or 2 more teams either in soccer, or a cross-sport parlay, to maximize the value.

El Tri is a proud group, and I believe it comes back strong after the 3-0 emasculation against Team USA last week. Panama didn’t look very good against Canada, and it won’t look very good here, although this won’t be a blowout, either.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 2.5 (-130) is the best play on the board.

Neither of these sides will be terribly emotional heading into the 3rd-place match. The clubs only had 2 full days to rest, and Las Vegas isn’t exactly the best play for rest and relaxation with so many distractions.

I expect a slow, slow pace to the 1st half, and 1ST HALF – NO GOALS (+180) is a strong play for a chance to nearly triple up.

In addition, I like PANAMA UNDER 0.5 GOALS – REGULAR TIME (+105) at plus-money, while TIE/MEXICO (+320) – HALFTIME/FULLTIME prop is also a very strong play for an opportunity to triple up your initial wager.

It might be a consolation game, but have fun in the undercard match to USA/Canada later Sunday evening.
