Who is inactive for Texans in Week 7 matchup vs. Packers?

Six players are out for the Houston Texans on Sunday at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers.

The Houston Texans are down five defensive starters for Sunday’s contest at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers.

Linebackers Azeez Al-Shaair and Henry To’oTo’o, plus cornerback Kamari Lassiter and safety Jimmie Ward were all officially out for Sunday’s matchup against the Packers, according to the team’s Friday injury report. The four appeared on the inactive list, along with return man Steven Sims and veteran receiver Robert Woods.

Al-Shaair suffered a knee injury in the first half of Week 6’s win over the New England Patriots. Neville Hewitt, best known for his special teams ability, will start as the team’s MIKE backer opposite either Jake Hansen or fifth-round pick Jamal Hill.

To’oTo’o exited the game late in the fourth quarter after making a tackle on a punt return. He entered the league’s concussion protocol and didn’t practice throughout the week. Hansen filled in for the final eight minutes of Sunday’s matchup.

“Neville and Jake have been here with us for a while,” Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said. “They have gotten a lot of reps. They know how we play, they know what to expect, they know how to communicate. It is nothing new to them. If they have to go out and give snaps, I feel confident in those guys being able to step up and help us.”

Sims was a late addition to the injury report after suffering a back injury. In his place, Houston elevated Desmond King from the practice squad to likely serve as the punt returner and add depth to Houston’s secondary.

Receivers Tank Dell and Xavier Hutchinson could also be used heavily in special teams as returners.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon CT.

Here why the Packers will wear all-white uniforms vs. Texans in Week 7

The Texans won’t be in white this week since Green Bay called dibs first.

Cold temperatures aren’t the only thing that could be store for the Houston Texans when they travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers this Sunday.

The team known for its harsh weather conditions plans to be decked out while looking “ice cold.”

Unlike most homes, the Packers will use their all-white road uniforms to help debut their new white alternate helmets. The helmet includes a solid white face mask and the traditional dark green Packers G logo on the sides.

The game is being called the “Winter Warning,” and Green Bay is going all out to help with the on-field effect. They’ve asked fans to dress up in all white to create a snow atmosphere and concern for the Texans.

Will it be cold when Houston hits the field? For now, no. Weather is expected to be around 70 degrees at kickoff and won’t drop into the lower 60s until the fourth quarter.

Kickoff is scheduled for noon CT.

Twitter reacts to Danny Davis’ touchdown grab in Packers preseason opener

The former Badger is making plays in Green Bay

It was an exceptional day for former Badgers in the NFL, most notably rookie wide receivers making their preseason debuts.

Both Danny Davis and Kendric Pryor found pay dirt for their respective squads as the pair fight to make the final roster. Despite the Green Bay Packers falling to the San Francisco 49ers in their preseason opener, Davis finished with a pair of catches for 45 receiving yards and a touchdown.

With both Badgers finding the end zone, reactions from the Wisconsin community poured in on social media. Pryor even took to Twitter to congratulate his Badger brother on a successful debut. Here is a look at the best reactions to Davis scoring for the Packers:

Devonte Wyatt becomes first NFL draft first-rounder to sign rookie contract

The Green Bay Packers have signed Georgia’s Devonte Wyatt to a four-year, fully guaranteed contract.

The Green Bay Packers picked Georgia defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt with the No. 28 selection in the 2022 NFL draft. Wyatt is Green Bay’s third straight first round pick from the Georgia football program.

Devonte Wyatt and teammate Quay Walker, who was the Packers’ selection at No. 22, will look to replicate some of their collegiate success in the NFL.

Now, Wyatt has signed a four-year, fully guaranteed $12.86 million contract. Wyatt will receive a $6.53 million signing bonus. His deal is typical for the scaled rookie contracts.

Wyatt is from Decatur, Georgia. Wyatt was a key figure on Georgia’s 2021 national championship run. He provided strong run defense and was one of the better interior pass rushers in the country. He finished with 39 stops, 2.5 sacks, and 27 pressures.

Devonte Wyatt joins Kenny Clark, Dean Lowry, Jarran Reed, and more along Green Bay’s defensive line. The Packers run a 3-4 defensive scheme.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news of Wyatt’s signing:
