Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Indiana Pacers (25-32) take on the Washington Wizards (25-29) Saturday at Capital One Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Pacers vs. Heat odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Washington beat the Charlotte Hornets 118-104 on Wednesday despite losing the turnover battle 17-7. Now the Wizards have a winning record at home (13-12).

Indiana lost to the Phoenix Suns 117-104 on Friday despite the Suns not yet playing newly-acquired F Kevin Durant. The Pacers have dropped 14 of their last 16 games. With the all-star break approaching the Pacers will need the reset.

The Pacers lead the season series against the Wizards 2-1. They dropped their home opener 114-107 in Indiana (failing to cover as 2.5-point underdogs), but they won the next game 127-117 (covering as 4.5-point road underdogs) and most recently won 121-111 (covering as 3.5-point home favorites).

Pacers at Wizards picks and predictions

Prediction

Wizards 125, Pacers 110

Moneyline

The Pacers and Wizards have both been underwhelming this season. Washington has the 5th best defense against the 2-point shot while Indiana struggles inside the arc, ranking 24th in the NBA in 2-point percentage.

The Pacers are good from the 3-point range, making an average of 13.8 per game. Unfortunately for them, the Wizards have the 9th best 3-point defense, allowing 11.6 per game.

The current line is quite chalky so feel free to PASS, though you could consider a Wizards 1st quarter spread since Indiana is one of the worst teams in the opening quarter.

Against the spread

Trends point toward the Wizards. In their past 6 games against teams with a losing record they are 5-1 against the spread (ATS). Washington has also covered in 7 of its last 10 games.

The Pacers covered just once in their last 6 road games when facing a team with a winning home record. And Indiana is just 1-7 against the spread in its last 8 road games.

BET WIZARDS -5.5 (-105).

Over/Under

These teams usually hit the Over when playing against sub-.500 teams and both the Wizards and the Pacers have sub-.500 records. On top of that, the Over is 5-0 in the past 5 meetings between these teams in Washington.

LEAN OVER 234.5 (-108).

Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Indiana Pacers (1-4) visit Capital One Arena to take on the Washington Wizards (3-1) Friday. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Pacers vs. Wizards odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Pacers come into this game off a 124-109 road loss to the Chicago Bulls Wednesday, failing to cover as 7-point underdogs. Indiana started its road trip with a 120-106 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers Monday as 12-point underdogs. Its lone win on the season came against the Detroit Pistons.

Indiana has some young talent, despite the slow start. G Bennedict Mathurin (No. 6 overall in 2022 NBA Draft) and G Tyrese Haliburton (No. 12 overall in 2020 NBA Draft) lead the team in scoring, averaging 20.8 and 22.6 respectively.

The Wizards have had a surprisingly good start to the season and are 2-1-1 against the spread (ATS). Their lone loss came 117-107 against the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday as 3.5-point underdogs.

Washington beat the Pacers 114-107 in its season opener with G Bradley Beal scoring a team-high 23 points. However, F Kyle Kuzma leads the team in scoring with 21 points per game.

Pacers at Wizards picks and predictions

Prediction

Wizards 114, Pacers 111

Moneyline

PASS.

I think Indiana will hang around, but I would hesitate to bet it outright as Washington has been surging to start the season.

Against the spread

LEAN PACERS +5.5 (-112).

Indiana will have C Myles Turner back which it didn’t in the first battle between these two sides. Turner played 24 minutes and recorded 4 blocks in his season debut against Chicago.

The Pacers will want to increase the pace Friday. They rank 5th in the NBA in pace, and with Turner’s ability to spread the court, its transition and halfcourt game should improve.

The Wizards thrive because of their ability to shoot efficiently which Turner should limit, and the quickness of Haliburton and Mauthrin should aid the Pacers’ ability to slow Washington.

Washington turns the ball over at the 3rd-highest rate in the league. With a quick pace and a good shot blocker, Indiana should be able to keep this game close.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 228.5 (-108).

The Pacers play at a quick pace and have the 4th-worst net rating in the NBA. Turner’s presence should slow the pace and help their defensive rating as he’s arguably the best rim protector in the league.

Indiana is 2-3 O/U and Washington is 1-3 O/U. The first battle went Under despite a combined 45 free throw attempts and 26 offensive rebounds. I would expect a similar battle in this game.

Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Washington Wizards (28-34) host the Indiana Pacers (22-43) Sunday at the Capital One Arena with tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Pacers vs. Wizards odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Indiana has alternated between winning and losing over the past seven games — 3-4 straight up (SU) and 4-3 against the spread (ATS) — with the latest being a 111-106 loss to the Pistons Friday in Detroit as 2.5-point favorites.

Washington has lost three of its last four games since the All-Star break (2-2 ATS) and was defeated 117-114 at home by the Atlanta Hawks Friday, but covered as 5.5-point underdogs.

Recently acquired Wizards PF Kristaps Porzingis is expected to make his team debut after being sidelined with a knee injury since the end of January.

The Pacers are 2-1 SU versus the Wizards, including two straight victories but these teams are tied 1-1-1 ATS in their season series.

Pacers at Wizards odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Wizards 113, Pacers 108

Money line

Slight “LEAN” towards the WIZARDS (-155) because this is at the fringe of my price range for Washington in this spot.

Furthermore, the Wizards are MUCH better in tight games, which this game is projected to be. For instance, Washington is 21-13 in the “clutch” with a plus-11.0 net rating (ranked sixth) while Indiana is 10-27 SU with a minus-20.2 net rating (ranked 29th).

Unless the Wizards’ ML drops to -145 or lower, Washington laying the points is my preferred play.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the WIZARDS -2.5 (-120) because I could see the argument for just betting Washington’s ML.

The bottom line with the Pacers +2.5 (-105) this season is they just haven’t been in sync in coach Rick Carlisle’s first year back in Indiana.

Also, the Pacers are 3-6 ATS as 1-to-2.5-point underdogs and 5-9-1 ATS on the road versus teams with a losing record.

Granted, Washington’s ATS trends aren’t pretty here. But the Wizards are 11th in the East, 2.5 games behind the Atlanta Hawks for the final playoff play-in seed so Washington needs this game like blood.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the UNDER 225.5 (-108) because there’s reverse line movement headed south of the total despite heavy action on the Over and a bunch of Over-friendly trends.

According to VegasInsider.com, this total opened at 227.5 and has been lowered even though roughly two-thirds of the bets placed are on the Over. It’s a red flag whenever sportsbooks make the more popular side cheaper.

Plus there’s some basketball-based logic behind the Under in Pacers-Wizards. Both teams play at a below-average pace and below-average effective field goal shooting. Also, each team has a bottom-10 defensive turnover rate so I’m not expecting a lot of points off of turnovers.

The UNDER 225.5 (-108) is my favorite wager in this game, but I hesitate to wager a full unit because neither team is consistent.

Play-in tournament: Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Thursday’s Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds and lines, with NBA picks, tips and predictions.

The Indiana Pacers (35-38) and Washington Wizards (34-39) face each other in a Eastern Conference play-in game Thursday at Capital One Arena in Washington. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Pacers vs. Wizards odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Pacers routed the visiting Charlotte Hornets by a 144-117 score as 1.5-point favorites Tuesday as the Over connected. Indiana went 0-3 SU/1-2 ATS, failing to cover in two trips to D.C.

The Wizards are looking to push past the Pacers and move along to secure the eighth seed and a date with the No. 1 Philadelphia 76ers. If they are able to beat Indiana again, it will likely be a high-scoring game, as the Over hit in each of the three regular-season meetings.

Pacers at Wizards: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wizards 126, Pacers 121

Money line (ML)

The WIZARDS (-155) are moderate favorites and worth a look on the money line if you just want to make a stress-free pick and not worry about covering the spread. Washington was one of the hottest teams in the NBA down the stretch winning 17 of its final 23 games.

Washington wasn’t very hot in their play-in loss to the Boston Celtics, however, falling 118-100 Tuesday. They will look to bounce back against a team they have dominated this season.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The WIZARDS -3.5 (-105) are worth a look to win by at least two buckets, as they covered each of the two regular-season meetings in Capital One Arena against the Pacers +3.5 (-115) this season.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 236.5 (-110) is the play despite the super high line. Neither of these teams pay much attention on the defensive end, and they can fill it up on offense with the best of them.

Indiana is averaging 115.3 PPG to rank 6th on offense, and they have allowed 115.3 PPG to rank 25th on defense. Washington posted 116.6 PPG to rank 3rd in offense, and they were dead-last in defense with 118.5 PPG allowed. Look for plenty of points.

Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Indiana Pacers (30-33) are in the nation’s capital Monday for a 7 p.m. ET tip-off with the Washington Wizards (29-35) at Capital One Arena. Below, we analyze the Pacers-Wizards odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Indiana bounced back from back-to-back losses to crush the tanking Oklahoma City Thunder 152-95 Saturday. The Pacers are 4-3 straight up and 3-4 against the spread over the past two weeks.

Washington lost a 125-124 heartbreaker at the Dallas Mavericks Saturday following two straight wins. They covered the spread as 3.5-point underdogs against the Mavs for a third consecutive ATS win. The Wizards won and covered eight of their last 10 games.

The Wizards took down the Pacers 132-124 in their first meeting of the season (March 29). Prior to that game, Indiana won and covered five of its previous six games with Washington.

The 9-seed Pacers are 1.5 games in front of the Wizards and both are chasing the eighth-place Charlotte Hornets because the 7- and 8-seeds get two games to clinch a playoff berth via the postseason play-in tournament.

Pacers at Wizards: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:30 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Pacers +125 (bet $100 to win $125) | Wizards -150 (bet $150 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Pacers +3 (-110) | Wizards -3 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 245.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Pacers

  • SG Jeremy Lamb (knee) questionable

Wizards

Pacers at Wizards: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Wizards 126, Pacers 116

Money line (ML)

PASS because I “like” Washington to cover but the Wizards (-150) are just too pricey for an outright victory.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

BET the WIZARDS -3 (-110) for 1 unit because they are one of the hotter teams in the Association and the Pacers have several contributors either out of the lineup or compromised by injury.

Furthermore, Washington scores the sixth-most points in the paint per game while Indiana gives up the second-most paint points per game and has a banged-up frontcourt.

Also, Wizards PG Russell Westbrook‘s uptick in production and performance has helped propel the Wizards on their current playoff push and he lights up Brogdon in their head-to-head history.

Westbrook and Brogdon have played each other six times and Westbrook averaged 24.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 10.5 assists per game in those meetings while Brogdon put up 11.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the UNDER 245.5 (-105) for a half unit because both teams play an uptempo style but neither is very efficient in the fast-break.

Washington plays at the fastest pace and Indiana is fifth in pace; however, the Wizards are just 24th in fast-break points per game. While the Pacers average the second-most fast-break points per game, Washington’s defense is fourth in fast-break points allowed per game.

Finally, with bookmakers projecting a high-scoring game, scoring could peter out in garbage time if one of the teams goes on a scoring drought for a quarter or the other team gets out to a huge lead.

Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s Indiana Pacers at Washington Wizards NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Indiana Pacers (21-23) visit the Washington Wizards (16-28) Monday for a 7 p.m. ET game at Capital One Arena. Below, we analyze the Pacers-Wizards odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Indiana has won four of its past five games while going 3-2 against the spread, including two straight wins against the Detroit Pistons Wednesday and a Luka Doncic-less Dallas Mavericks Friday.

Washington snapped a three-game losing skid its last time out by beating up on the lowly Pistons 106-92, moving to 2-8 straight up and 4-6 ATS in its last 10 games. The Wizards slid to the 13-seed in the Eastern Conference as a result of their recent performance.

This is the first Pacers-Wizards game of the 2020-21 season but Indiana has won three in a row and five of its last six games against Washington (5-1 ATS).

Pacers at Wizards: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Pacers 118, Wizards 110

Money line (ML)

PASS because Indiana is the right side but the -200 tag is too steep of a price to pay for an outright victory.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Washington and its two leading scorers— Beal and PG Russell Westbrook—like to operate in the mid-range and, according to CleaningTheGlass.com, the Wizards attempt the third-highest volume of mid-range shots; however, Indiana is 12th in defensive mid-range shooting percentage.

Also, the Pacers attempt the second-highest rate of shots at the rim and the Wizards’ defense is 20th in defensive field goal percentage for shots at the rim.

Pacers SG Caris LeVert scored only 6 points in his first game this season against the Wizards (while with the Brooklyn Nets) but that was while he was coming off the bench with his former team. He scored 34 points in both of his starts against the Wizards last season.

Finally, Indiana has picked apart bad teams this season; the Pacers are 10-2 overall and seventh in net points per 100 possessions with a plus-4.7 ATS margin vs. teams in the bottom-10 of net efficiency, according to CleaningTheGlass.com.

BET PACERS -5 (-110) for 1 unit.

Over/Under (O/U)

Slight LEAN toward UNDER 234.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit even though most of the situational trends for both teams point to the Over.

At the moment, Beal’s game status is in question and if the current leading scorer in the NBA cannot play it’ll definitely improve the chances of the Under cashing.

Also, three of Washington’s last four games have gone Under the total by an average of 21.8 points including a 113-106 loss to the Nets which went Under by 29.5 points.
