The Celtics have lost 2 games in the postseason, and each of them were Game 2 at home. Keep that in mind for Thursday. They get it done in Game 1, but they are priced way out of range. Instead, I look for MYLES TURNER OVER 1.5 3-POINTERS (-140) to cash. Turner had 2+ 3’s in 5 of 7 games last series.

Against the spread

I like the Pacers to cover here, and I fully expect Porzingis’ absence to be felt. F Pascal Siakam‘s endurance will be tested as the Pacers need his scoring, but he’ll also be matched up on Tatum. The longer this series goes, the more dangerous Indiana becomes because they score at an elite level.

Over/Under

You’ll need to wait this one out to find out whether Haliburton and Mathurin are able to suit up. Haliburton stepped on a teammate’s foot and sprained his ankle in the game Monday but played through it. He missed practice Tuesday and was deemed “questionable at best.”

If health weren’t in question, I could see this as a trap game and would consider the lofty Pacers ML. The Pacers won in Boston last year as 9.5-point dogs, and Haliburton dropped 33. For now, PASS, but if he’s clear to play, you might consider that lucrative +450.

Against the spread

I’m on the Pacers’ side here, but again, that hinges on Haliburton’s ability to suit up. Ankle sprains can be played through initially, but swelling takes place overnight, and that could hinder him from going 48 hours later. If he’s ruled out, I expect the spread to lengthen, but I’ll take the PACERS +11.5 (-110) to stay in it. They’ve covered this line in 3 of 4 against Boston.

Over/Under

Two of the last 3 meetings went Under, and the one that went over required overtime. Boston is more lethal offensively this year, and each team is 2-1 O/U on the season. With Indiana banged up, and recent meetings being tightly contested, I’ll take the UNDER 232.5 (-115).

PASS even though I expect Boston to win handily because the Celtics (-270) is too rich for my blood despite that Indiana has been terrible on the road this season.

The Pacers are 3-15 SU and 7-11 ATS in away games with the 22nd-ranked adjusted net rating at minus-4.2 points per 100 possessions and the third-worst spread differential at a minus-2.5 ATS margin (CTG).

Against the spread

BET the CELTICS -6.5 (-107) for 1 unit because of Indiana’s aforementioned road game woes, Boston matches up well with the Pacers stylistically and the Celtics have taken early steam by the betting market.

Boston runs isolation offense at the fourth-highest rate and has the seventh-best offensive efficiency in isolation while Indiana has the sixth-worst defensive efficiency versus iso-ball.

Furthermore, Boston’s two All-Star wings Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown like to operate out of isolation sets and in the mid-range, which is a soft spot for Indiana’s defense. Simply put, Indiana doesn’t have anyone on the wing that can check Tatum or Brown.
