Four-star offensive tackle Owen Strebig traveled all the way from Wisconsin to Gainesville for UF’s Grill in the Ville cookout, and he left town with an offer.

Offensive tackle [autotag]Owen Strebig[/autotag] traveled all the way from Waukesha, Wisconsin, to be at Florida’s Grill in the Ville cookout on Saturday. The trek was worth it, though, as Strebig left town with an offer in hand, according to Gators Online.

Strebig is a top-100 recruit from the class of 2025 and possesses the kind of frame that Florida looks for in a prospective offensive tackle. He’s 6-foot-7 inches tall and 295 pounds entering his junior year.

Although distance will present some challenges, Strebig said that he’s in Florida several times a year. In fact, this was his second trip to the Swamp already. He was in town back in March during spring practice.

The plan is to visit for a game this fall, but he’ll also be by Notre Dame and USC.

Strebig is a consensus four-star recruit, ranked highest by On3 at No. 40 overall in the class of 2025. The On3 industry ranking, which uses a weighted average from all four major recruiting services, places him at No. 73 nationally and No. 9 among offensive tackles. He’s also the top-ranked player out of Wisconsin.

“Coach Sale mentioned he was going to work me hard but love me harder as a player. That’s something that is important to me. Also, Coach Napier is a down-to-earth, personable coach. Coach Stapleton is a great coach with a lot of football knowledge.”

“I will be back at the Swamp July 29th!” the 6-foot-8-inch, 295-pound lineman told Bender.

That date represents the biggest event of the summer for Florida football when it assembles its committed and highly-sought recruits in the Swamp for the annual Friday Night Lights affair.

Strebig has made one trip to campus prior, which introduced him to Napier as well as offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton. While the visit was a bit overwhelming, he came away very impressed with what the Orange and Blue have to offer.

“I really liked the coaches; everyone was very welcoming. I really liked the new facility. The campus looked like a great place to be for a student-athlete.

“Coach Sale mentioned he was going to work me hard but love me harder as a player. That’s something that is important me. Also, coach Napier is a down-to-earth, personable coach. Coach Stapleton is a great coach with a lot of football knowledge.”

The rising high school junior also holds offers from the Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Florida State Seminoles, Wisconsin Badgers, Iowa Hawkeyes, Illinois Illini, Penn State Nittany Lions, Stanford Cardinals, Kentucky Wildcats and Minnesota Golden Gophers, among others.

Strebig is ranked No. 130 overall and No. 13 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 102 and 10, respectively. He currently has a 247Sports crystal ball prediction for Wisconsin while On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine agrees, giving the Badgers a 28.1% chance of signing him, followed by Iowa (16.7%), Notre Dame (7.5%) and Illinois (6.2%).

Badgers offer 6-foot-7 offensive lineman from Wisconsin

Wisconsin offered Owen Strebig, a class of 2025 offensive lineman from Waukesha, Wisconsin on Monday.

Wisconsin offered Owen Strebig, a class of 2025 offensive lineman from Waukesha, Wisconsin on Monday. The 6-foot-7, 285 pound athlete still has two more seasons of football at Catholic Memorial before he’d make the leap to the collegiate level.

As of right now, the offensive lineman has now received seven Division 1 offers, all of which are from within the Big Ten. Considering he’s from Wisconsin, Strebig will certainly take a strong look at the Badgers’ offer.

Wisconsin has yet to receive any commitments for the class of 2025, but that’s not a big surprise at all considering how far away we are from that season.
