Magic at Kings picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 124, Magic 119

Moneyline

Go ahead and PASS on the moneyline in this game at the current odds for both teams. Despite expecting the Kings (-240) to win at home, I wouldn’t advise taking them straight up due to the minimal return you’ll receive in a victory.

Against the spread

MAGIC +6.5 (-118) is the ideal way to bet the spread in this game. Even though I expect the Kings to secure the win, it’s hard to expect them to win by at least 7 points with how they’ve been playing recently.

The Magic are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games against a team with a winning home record and 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games on 1 day of rest. The Kings are 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

Over/Under

Even with the Magic being 1 of the worst teams in terms of offensive rating, this is a massive pace-up game for them, so OVER 238.5 (-105) seems like the correct choice here. We’ve seen some high-scoring affairs between Orlando and Sacramento recently.

The Magic have gone Over in each of their last 5 games following an ATS win. Meanwhile, the Kings have gone Over in 7 straight games against teams with a losing record and the Over is 7-0 in the last 7 meetings between these 2 teams.

Orlando Magic at Sacramento Kings odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Orlando Magic at Sacramento Kings odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Orlando Magic (5-20) travel to the Golden 1 Center Wednesday to take on the Sacramento Kings (10-14). Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Magic at Kings odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Magic are coming into this game following a 126-95 blowout loss at the Golden State Warriors Monday. They did hang with the Warriors for the first quarter and were even ahead for a good bit.

Typically heavy underdogs, the Magic are actually 3-3 against the spread over their last 6.

At 11-14, they’re one of the worst covering teams in the NBA. The Kings aren’t much better, just 11-13 against the spread. At home, they’ll be heavy favorites.

Led by star G De’Aaron Fox, the Kings have disappointed bettors, covering just 4 of their last 10. Their dynamic offense is respectable though and has the league’s 16th-best offensive rating.

Magic at Kings odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Kings 118, Magic 106

Money line

PASS. The Kings are at home and just not playable at -300.

Especially with Barnes potentially sitting, I wouldn’t put money that their shooters go cold, although I clearly don’t envision that happening. I’d still look toward the points for better value.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the KINGS -6.5 (-122) as their offense will be just too much for the Magic’s atrocious defense.

The Magic have the league’s fourth-worst defensive rating. The Kings are right in front of them at No. 5. However, the Kings’ offense is far better and much more consistent.

The Kings rank 3rd in free-throw makes per game while the Magic sit at 16th on opponents’ free-throw rate. The Magic foul often, and the Kings will capitalize. The Magic have the league’s fifth-worst net rating on the road as well.

To top it all off, the Kings have a few defensive-minded guards in Tyrese Haliburton and Davion Mitchell. They’ll get to take on an inefficient point guard in Cole Anthony and a rookie in SF Franz Wagner. I’ll take the strong-willed defenders.

Given how the Kings score and how much the Magic foul, combined with already poor defense, I’d back the home side that has the most experienced players.

Over/Under

BET OVER 219.5 (-115) as both these teams just cannot defend at a high level.

The Magic rank in the top half of the league in offensive-rebounding rate while the Kings rank second to last in defensive rebounding, so there should be plenty of second-chance opportunities in this one.

Given that both teams rank in the bottom five in defensive rating, yet have solid offensive players, there should be tons of points in this one. Both teams also rank in the top half of the league in pace.

Magic at Kings: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Kings 115, Magic 103

Money line (ML)

Unfortunately for the Magic, this feels like a very unevenly matched game. Sacramento is at home, rested, healthy and has won seven of its last nine games, while Orlando is playing for the second night in a row and has a banged-up roster. They have lost three in a row and seven of eight games. They have lost their last four road games. They are 0-2 when they have a rest disadvantage. Take the KINGS (-300).

Against the spread (ATS)

Sacramento lost their last game Tuesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers and did not cover the spread in that game, but the Kings had covered the spread in the eight games before that. The Magic have only covered the spread in two of their last eight games. While they covered the spread in their Thursday night loss against the Golden State Warriors, it was after the late movement on the line that pushed the spread to 8.5 points. They lost by six. The Magic are 7-3 ATS on the road, but the Kings are 4-2 ATS with a rest advantage, which they have over the Magic tonight. They haven’t played since Tuesday while the Magic played last night. With all of the Magic’s injuries, take the KINGS -7.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

Sacramento is 14-10 O/U this season, but their last three games and five of six have gone Under. The Magic’s last three contests have gone Under as well, and they are averaging 98 points over the last three games. Sacramento is averaging 115.4 points in its last five games, with the lowest total 111 on Tuesday. Take UNDER 223.5 POINTS (-110).
