Jazz at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Jazz 111, Magic 98

Money line (ML)

There isn’t any value, but this is an easy pick. The Jazz are the best team in basketball. They have the best record. They are one of the hottest teams, having won eight of 10. They are healthy and the Magic are not good.

Utah is 24-6 in games in which it is favored. Take the JAZZ (-600).

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

This is a big spread but no one has been better at covering the spread than the Jazz. They are 24-9 ATS this season. Orlando is 15-18 ATS. The Jazz’s average point differential is plus-9.5, so winning by double digits against a struggling team missing several important players shouldn’t be hard.

Take the JAZZ -10.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

Both teams have their games go Under more often than not. Five of six have gone Under for the Magic. With how well Utah plays defensively, Orlando will struggle. Take UNDER 221.5 (-110).

Magic at Nets: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nets 125, Magic 119

Money line (ML)

The Nets are on fire lately, having won seven in a row, including wins over the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers, all without Durant. The Magic are coming off a loss to the lowly Detroit Pistons but have won three of four. However, Orlando is 5-10 on the road this season and have dropped five of their last six on the road. Take the NETS -350.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

When it comes to betting the spread, the Nets and Magic both have been even overall. Brooklyn is 17-16 ATS overall, and Orlando is 15-17 ATS. However, the Nets have covered the spread in all seven games during their winning streak. Orlando is 2-2 ATS when they are 8.5-point underdogs or more. Brooklyn has not covered the spread in either game this season in which they were favored by at least 8.5 points, although they were not playing as well as they have been lately. When the Magic and Nets faced one another earlier this season, Brooklyn won but did not cover. Take the MAGIC +8.5 (-115).

Over/Under (O/U)

This is almost a gimme. Brooklyn has the second-highest Over percentage in the league at 69.7%. Their games have gone over in four of their last six, staying relatively consistent with their overall percentage. They score a ton of points and also give up a lot of points. Take OVER 227.5 POINTS (-110).

Pistons at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Magic 106, Pistons 99

Money line (ML)

The MAGIC (-160) are a good play at a moderate price if you don’t want to bother with the spread. Orlando is on a three-game winning streak, and they have won four of the past five games overall, including last time out Sunday against the Pistons in O-Town, 105-96.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The MAGIC -3.5 (-110) should be able to put away the Pistons +3.5 (-110) by at least two buckets. They won by nine points in Sunday’s contest, and they have also covered each of the past three and five of the previous six. Meanwhile, Detroit has failed to cover each of the past three outings after a 4-1 ATS run.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 207.5 (-110) is the way to be in this second end of the back-to-back. The Under connected in Sunday’s game with a total of just 201 points, and the Under is 3-0 in Detroit’s past three and five of the past six. The Under is also 3-1 in Orlando’s past four, and 6-2 across the past eight for the Magic.

Warriors at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Warriors 111, Magic 101

Money line (ML)

The WARRIORS (-185) are slight moneyline favorites in this matchup. Golden State is coming off an impressive come-from-behind win against the Heat Wednesday night. They’ve won four of their last five games and are playing better basketball. Meanwhile, the Magic have lost seven of their last 10 wins with their only victories coming against the Knicks, Kings and Bulls during that stretch. Look for the Warriors to win and win easily in this contest.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Golden State (-4.5) has actually struggled against the spread on the road this season, going just 5-7 in 12 games. However, they’ve won 10 of 12 games when favored this season and should be able to win this game by double digits. Expect this game to be close for a while, but for the Warriors to eventually pull ahead late and cover. It’s worth noting that the Magic at just 6-8 against the spread while playing at home this season, as well. The Warriors (-4.5, -105) are the play.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER 224.5 (-110) appears to be the correct play in this game as the Magic have one of the worst offenses in the NBA. They are averaging just under 105 points per game, third-worst in the league. The Warriors have a top-10 offense, but without C James Wiseman and potentially PF Draymond Green, they could struggle to be consistent on the end of the floor, as well. Take the under here as both teams could struggle to get to 110 points.

New York Knicks at Orlando Magic odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Wednesday’s New York Knicks at Orlando Magic NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The New York Knicks (14-15) will look to extend their three-game winning streak on Wednesday night when they take on the Orlando Magic (10-18). The game will be played at the Amway Center, with tip-off at 7 p.m. ET Below, we analyze the Knicks-Magic NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Knicks at Magic: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Wednesday at 10:50 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Knicks -190 (bet $190 to win $100) | Magic +155 (bet $100 to win $155)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Knicks -4.5 (-110) | Magic +4.5 (-110)

Knicks at Magic: Key injuries

Knicks

  • Mitchell Robinson (hand) out

Magic

Knicks at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Knicks 107, Magic 98

Money line (ML)

The Knicks have played surprisingly well as of late, winning their last three games. All three of those victories were by double-digits, too, covering the spread each time. The Magic, on the other hand, are only 2-8 in their last 10 games.

I like the KNICKS (-190) to win this one straight-up on the road, continuing their hot streak. They beat the Magic in January, 91-84, and while the score won’t be that low, the end result will be the same.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Knicks are a stellar 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games, which is far better than the Magic’s recent record (3-7). The Knicks made easy work of Washington, Atlanta, and Houston last week and they’ll continue that run against the Magic tonight.

I like the KNICKS -4.5 (-110) to cover on the road, which isn’t a terribly large number. They’re 6-1 ATS in their last seven games.

Over/Under (O/U)

These are two of the worst offenses in the NBA, ranking near the bottom of the league in points per game. While the Knicks have been scoring at a higher clip recently, the Magic have only topped 100 points twice in their last five games.

The total has gone Under in each of the Knicks’ last five road games. Take the UNDER 209.5 (-110) tonight as this shouldn’t be a high-scoring affair.

Orlando Magic at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

Magic at Suns: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Suns 115, Magic 105

Money line (ML)

The Suns are one of the hottest teams in the league, having won five games in a row at home and eight of their last 10. They are coming off consecutive wins over two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference and they are healthy.

However, even though the Magic won their last game, they have lost three of four and seven of nine. With the Suns lined up to play another big-time Eastern Conference team on Tuesday, this is a perfect trap game. The Suns should win but at -500, it is a PASS for me on Sunday.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Phoenix continues to have the second-best cover percentage in the league at 64%. They have covered the spread in every single one of their wins this season. They are 10-7 ATS (and straight-up) when favored. This is the game to be careful with Phoenix. They have two big wins in a row, are facing a struggling team before taking on another big team in the Brooklyn Nets. The Suns could have a trap game.

However, with a fully healthy roster, they should take care of business. G Devin Booker has scored over 30 points in three straight games and is playing out of his mind right now. Take the SUNS -10.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The Suns have had their last three games go Over, improving their Over percentage to 44%. Orlando is 13-13-1 O/U. Phoenix’s offense is humming right now, having scored 119 or more in three straight games. The Magic are no juggernaut on defense so take OVER 213.5 POINTS (-115).

Magic at Kings: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Kings 115, Magic 103

Money line (ML)

Unfortunately for the Magic, this feels like a very unevenly matched game. Sacramento is at home, rested, healthy and has won seven of its last nine games, while Orlando is playing for the second night in a row and has a banged-up roster. They have lost three in a row and seven of eight games. They have lost their last four road games. They are 0-2 when they have a rest disadvantage. Take the KINGS (-300).

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Sacramento lost their last game Tuesday night against the Philadelphia 76ers and did not cover the spread in that game, but the Kings had covered the spread in the eight games before that. The Magic have only covered the spread in two of their last eight games. While they covered the spread in their Thursday night loss against the Golden State Warriors, it was after the late movement on the line that pushed the spread to 8.5 points. They lost by six. The Magic are 7-3 ATS on the road, but the Kings are 4-2 ATS with a rest advantage, which they have over the Magic tonight. They haven’t played since Tuesday while the Magic played last night. With all of the Magic’s injuries, take the KINGS -7.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

Sacramento is 14-10 O/U this season, but their last three games and five of six have gone Under. The Magic’s last three contests have gone Under as well, and they are averaging 98 points over the last three games. Sacramento is averaging 115.4 points in its last five games, with the lowest total 111 on Tuesday. Take UNDER 223.5 POINTS (-110).

Magic at Warriors: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Warriors 114, Magic 105

Money line (ML)

The Magic have lost two in a row, six of seven and eight of 10. They have lost eight of their last nine on the road.

The Warriors have not had any streaks of note at all. They have not won or lost more than two games in a row all season. Their game tonight is their first at home after a four-game road trip and they should beat Orlando. Take the WARRIORS (225).

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

Orlando’s cover percentage is higher than only three other teams at 40%. The Magic failed to cover the spread in six of their last seven games.

The Warriors are 13-12 ATS this season and have covered in three of their last four games. They are 6-3 ATS as favorites and have covered in each of their last three games when favored by at least four points.

Take the WARRIORS -5.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

The Warriors’ last two games have gone Under as well as five of their last seven contests. They are 11-14 O/U this season and 4-5 O/U as favorites.

The Magic score the third-fewest points in the league at 104.7 points per game and give up 112.0 PPG.

Magic at Trail Blazers: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Blazers 121, Magic 110

Money line (ML)

The Magic have lost five of their last six and seven of their last nine games. They have lost six of their last seven on the road. Portland is back home for the first time after a six-game road trip. The Trail Blazers are 5-5 at home. Some home cooking will be good for the Blazers. Take the TRAIL BLAZERS (-275).

Against the spread (ATS)

Orlando is on a rough run against the spread lately. They have covered the spread only once in its last six games and, in those five ATS losses, all have been double-digit deficits. Portland has covered the spread in four of its last six games, although it has the second-lowest home cover percentage in the league at 20%.

Take the BLAZERS -6.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

Both Orlando and Portland’s games go Over more often than not (Orlando at a 52.2% Over rate, Portland 54.5%). Four of the last five and seven of the last nine games for Portland have gone Over. Three of the last four and five of the last seven for Orlando have gone Over.

Take OVER 221.5 (-110).

Bulls at Magic: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Magic 118, Bulls 114

Money line (ML)

The MAGIC (-105) are the play as short ‘dogs after topping the Bulls (-115) in the front end of the double dip Friday. Orlando entered Friday’s game on a four-game skid, but they suddenly look attractive after tripping up Chicago in the opener.

Against the spread (ATS)

The MAGIC +1.5 (-115) won as an underdog on Friday, and the Bulls -1.5 (-105) slipped to 2-6 ATS in the past eight as a favorite, including 1-5 ATS in the past six as a favorite on the road. Neither of these teams have been very consistent lately, so you have to go with what you saw lately, and that’s an Orlando win.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 223.5 (-110) is the play for Saturday’s second end of the twin bill. We had a total of 242 points in Friday’s game, and we should see a slight decrease in scoring with both teams experiencing some tired legs after playing less than 24 hours prior. However, this won’t be confused with a defensive slog. The scoring will pick up in the second half, and we’ll still see the Over cash with about two minutes remaining in regulation.
