The Baltimore Orioles (15-8) and Los Angeles Angels (10-14) wrap up a 3-game series at Angel Stadium Wednesday. First pitch is scheduled for 4:07 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Angels odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 3-2

Baltimore snapped a 3-game winning streak with a 7-4 loss against the Angels Tuesday while failing to cash as a -144 road favorite. After giving up 7 runs through 4 innings, the comeback effort fell short for the Orioles. SS Gunnar Henderson led the way on offense with a home run, 2 RBIs, and a run scored, while RHP Grayson Rodriguez allowed 7 earned runs on 11 hits in 4 1/3 innings and picked up the loss.

Los Angeles snapped a 5-game losing streak with Tuesday’s win as a +132 home underdog. CF Mike Trout started the scoring with his 1st leadoff home run since 2012, while 6 different L.A. players had 1 or more RBIs. RHP Griffin Canning allowed 3 earned runs in 5 innings to pick up the win.

Orioles at Angels projected starters

RHP Dean Kremer vs. LHP Tyler Anderson

Kremer (0-2, 4.91 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has a 1.14 WHIP, 2.1 BB/9 and 7.0 K/9 in 22 innings.

  • Orioles are 1-3 in his starts
  • Has allowed 3 or fewer ER in 3 of his 4 starts
  • Has allowed 12 ER and 5 HR this season while striking out 17 and walking 5

Anderson (2-2, 1.42 ERA) makes his 5th start. He has a 0.95 WHIP, 3.2 BB/9 and 5.0 K/9 in 25 1/3 innings.

  • Angels are 2-2 in his starts
  • Has allowed 3 or fewer ER in each start this season and 1 or fewer in 3 of the 4
  • Has allowed 4 ER and 3 HR this season while striking out 14 and walking 9

Orioles at Angels picks and predictions

Prediction

Angels 4, Orioles 1

Moneyline

BET ANGELS (+110).

While the Angels have struggled recently, they started to find their bats Tuesday with 7 runs scored. They scored more than 2 runs just once during their 5-game losing streak.

With Anderson taking the mound for L.A. Wednesday, it should not take a lot of offense to power it past the Orioles for the series win.

Run line/Against the spread

PASS.

The moneyline presents better profit on the Angels.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 9 (+100).

Two of the last 3 matchups between these teams this season have hit the Under with the Orioles scoring 4 or fewer runs in each of the 3 games. Baltimore has scored 4 or fewer runs in 4 of its last 6 games and faces Anderson, who has allowed just 4 ER combined in his 4 starts this season.

While the Angels started to show their offense Tuesday, they have scored 2 or fewer runs in 4 of their last 6 games.

Baltimore Orioles at Los Angeles Angels odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles (15-7) and Los Angeles Angels (9-14) play the middle contest of a 3-game series at Angel Stadium Tuesday. First pitch is scheduled for 9:38 p.m. ET (ESPN+). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Angels odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 3-1; Baltimore won 4-2 in the series opener as a slight underdog (+105) Monday night as the Under (8.5) cashed

The Orioles, who are in 1st place in the AL East, picked up a 3rd straight victory in the series opener. Baltimore has also won 7 of the past 8 games, including 6 of the past 7 on the road. The O’s have cashed the Under in the past 2 outings, but the Over is still 9-3 across the past 12 games.

The Angels continue to struggle offensively, posting just 9 total runs in the past 5 games, or 1.8 runs per game. It’s no surprise the Under has cashed at a 4-1 clip in the previous 5 outings. Angels pitching hasn’t been that bad, limiting foes to 4 or fewer runs in 4 of the past 6 games and 5 or fewer in 8 of the past 12.

Orioles at Angels projected starters

RHP Grayson Rodriguez vs. RHP Griffin Canning

Rodriguez (3-0, 2.63 ERA) makes his 5th start in 2024. He has a 1.17 WHIP, 3.0 BB/9 and 10.1 K/9 in 24 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 6 K in 11-3 win vs. Minnesota Twins last Tuesday
  • Last road start: No-decision, 5 2/3 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 2 BB, 5 K in 9-4 road win in 10 innings vs. Boston Red Sox April 11
  • Career vs. Angels: 2-1, 6.46 ERA, 15 1/3 IP, 11 ER (4 HR), 1.70 WHIP, 6 BB, 19 K in 3 starts

Canning (0-3, 8.05 ERA) makes his 5th start in 2024. He has a 1.58 WHIP, 2.4 BB/9 and 7.6 K/9 in 19 innings.

  • Last start: Loss, 5 1/3 IP, 2 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 4 K in 2-1 road loss vs. Tampa Bay Rays Thursday
  • Last home start: No-decision, 4 2/3 IP, 4 ER, 5 H (3 HR), 3 BB, 4 K in 8-6 loss vs. Boston Red Sox April 5
  • Last start vs. Orioles: Loss, 5 IP, 5 ER, 7 H, 1 BB, 2 K in 13-4 road loss March 30

Orioles at Angels picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 6, Angels 2

Moneyline

The ORIOLES (-160) are a good play if you’re a little more on the conservative side. My preference is to back the run line for a much larger profit, although there is obviously a little more risk. But we’re not trying to double up on the O’s.

Run line/Against the spread

The ORIOLES -1.5 (+100) are a better value at even-money. Rodriguez has been ace-like during the early going, while Canning has been terrible for the Angels +1.5 (-120).

In Baltimore’s 15 victories this season, it has won by 2 or more runs in 14 of those games. So, if you like the O’s to get the job done in Anaheim, you should like them to cover the run line. It’s substantially cheaper than backing the O’s on the moneyline, too.

Over/Under

UNDER 8.5 (+100) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The risk here is Angels pitching, as Canning has been very giving, coughing up 5 HR in his 19 IP across 4 starts while allowing at least 4 ER in 3 of his 4 outings.

However, the Angels offense has struggled, and it should have a tough time scratching across many runs against the Baltimore ace Rodriguez.

Baltimore Orioles at Los Angeles Angels odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles (14-7) and Los Angeles Angels (9-13) begin a 3-game series at Angel Stadium Monday. First pitch is scheduled for 9:38 p.m. ET (MLB Network). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Angels odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 2-1 with favorite 2-1, Over 2-1

The Orioles picked up a road series win by taking 2 of 3 games in Kansas City over the weekend. Baltimore has won 6 of the past 7 outings, while cashing the Over at a 9-2 clip in the previous 11 contests.

Baltimore won 2 of 3 from the Angels back on March 28-31 to open the season, winning the first 2 games by a combined 24-7 margin, before LHP Reid Detmers, Monday’s starter for the Halos, helped the team salvage the series with a 4-1 finale win March 31.

The Angels were swept over the weekend on the road by the Cincinnati Reds, and Los Angeles has dropped 4 straight outings. The offense has struggled, scoring a total of 7 runs in the 4-game slide, with 5 of those runs coming in Saturday’s loss. The Under is 3-1 in the skid, but the Over has a slight 4-3 edge in the past 7 games thanks to shoddy pitching.

Orioles at Angels projected starters

RHP Albert Suarez vs. LHP Reid Detmers

Suarez (0-0, 0.00 ERA) makes his 2nd start in 2024. He has a 0.53 WHIP, 0.0 BB/9 and 6.4 K/9 in 5 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 0 BB, 4 K in 4-2 home win vs. Minnesota Twins Wednesday
  • Last road start: Loss, 4 IP, 3 ER, 5 H, 1 BB, 1 K in a 7-2 road loss vs. San Diego Padres Sept. 23, 2016, as a member of the San Francisco Giants

Detmers (3-0, 1.19 ERA) makes his 5th start in 2024. He has a 0.97 WHIP, 2.8 BB/9 and 11.9 K/9 in 22 2/3 innings.

  • Last start: No-decision, 5 1/3 IP, 2 R (1 ER), 7 H, 1 BB, 4 K in 5-4 road win vs. Tampa Bay Rays Wednesday
  • Last home start: Win, 6 IP, 1 ER, 3 H, 1 BB, 12 K in 2-1 victory vs. Boston Red Sox April 6
  • Last start vs. Orioles: Win, 5 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 7 K in 4-1 road win March 31

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Orioles at Angels picks and predictions

Prediction

Angels 4, Orioles 3

Moneyline

The ANGELS (-115) are a strong play at home against the team’s strongest pitcher through the early part of this season.

Detmers has been surprisingly tough, winning 3 times against AL East opponents this season with a no-decision last time out in St. Petersburg. He is a much better option to back than a guy making just his 2nd appearance since the 2017 season. Suarez is a great comeback story for the Orioles (-105), but if you’re betting money, it’s a little less heartwarming.

Run line/Against the spread

The Angels +1.5 (-190) will cost nearly 2 times your potential return if you’re looking for a little insurance, and you just can’t bring yourself to back the Halos and the southpaw Detmers straight up. If you like Los Angeles, just bet it straight up and save a ton.

AVOID.

Over/Under

UNDER 8.5 (+100) is the play but be careful.

The Baltimore bats punished Los Angeles pitching, especially the bullpen, with 24 runs in the first 2 games.

Detmers pitched the Angels to a win, and the only Under result of the 3-game series back in late March to open the season. Go low and feel confident in doing so.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles (87-51) and Los Angeles Angels (64-75) meet
Wednesday for the finale of a 3-game set. First pitch from Angel Stadium is slated for 9:38 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Angels odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Orioles lead 4-2

Baltimore has won the first 2 games of this series and has won 4 in a row overall. Since Aug. 18, the Orioles are 13-4 with a plus-57 run differential.

The Angels took a 3-2 lead into the 9th inning of Tuesday’s game. The Halos then traded 1 run for 2 in the 9th and would lose 5-4 in the 10th. Los Angeles is 13 games back of the final AL Wild Card spot.

Orioles at Angels projected starters

RHP Kyle Gibson vs. LHP Patrick Sandoval

Gibson (13-8, 5.15 ERA) makes his 29th start. He owns a 1.34 WHIP, 2.6 BB/9 and 7.6 K/9 through 162 2/3 IP.

  • Last start: Loss, 4 1/3 IP, 7 ER, 9 H, 0 BB, 2 K in 10-5 home loss vs. Chicago White Sox Thursday
  • 2023 road stats: 7-4, 4.75 ERA in 94 2/3 IP across 16 starts

Orioles at Angels picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 5, Angels 4

Moneyline

Tuesday’s Orioles-Angels match-up made for a tepid play — partial-unit and all on the home nine. Wednesday’s tilt figures as a mirror opposite — a very slight lean toward the visitors.

Sandoval is not in good form of late. He’s waked nearly 7 batters per 9 over his last 6 starts, and he makes this start on 4 days of rest which is not exactly his preferred interval (.945 OPS allowed in 10 career starts on 4 days of rest).

Gibson’s recent clunkers have been fueled by way-out-of-bounds rates around the margins (.360 BABIP in his last 5 starts, for example).

This figures as a way to get the better club at a slight discount. But again, it’s a slight discount: BACK THE ORIOLES (-140) on a partial-unit play.

Run line/Against the spread

In relative return, the better Baltimore play is the one above. PASS.

Over/Under

As with Tuesday’s affair, the runs scored vs. expected swing both ways with these clubs. There are reasons both dinging and supporting both sides of this total. PASS.

Baltimore Orioles at Los Angeles Angels odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Baltimore Orioles at Los Angeles Angels odds and lines, with MLB expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Baltimore Orioles (85-51) and the Los Angeles Angels (64-73) open a 3-game series Monday at Angel Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 9:38 p.m. ET (FS1). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Orioles vs. Angels odds and make our expert MLB picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: tied 2-2

The first-place Orioles took 2 of 3 games from the Arizona Diamondbacks on the road over the weekend. Baltimore is 11-4 across the past 15 games overall dating back to Aug. 18, including a 5-1 mark on the road.

The Angels tried to make a run at the MLB trade deadline, but they had a brutal August and are now 12 1/2 games out of an AL Wild Card spot. Things hit rock-bottom for Los Angeles with a 3-game sweep at the hands of the already eliminated Oakland Athletics on the road over the weekend.

Orioles at Angels projected starters

RHP Grayson Rodriguez vs. LHP Kenny Rosenberg

Rodriguez (4-3, 5.03 ERA) makes his 19th start. He has a 1.36 WHIP, 3.4 BB/9 and 9.4 K/9 in 93 innings.

  • Last start: Win, 6 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 BB and 6 K in 9-0 home win vs. Chicago White Sox last Monday
  • 2023 road splits: 2-1, 4.29 ERA (42 IP, 20 ER), 7 HR, .216 opponent batting average (OBA) in 8 starts

Rosenberg (0-0, 6.43 ERA) makes his 1st start and 3rd overall appearance. He has a 2.29 WHIP, 9.0 BB/9 and 9.0 K/9 in 7 innings.

  • Only career start: No-decision, 4 2/3 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 1 K in a 4-0 road win vs. the Seattle Mariners on June 19, 2022
  • 2023 home splits: 2 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 2 BB, 3 K in 1 relief appearance

  • Run line (RL)/Against the spread (ATS): Orioles -1.5 (-115) | Angels +1.5 (-105)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 9 (O: -110 | U: -110)

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3012″ ]

Orioles at Angels picks and predictions

Prediction

Orioles 6, Angels 2

Moneyline

The Orioles (-190) look to kick the Angels while they’re down. I like Rodriguez, as he has picked up the pace and is pitching really well lately. Baltimore should be able to get to Rosenberg, who makes his 1st start of 2023, and just the 2nd of his MLB career. Still, I am not comfortable risking nearly 2 times the potential return.

PASS.

Run line/Against the spread

The ORIOLES -1.5 (-115) are a much better value on the run line.

Baltimore outscored Arizona 15-8 in the desert, winning the final 2 games of the weekend series by 3 or more runs in each outing. And in each of the past 4 wins for the O’s since Aug. 28, Baltimore has won by 3 or more runs. If you like the O’s to win, you should like them on the run line, too.

Over/Under

UNDER 9 (-110) is the lean, but be careful.

The Over is 4-1 in the past 5 games overall for the Orioles. However, there is a slight 3-2-1 lean to the Under in G-Rod’s past 6 outings.

The Angels plated just 9 total runs against the lowly A’s over the weekend, and appear checked out. The pitching staff has been gross, allowing 6 or more runs in 5 of the past 6 games, so that’s a concern for Under bettors, but we should still see the total come in short of the number.
