How Oregon transfers peformed in Week 13 of college football

After 13 weeks, the 2023 college football regular has met its end. The Oregon Ducks will play in the Pac-12 Championship against the Washington Huskies, looking for a spot in the College Football Playoff. For many of the Oregon transfers, the 2023 season ends in Week 13, but many others still have football left to play.

At UCLA, there are several former Ducks that will get to play in a bowl game this December, Cam McCormick and the Miami Hurricanes are bowl-eligible, and Trey Benson’s Florida State Seminoles are headed to the ACC championship — and possibly the College Football Playoff.

Below is a check-in with the performance of all of the Oregon transfers in the last week of the 2023 season.

There is now only one week left in the 2023 college football season. The Oregon Ducks are still in control of their destiny (for the most part), and will host Oregon State on Friday as they try to advance to the Pac-12 Championship game in Las Vegas.

Things are heating up all across the NCAA. Oregon transfers, Trey Benson and Tyler Shough, had big storylines emerge this weekend. Trey Benson and Florida State won their game on Saturday, but they lost their star QB Jordan Travis after a graphic injury.

Below is a check-in with the rest of the Oregon transfers and a look at how they performed in Week 12.

Check in with all of the Oregon transfers still in the NCAA.

We are through Week 11 of the college football season, and it is time for our weekly check-in with Oregon transfers. Throughout the season, several players, such as Sean Dollars and Anthony Jones, have gone from being fringe players to filling important roles for their teams.

The most notable Oregon transfer all season has been Trey Benson, the Florida State Seminoles’ running back. The Oregon Ducks would love for the Seminoles to lose because it would increase their chances at the College Football Playoffs. Trey Benson has been one of the key reasons Florida State is still undefeated, and his play against Miami this weekend was crucial to the Seminoles’ victory.

It was a busy week across the college football world. Oregon won its game, 63-19, and Washington beat USC in a close battle. Several other games around the country caught Ducks’ fans attention due to their College Football Playoff implications for Oregon. None of these games seemed to go Ducks fans’ way though. Texas beat Kansas State. Alabama took down LSU, and Florida State handled Pitt.

Speaking of Florida State, Oregon fans had another reason to watch that game: Trey Benson. The Ducks’ transfer running back has been having an impressive season, and his performance on Saturday was one of his best games of 2023.

On Saturday, the Oregon Ducks took on the Utah Utes in Rice-Eccles Stadium for a top-15 matchup that turned out to be a lopsided affair. The Ducks came out firing on offense didn’t let up, and they remained unbeatable on defense, holding the Utes to just two field goals.

While Oregon was busy dominating in Salt Lake City and making a statement against a good Utah team, there were several former Ducks who were continuing their stellar careers elsewhere in the nation as well.

As usual, I’ll check in with each player who has transferred away from the Oregon football program in recent years to see if their Saturday was as successful as the Ducks’. It was an eventful week for the Oregon transfers. Cam McCormick saw some action, so did Dont’e Thornton, and there is a Trey Benson catch-and-run you’ll want to check out.

Week 8 was an important one for the Oregon Ducks, especially after losing to Washington in Week 7. On Saturday, Oregon took care of business against Washington State at home, but the game was far from perfect by the Ducks.

Next week, Oregon travels to Salt Lake City to take on Utah. The Utes haven’t lost in Rice-Eccles Stadium in nearly three years, so this will be a tough game for the Ducks to win — despite Utah’s QB situation.

As the Ducks prepare for the Utes, I’ve prepared an update on each Oregon transfer from the past three seasons, which you can check out below.

The Oregon Ducks suffered their first loss of the season to the Washington Huskies this weekend in what was one of the best games of the year, but that wasn’t the only thing of note to happen around college football this week. Oregon State took down UCLA at home, Alabama narrowly survived Arkansas, and on the road, USC got embarrassed by the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Across the country, the were a number of former Ducks showing out for their new teams. Trey Benson, the lead RB for Florida State, has been a standout all season and he continued to impress this week. But, there were also several Ducks that had what were by far their most notable games of the season this past Saturday. You can check in with each of them below.

How former Oregon Duck transfers performed in Week 5 of the season

How former Oregon Duck transfers performed in Week 5 of the season

College football week 5 has come and gone, and now it’s time to check in with Oregon Ducks that have found new homes after their time in Eugene. This weekend, a lot of the players I typically check in with were on their teams bye week, so the list is a little lighter this week.

An interesting transfer story this season is the absence of Jal’il Tucker on the San Diego State defense. Tucker was a 4-star recruit for the Ducks in 2022, transferred after his freshman year, and has yet to see much of the field this year. With as much talent as he has, I hope to see him playing more consistently whether it’s with the Aztecs or another program.
