ONE Championship has a new heavyweight champion, and he got there with authority.
Anatoly Malykhin (11-0) knocked out Kirill Grishenko (5-1) in the second round to win the interim heavyweight title in the “ONE Championship: Bad Blood” main event in Singapore.
Malykhin used a speed advantage early in the fight and had Grishenko quickly playing defense. Malykhin unloaded with punches in bunches just past the midway point of the second round and finally landed the punch that put Grishenko on the canvas.
For the knockout, Malykhin picked up $100,000 in bonuses to go with his new title.
