2 Texas A&M 2025 commits skyrocket in On3’s rankings update

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class now features two of the highest ranked defenders

Texas A&M’s 2025 recruiting class is defensively dominated, which isn’t surprising under head coach Mike Elko, whose elite defensive background has garnered interest from nearly every top-ranked D-line and secondary prospect in the country.

After losing 5-star quarterback Husan Longstreet to the USC Trojans, Texas A&M’s 2025 cycle is now ranked 10th nationally, according to On3. Monday’s class rankings update saw two of the Aggies’ commits, including 4-star Edge Marco Jones and 4-star cornerback Jamar Beal-Goines.

Beal-Goines, who is by far the most underrated commit in the class, has risen from 198th to 62nd and is now firmly a 4-star prospect, while Marco Jones is just five spots higher at 57th, rocketing up from 172nd in On3’s class rankings.

In today’s college football landscape, these rankings are even more important, knowing that players like Jones and Beal-Goines will need to see the field as soon as their first season, knowing that the talent level will hopefully match the play on the field.

Texas A&M remains one of the top ranked SEC 2024 recruiting classes in On3’s current rankings

Texas A&M remains as one of the top 10 SEC programs positioned in On3’s newest 2024 recruiting classes rankings.

Just two short months ago, Texas A&M’s “struggling” 2024 recruiting class began its memorable momentum run, resulting in 14 players, including one five-star and 13 four-star prospects, verbally committing to the program with a collective understanding that Head Coach Jimbo Fisher’s vision for the future is built around player development and competing for Championships; no matter what the naysayers yell into the college football oblivion year to year.

Even after the June/July recruiting boom, the Aggies landed four-star OT Blake Ivy last weekend, a future stalworth talent with position versatility, as Texas A&M’s 2024 offensive line group has already matched the 2021 class made up of three current O-line starters, including center Bryce Foster (2021 four-star), left tackle Trey Zuhn (2021 four-star), and right tackle Reuben Fatheree (2021 four-star).

Hanging around the Top 10 rankings for most of the summer, On3’s newest Top 25 2024 team recruiting rankings saw little change at the top, though, as usual, the SEC is well represented while Texas A&M could easily break into the Top 5 with several high priority prospects committing this fall, including five-star athlete Terry Bussey.

Here is the complete breakdown of every SEC team ranked within On3’s 2024 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
