Against the spread

LEAN BAYLOR -9.5 (-110).

Baylor has played well on its home floor this season with a 11-2 record while Oklahoma has played poorly on the road with a 1-5 record. The Bears are coming off a massive home win as 9.5-point favorites and will be looking for a duplicate performance again on Wednesday to propel them into the top 10.

Baylor’s offense ranks 31st in the nation in points per game (78.9) and is facing a Sooners’ defense that allows 66.3 points per game (86th).

The Sooners have been struggling against the spread recently with a 1-5-1 ATS record in their last 7 games while Baylor is 5-2-1 ATS in its last 8.

Over/Under

BET OVER 140.5 (-110).

Both teams’ O/U record this season is 12-11 pointing toward their ability to score a lot of points.

The Over is 3-0 in the Sooners’ last 3 games, 6-2 in their last 8, and 6-2 in their last 8 road games.

For Baylor, the Over is 9-1 in its last 10 games following an outright win of more than 20 points. As it stands, 140.5 points would be the Bear’s second-lowest closing line in their last 10 games.

Oklahoma at Baylor odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Oklahoma Sooners at Baylor Bears odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners (9-0, 6-0 Big 12) and No. 18 Baylor Bears (7-2, 4-2) cross paths in a Big 12 showdown Saturday at noon ET at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas. Below, we look at the Oklahoma vs. Baylor odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Oklahoma is coming off a bye week. A high-octane Sooners offense has scored at least 35 points in five straight games, and heads into this key road tilt ranked fifth in the nation in scoring (42.9 points per game). In its last 10 games off byes, Oklahoma is 9-1 straight up and 7-3 against the spread.

Baylor allowed a season-high 562 total yards in a 30-28 loss at TCU last Saturday. The loss for the Bears snapped a three-game win streak. They now return home to McLane Stadium where they are 5-0 this season.

Oklahoma at Baylor odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Baylor 34, Oklahoma 31

Money line

The Sooners were flat two games back against Kansas and aided by turnovers and short-field scores two weeks ago when they beat Texas Tech 52-21. They may be gettable in this spot on the road.

Baylor fell flat in its loss at TCU last week. Look for a bounce back and a complete-game effort from a BU team with a quality offense and 2020 revenge in its heart. Last year’s contest — a 27-14 OU triumph — saw the Sooners register three scoring drives under 55 yards.

BACK THE BEARS (+160).

Against the spread

Over the last three seasons, Baylor is 11-4 ATS vs. winning teams. Across the last five OU-BU games in Waco, the Bears are 4-1 ATS.

BU’s offense is a decent mix of run and pass with solid doses of efficiency and explosiveness.

Consider pairing BEARS +4.5 (-110) with the above in a mix that puts 75% of the action on the ATS side.

Over/Under

Respecting the number here, pegging 4 to 5 scores per side in a close one. PASS.

Oklahoma at Baylor: Three things to know

  1. Oklahoma beat then-No. 8 West Virginia 75-71 as a 1.5-point home favorite Saturday. The Sooners blew an 18-point halftime lead – the game was tied with 5 minutes to go – but managed to pull away just enough for their fourth win in their last five games. Junior G Umoja Gibson sank 8 of the Sooners’ 11 3-pointers and scored a season-high 29 points as OU avoided a second consecutive loss. In its previous game, Oklahoma lost at home to then-No. 14 Texas Tech 69-67 (Dec. 22). Senior G Austin Reaves leads OU in scoring (15.5 PPG), rebounds (5.0 RPG) and assists (5.4 APG).
  2. Baylor knocked off Iowa State 76-65 on the road Saturday, failing to cover the 15.5-point spread. Junior G Jared Butler‘s 21 points led four Bears in double figures as Baylor prevailed in its narrowest margin of the season. The Bears won seven of their previous eight games by at least 29 points. Butler leads the Bears with 16.0 PPG, while sophomore F Jonathan Tchamwa Tchatchoua leads in rebounds at 8.0 RPG.
  3. The Bears own a five-game win streak against the Sooners. Baylor swept last season’s series: 65-54 at Oklahoma as a 2.5-point favorite Feb. 18, and 61-57 at home, failing to cover as a 10.5-point favorite, Jan. 20.

Oklahoma at Baylor: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Baylor 87, Oklahoma 74

Money line (ML)

PASS. The Bears (-750), who lead the country in 3-point shooting at 43.8%, had their worst 3-point performance of the season in the Iowa State victory. They missed their first six 3-point attempts vs. ISU – all in the first half – and finished 4-for-19 (21.1%).

That won’t happen Wednesday. The Bears’ 3-point accuracy will return with this game on their home floor as they improve to 10-0; however, the -750 price is too steep and not worth the risk.

Against the spread (ATS)

BAYLOR -11.5 (-110) is the way to go. Reiterating the 3-point story mentioned above, the Bears will light up the Sooners in this one. Oklahoma’s 3-point defense is awful, allowing opponents to hit at a 39.6% rate, which ranks 332nd in the country.

ATS records: Oklahoma 4-4 | Baylor 7-2

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 151.5 (-110) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1½ times your usual wager. Oklahoma averages 81.8 PPG overall and 74.7 PPG in Big 12 games. Baylor averages 92.9 PPG overall (ranking 3rd in the nation) and 88.0 PPG in conference games.

Be warned: This goes against the series trend of 5 consecutive Unders. The key is the Bears coming off the bad 3-point outing. The 3’s swish as they’re back in their familiar confines of Ferrell Center.

O/U records: Oklahoma 4-4 | Baylor 4-5
