Oklahoma is eyeing its second Biletnikoff Award winner in the last four years.

Junior wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has been one of the best receivers in all of college football this season, and he has received the recognition for it as Lamb as been named a Biletnikoff Award finalist for the most outstanding college football receiver regardless of position.

The Richmond, Texas, native has 999 receiving yards on the season so far with 15 total touchdowns. His ability to take short catches and turn them into long touchdowns has separated himself from the competition in college football.

The other two finalists for the Biletnikoff Award are LSU’s Ja’Marr Chase and USC’s Michael Pittman Jr.. Chase has 1,260 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns on the season thus far, as Pittman Jr. has 1,222 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

The winner of the Biletnikoff Award will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. CT at the The Home Depot College Football Awards, which will be televised on ESPN.

Oklahoma fans send Tua Tagovailoa support and encouragement

On Saturday at the Oklahoma vs. TCU game, Oklahoma fans signed an Oklahoma flag with words of encouragement and mailed it to Tagovailoa

Since Tua Tagovailoa endured a season-ending injury against Mississippi State less than 10 days ago, Tagovailoa has been receiving letters, prayers, support and love from all over the world, even from Sooner Nation.

On Saturday at the Oklahoma vs. TCU game, Oklahoma fans signed an Oklahoma flag with words of encouragement and mailed the flag to Tagovailoa.

Jalen Hurts, the former Alabama quarterback who is now the starter at Oklahoma, is good friends with Tagovailoa, and had these words to say when he found out about Tagovailoa’s injury:

Tagovailoa is not only going down in history as one of the greatest quarterbacks in Alabama and NCAA history, but he’s also one of the most respected quarterbacks in the country, by fans all over the world.

When you have a quarterback who is full of class, humility, leadership, and character, you can’t help but love him. Tagovailoa’s injury was tragic and devastating, but it’s also shown that at the end of the day, football is truly more than just a game.

College Football Playoff projections following Week 13

Predicting the College Football Playoff rankings after Week 13.

Week 13 saw Georgia football beat a talented Texas A&M team to advance to 10-1 on the season.

Georgia looked like it has all season – unable to finish a drive on offense but smothering on defense.

That’s been Georgia’s recipe this season, but how much longer will it work? We will find out in two weeks when the Dawgs take on LSU in Atlanta.

Right now, Georgia is sitting at No. 4 in the College Football Playoff rankings behind LSU (1), Ohio State (2) and Clemson (3).

Right behind the Bulldogs is Alabama, hoping that it can not only win next week vs Auburn but also that LSU will take care of business in the SEC Championship, thus eliminating Georgia from playoff contention.

Behind Alabama currently is Oregon, but that won’t last long after the Ducks lost to Arizona State. The best part about Oregon losing is that now we don’t have to hear about how Rob Mullens, the Oregon AD and the chair of the CFP selection committee, is “recused from the room” when the committee discusses the Ducks. Is it just me, or has that been mentioned way too many times this season?

Ohio State definitely had the most impressive win of the weekend among the teams near the top of the rankings (Arizona State probably had the best win, though, in beating Oregon). I would not expect the committee to swap LSU and OSU, however. LSU’s beaten plenty of top-ten teams itself.

Then there’s Utah, which is 10-1 and needs some help to make it into the final four. The Utes have not really beaten anyone, but if Georgia and Alabama both fall and Utah wins its conference, then it has a much better argument.

Oklahoma, however, assuming it wins out, will be right there with Utah vying for that last Playoff spot if both Alabama and Georgia lose before the final rankings reveal after the conference championship games wrap up.

Here’s our College Football Playoff projections:

Oklahoma moves to No. 7 in Amway Coaches Poll

The Sooners narrowly escaped their final home game of the season versus TCU, escaping with a 28-24 victory over the Horned Frogs,

The Sooners narrowly escaped their final home game of the season versus TCU, escaping with a 28-24 victory over the Horned Frogs, moving to No.7 in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports. With the win, the Sooners clinched their spot in the Big 12 Championship versus Baylor.

Oklahoma overcame two costly Jalen Hurts penalties to beat the Horned Frogs, as the defense stepped up in a big way down the stretch, getting multiple steps and finishing the game off with an interception.

Other than their win, several other pieces fell into place for a possible Sooners path to the College Football Playoffs.

Two top-10 teams in Oregon and Penn State fell on Saturday, paving an easier way for the Sooners. Oregon was ranked No. 6, but after a loss to unranked Arizona State, they fell to No. 13. The Nittany Lions were No. 9, and lost a close bout with Ohio State for their second loss of the season, moving them to 12.

Next week, the Sooners take on No. 21 Oklahoma State in their final regular season game of the year.

The Big 12 championship between Baylor and Oklahoma will be held on December 7.

Oklahoma up to No. 7 in AP poll

No. 7 Oklahoma (10-1, 7-1) escaped their final home game of the season with a win, hanging on against TCU 28-24.

The Sooners are back in the race.

No. 7 Oklahoma (10-1, 7-1) escaped their final home game of the season with a win, hanging on against TCU 28-24 to clinch their spot against Baylor in the Big 12 title game. Oregon and Penn State weren’t so lucky, as the Sooners vaulted ahead of both following their second losses of the season.

Brendan Radley-Hiles last-minute interception sealed the win, as the Sooners controversially earned a first down on the next drive to slip away with the win.

Previously No. 6, Oregon was downed by unranked Arizona State. the Ducks couldn’t recover after falling down 21-7 in the fourth quarter, eventually losing 31-28, dropping them to No. 13 and out of the playoff race.

In a top-10 matchup, No. 2 Ohio State defeated the ninth-ranked Nittany Lions 28-17, ending their playoff chances and putting them at No. 12.

Texas A&M attempted to mount a comeback over Georgia, but fell short 19-13, dropping them out of the top 25.

Next week, Oklahoma takes on No. 21 Oklahoma State, who beat West Virginia 20-13, in Stillwater in the final game of the regular season.

Baylor, who handled Texas 24-10, will face Kansas before their rematch with the Sooners in the Big 12 Title game.

Oregon’s 31-28 loss to Arizona State opens College Football Playoff door wide open for Oklahoma

Chaos is what was needed and chaos is what Oklahoma got. Oregon’s 31-28 loss to Arizona State has opened OU’s CFP hopes wide open.

Chaos is what was needed, and chaos is what No. 9 Oklahoma (9-1, 6-1 Big 12) got.

While leading Big 12 Conference opponent TCU 28-24 with under two to play, No. 6 Oregon has fallen to Arizona State 31-28.

Justin Herbert threw two interceptions in the Duck’s loss.

Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels threw for 402 yards and 3 touchdowns in the Sun Devils’ upset over Oregon.

With an Oklahoma win, they will move at least one spot in the College Football Playoff rankings.

The Ducks let up 535 yards of offense and won despite committing 12 penalties for 90 yards. The Sun Devils kept the Ducks off the field, holding on to the ball for 36 minutes and 25 seconds to Oregon’s 23 minutes and seconds of possession.

The Ducks’ is half of what the Sooners need to happen in the PAC-12. Utah needs to lose a game either next week or to Oregon in the PAC-12 Championship for Oklahoma to have a better shot to get into the CFP.
