Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (38-42) go up against the Utah Jazz (36-43) on Thursday at Vivint Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Jazz odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Thunder fell 136-125 to the Golden State Warriors Tuesday and failed to cover as 7.5-point road underdogs. Oklahoma City has lost 3 straight games and is tied with the Dallas Mavericks for the No. 10 seed in the Western Conference, although OKC owns the tiebreaker.

The Jazz lost 135-133 in overtime to the Los Angeles Lakers Tuesday despite covering as 11-point home underdogs. Utah has also lost 3 consecutive games and trails the Thunder and Mavericks by 1.5 games for the final play-in spot in the Western Conference.

Oklahoma City and Utah will meet for the fourth time this season on Thursday. The Thunder went 2-1 straight up and 2-0-1 against the spread and the Over was 2-1 in the first three meetings.

Thunder at Jazz picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 122, Jazz 112

Moneyline

AVOID.

The Thunder (-250) need a win with the Mavericks securing a victory on Wednesday night, but taking them straight up at these steep odds isn’t advised in this contest.

Against the spread

THUNDER -6.5 (-110) is the choice in this showdown with Oklahoma City desperate to sneak into the playoffs. Markkanen and a few starters are sidelined for the Jazz, while G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and G Josh Giddey are available for the Thunder.

Oklahoma City is 4-1-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings overall between these teams and 6-2-1 ATS in the last 9 meetings in Utah.

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 237.5 (-110).

Both of these teams play at a top-12 pace in the NBA, but the Jazz don’t have enough offensive firepower available Thursday to help hit the Over. The Under is also 19-7 in the last 26 meetings between these teams in Utah.

Crazy enough, this will be the 1st of 4 games between these teams this season.

Thunder at Jazz picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 122, Jazz 120

Moneyline

PASS.

This is playable either way, but I would rather take the spread to get a point in favor of the road side.

Against the spread

BET THUNDER -1.5 (+100).

The trends support the Thunder here. For starters, the Jazz are just 11-18 ATS as a favorite. They have thrived this season when an underdog. The Jazz have failed to cover 3 straight home games as well. The Jazz began as favorites, but this has turned into a pick ’em.

The Thunder are also 17-10-1 ATS on the road, and they are 26-13-1 ATS as an underdog. Utah will also be down a key scoring option in Sexton while the Thunder come in at full strength.

The dominance of G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander should be on display against a Jazz defense that gives up the 8th-most points per game to guards. Ultimately, back THUNDER -1.5 (+100).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 240.5 (-110).

The Thunder rank 3rd in the NBA in pace while the Jazz sit 14th. Neither team ranks in the top 10 in defensive rating either. The Jazz have gone Over in 4 of their last 6 games and have scored 120 or more in 3 of their last 4.

OKC, on the other hand, has gone Over in 4 of its last 6 as well and has topped 130 in 3 of its last 4. Back the OVER 240.5 (-110).

Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (24-55) visit Vivint Smart Home Arena Wednesday to take on the Utah Jazz (47-32). Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Thunder vs. Jazz odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The Thunder are coming off a 4-point home victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, coving as 3.5-point favorites. Oklahoma City is 9-2 against the spread (ATS) in its last 11 games, but only 2-2 in its last 4.

The Thunder, without most of its key players, were led by F Jaylen Hoard, who scored 24 points and grabbed 21 rebounds in their 98-94 win over Portland. OKC has been long eliminated from playoff contention.

As for the Jazz, it still has seeding to play for and potentially home-court advantage on the line. Utah is 5th in the Western Conference, a half-game ahead of the Denver Nuggets.

Utah also played Tuesday night, pushing as 6-point home favorites. It won 121-115 in overtime against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Jazz are 0-7-1 ATS in its last 8 games.

Thunder at Jazz odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Jazz 115, Thunder 101

Money line

PASS.

The Thunder are actually an enticing play here, but I’ll opt to pass even at +1100 as the Jazz have the motivation to win this game, unlike the Suns did against OKC the other night.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

LEAN to the THUNDER +17.5 (-112).

This is more of a bet against the Jazz’s dominance.

They failed to cover 7 straight games prior to their push against the Grizzlies. Utah still has motivation and wants to hold the No. 5 spot in the conference to avoid the Golden State Warriors and get the Dallas Mavericks instead.

Considering Oklahoma City is more of a question mark with many of its key players out, bettors should look toward the total for better value.

OKC did win Sunday against Phoenix, who had already clinched the conference, despite being double-digit underdogs. It should be able to keep this game within 18. OKC is 27-11 ATS as a road underdog this season.

Over/Under

BET on the UNDER 219.5 (-115).

The Jazz’s defense should be able to heavily limit an OKC team that doesn’t have much to play for and will be without almost all of its key scorers. Utah is 4-5 O/U in its last 9.

OKC has gone under the projected total in 3 straight games and has scored under 102 in 2 of the 3.

Given its lack of playmaking, the Thunder may struggle to score against a team that needs to win and is at home. OKC is 17-21 O/U as a road underdog this season.

Previewing Tuesday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (20-33) visit the Utah Jazz (40-14) at Vivint Arena at 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Thunder-Jazz odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Thunder are on a six-game skid, last winning March 31 against the visiting Toronto Raptors. OKC is also 0-6 ATS across the past six outings, too. These two teams haven’t met since Dec. 28, a 110-109 win by the Jazz at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

The Jazz are looking to bounce back after a 125-121 loss against the visiting Washington Wizards, falling outright as a 10.5-point favorite. Utah has scored 121 or more points in three consecutive outings, and the Over is 3-1 across their past four contests.

Thunder at Jazz: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Jazz 123, Thunder 104

Money line (ML)

The Jazz (-1600) will cost you 16 times your potential return. That’s a horrible betting strategy, no matter how sure a thing it might be. Plus, Utah is coming off a straight-up loss as a double-digit favorite, so let that serve as a cautionary tale.

AVOID.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The JAZZ -16.5 (-110) are worth playing lightly. This is a huge number, especially for a team coming off an upset loss to Washington last time out. But the Thunder +16.5 (-110) are horrific lately, they’re banged up, and they’re 0-6 SU/ATS over the past six.

And if it makes you feel better, Utah covered this number before, winning 114-75 over the Cavaliers March 29.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 224.5 (-110) is worth a small-unit wager here, especially since Utah has thrown in at least 121 points in each of the past three. The concern is whether or not OKC can hang and hit triple digits. The Thunder is averaging 98.8 PPG across the past six outings.
