Analyzing Sunday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Portland Trail Blazers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (36-38) and Portland Trail Blazers (32-41) meet Sunday at Moda Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Trail Blazers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Thunder failed to cover the spread as 3.5-point underdogs Friday in a 116-111 loss at the Los Angeles Lakers. Oklahoma City has lost back-to-back games for the 1st time since March 1.

The Trail Blazers failed to cover as 7.5-point home underdogs Friday in a 124-96 loss vs. the Chicago Bulls. G Shaedon Sharpe scored a team-high 24 points in the absence of Portland’s 4 leading scorers.

Oklahoma City leads this season’s series 3-0 straight up and against the spread while the Over has hit in 2 of the 3 meetings. The Thunder covered as 2.5-point road underdogs in a 138-129 win as the Over 240 cashed in the most recent meeting Feb. 10.

Thunder at Trail Blazers picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 128, Trail Blazers 108

Moneyline

PASS.

Oklahoma City has won 7 straight meetings vs. Portland and should win again Sunday, but there is no need to pay the higher price on the moneyline when the Thunder should win by margin. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

BET THUNDER -8.5 (-112).

Oklahoma City is sitting at 10th in the Western Conference and has more motivation to play well in this game than the shorthanded Trail Blazers. The Thunder are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 after failing to cover in their previous contest. The Trail Blazers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 home games and should struggle to keep this game close without their 4 leading scorers.

Over/Under

BET OVER 230.5 (-110).

The Over is 7-2-1 in Oklahoma City’s last 10 games and 5-2-1 in its last 8 after a loss.

The Over has hit in 6 of Portland’s last 7 games and is 7-3 in its last 10 at home. Look for this game to be high-scoring as Oklahoma City blows out the shorthanded Trail Blazers and keeps its playoff hopes alive.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (26-28) visit the Portland Trail Blazers (27-28) Friday. Tip from Moda Center is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Trail Blazers odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Thunder took down the Lakers 133-130 Tuesday, covering as 6.5-point road underdogs. They are 2-3 in their last 5 games and 5-5 in their last 10. In that same span, Oklahoma City is 5-4-1 against the spread (ATS) to improve to 33-20-1 ATS this season.

The Trail Blazers knocked off the Warriors 125-122 Wednesday to push as 3-point home favorites. Although they are 4-2 outright in their last 6 games, they are just 2-3-1 ATS in that span. Portland is 4-5-1 ATS in its last 10 and is 28-26-1 ATS on the season.

The Blazers were also active on Thursday before the deadline. They sent Gary Payton II to the Warriors in exchange for picks and received G Cam Reddish, G Matisse Thybulle and G Ryan Arcidiacono in a 4-team trade in which they sent picks.

Thunder at Trail Blazers picks and predictions

Prediction

Portland 125, Oklahoma City 123

Moneyline

PASS.

At -155 odds on Portland, the moneyline is not worth a play in this game as there would only be a minuscule return.

Against the spread

BET THUNDER +3.5 (-115).

The Thunder have been moneymakers against the spread this season with a 33-20-1 ATS record. They are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 Friday games and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing 125 or more points in their previous game.

In their previous 2 matchups this season, the Thunder have taken down the Blazers both times as 4-point underdogs. The Thunder are also 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings between the 2.

Portland is just 1-4 ATS in its last 5 Friday games and has not played well on 1 day’s rest with just a 4-13-1 ATS record under such conditions.

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 241.5 (-110).

With the No. 3 ranked scoring offense in the NBA averaging 117.6 points per game, the Thunder have a O/U record of 32-22 this season. The Over is 5-2 in their last 7 games including 2-0 in their last 2 road games.

For the Blazers, the Over is 6-3 in their last 9 and 4-1 in their last 5 home games against a team with a losing record.

Portland also has a tendency to get hot from the field ranking 7th in the league in field goal percentage and 8th in 3-point percentage.

Thunder at Trail Blazers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 110, Blazers 101

Money line

This is a battle of struggling teams, but the Blazers seem to be struggling the most. The Thunder have lost 11 of their last 12 contests and recently had a 10-game losing skid, but the Blazers are just 2-13 since the All-Star break and have lost 11 of those games by at least 17 points. Eight of those losses have been by at least 30 points.

Nine games during the Thunder’s 10-game skid came to teams who will be in the playoffs or the play-in games. This is the first game all season the Thunder have been favored on the road.

Take the THUNDER (-145).

Against the spread

The Blazers have been an awful bet since the All-Star break with eight of their 13 losses since then coming by at least 30 points and 11 of them coming by at least 17 points. They have covered the spread in four of their last 10 games but are 4-11 ATS since the All-Star Break.

The Thunder are 45-24-4 ATS overall this season and 26-11 ATS on the road. They are 14-5 ATS on the road against teams below .500. They have covered the spread in six straight games.

Take the THUNDER -2.5 (-115).

Over/Under

Excluding their two wins, the Trail Blazers have averaged 99.7 points per game since the All-Star break. They have failed to score 100 in nine of those 15 contests.

The Thunder are the lowest-scoring team in the league this season at 103.4 ppg.

Take UNDER 220.5 (-108).

Analyzing Friday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Portland Trail Blazers odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (16-34) take on the Portland Trail Blazers (21-31) for the second time in five days Friday, but this time it will be on the road. They tip off at Moda Center at 10 p.m. ET. The Thunder are only 4-14 in their last 18 games but have won their last two games, including a 98-81 win over the Blazers in Oklahoma City Monday. Only the Houston Rockets (15-36) have a worse record in the Western Conference than the Thunder.

The Blazers return home after a 1-3 trip and are 7-18 overall on the road this season. Before dropping their last three road games, they won five out of six on the road. Now, they return to the Moda Center, where they are a completely different team featuring a 14-13 record.

Thunder at Trail Blazers odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Trail Blazers 107, Thunder 102

Money line

PASS.

As much as it would be great to win on the Thunder (+220) line, they have been as bad on the road as the Blazers, going 7-18. Portland seems to play like a different team at home, although it lost four of its last six games in Moda Center.

The Blazers are 7-7 in their last 14 games compared to the Thunder’s 4-14 in their last 18.

The Blazers will snap their losing streak, but betting a -280 money line doesn’t make sense, having to wager nearly three times what you can win.

Against the spread

TAKE THE THUNDER +6.5 (-115).

They have been a fantastic ATS bet all season, posting a 31-17-2 mark, including 16-9 on the road. They’re also 21-12 ATS against the Western Conference.

The Blazers, on the other hand, are only 21-30-1 ATS this season but 13-13-1 ATS at home. They have struggled against Western Conference teams at 11-21 ATS.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 213.5 (-108).

In Monday’s head-to-head contest, the teams combined for only 179 points.

The Thunder are the lowest-scoring team in the league at 101.1 points per game but only allow 107.6 PPG to their opponents. They have scored fewer than 100 points in four of their last seven games.

The Thunder picked up a 120-114 win in their last game – Wednesday at Dallas – but they game went overtime. Plus, they have not had a game hit the Over in their last six after allowing at least 100 points in their previous game. They also have not had a game hit the Over in their last four following when they scored 100 points.

Four of the last five games for the Blazers have cashed Under the projected total going against a team with a losing record and also in their last five home games.
