Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Oklahoma City Thunder (41-18) and Phoenix Suns (35-25) meet at Footprint Center Sunday. Tip-off is set for 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Suns odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: Thunder lead 1-0

The Thunder were embarrassed last time out losing straight up as 11-point favorites in a 132-118 defeat at the San Antonio Spurs Thursday. G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had a game-high 31 points, and the Over hit for the 9th time in Oklahoma City’s last 11 games (9-1-1).

The Suns can relate to being upset as big favorites. Phoenix, which was favored by 9 points, lost 118-109 to the Houston Rockets Saturday with the Under (231.5) cashing at Footprint Center. G Devin Booker (ankle) was forced to leave in the 4th quarter; he has yet to be ruled out for Sunday.

In a Nov. 12 meeting, the Thunder covered as 3.5-point underdogs with a 111-99 win at Phoenix as the Under (232) hit. Gilgeous-Alexander had 35 points, and Oklahoma City outscored the Suns 31-13 in the 4th quarter.

Thunder at Suns picks and predictions

Prediction

Thunder 120, Suns 119

Moneyline

The Thunder (-250) should be able to take advantage of the banged-up Suns playing on the 2nd night of a back-to-back. However, this number is a little high.

PASS. Bet the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

This spread seems like an overreaction to Booker injuring his ankle and C Jusuf Nurkic leaving with a sprained neck against Houston. F Kevin Durant and G Bradley Beal should be able to do most of the heavy-lifting for Phoenix offensively and keep this game somewhat close.

The Thunder are in a good spot after getting embarrassed at the Spurs, but this is way too many points for a team to lay on the road against Durant and Beal.

BET SUNS +6.5 (-110).

Over/Under

The Over is 9-1-1 in the Thunder’s last 11 games, and I’m not looking to fade that trend.

The Suns put up just 109 points last time out — their lowest output in the last 14 games — and even if Booker sits, they should bounce back offensively behind a more productive night from Durant and Beal.

BET OVER 233.5 (-110).

Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (31-34) take on the Phoenix Suns (36-29) Wednesday at Footprint Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Suns odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Thunder defeated the Golden State Warriors 137-128 Tuesday and covered as 4.5-point underdogs at home. Oklahoma City is on a 3-game winning streak.

The Suns covered as 2-point road favorites in Sunday’s 130-126 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Phoenix is also on a 3-game winning streak with F Kevin Durant seeing increased minutes recently.

Oklahoma City and Phoenix will face each other for the 2nd time this season. The teams pushed the 9-point spread as the Suns won 124-115 and the Over hit in the 1st meeting in Phoenix on Feb. 24.

Thunder at Suns picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 126, Thunder 113

Moneyline

AVOID.

The Suns should cruise to a win at home, but taking them at the current odds (-900) isn’t advised with the minimal profit you’d get if they get the victory.

Against the spread

SUNS -13.5 (-110) is where I’ll lean in this game despite the Thunder being great ATS this season. Oklahoma City has already ruled out G Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and G Jalen Williams for Wednesday’s matchup, while Phoenix is beginning to heat up with Durant in the lineup.

The Suns are also 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.

Over/Under

OVER 233.5 (-110) is the pick in this game with the Suns being near full strength at home. Both of these teams are top 8 in offensive rating in their last 5 games overall.

The Thunder are 6-0-1 to the Over in their last 7 games overall. The Over has also been achieved in 5 of the last 7 meetings.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (20-27) take on the Phoenix Suns (33-14) on the road Friday night. Tip-off is at 10:10 p.m. in Phoenix Suns Arena. Below, we analyze the Thunder-Suns odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

The Thunder have a quick two-game road trip after a four-game homestand where they lost three of four, although they are coming off a 113-103 win over the Toronto Raptors. They are 4-6 in their last 10 games. They beat the Suns 102-97 in Phoenix on January 27.

The Suns are coming off an 11-3 month of March. They have won four games in a row and seven of their last eight. Coach Monty Williams was just named Western Conference Coach of the Month. Only the Utah Jazz and Brooklyn Nets have won more games this season than Phoenix.

Thunder at Suns: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Suns 117, Thunder 110

Money line (ML)

The Suns are not blowing teams out right now, but they keep on piling up wins. Only four teams have more home wins this season than they do. The Thunder will be missing three of their top four scorers in this contest and it is a matchup between the second-best team in the conference against the third-worst team. That should and will end in a Suns win.

However, with the Suns priced at -1000 on the money line, it isn’t worth your time. You have to invest 10 times more than you can win. Move to the spread or the total for a better priced bet.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The Suns have the league’s best record against the spread at 31-16. Up until recently, they had covered the spread in every single victory. However, they have failed to cover in two of their last three wins, as they have a tendency lately to let lesser, shorthanded teams stay competitive.

This game is one where the Suns tend to do that. Their average margin of victory in their last five wins is only six points. The Thunder have the fourth-highest cover percentage on the road this season at 65.2%. The Suns will definitely win this game, but they won’t win by more than 13. Take the THUNDER +13 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

Both Phoenix and Oklahoma City are 23-24 O/U this year. Their matchup in January only totaled 199 points with the total set at 215. Phoenix has scored 110 or more in 13 of its last 15 games, while the Thunder have put up 106 or more in five of their last six. That gives you a good chance of hitting the Over, especially expecting a relatively close game. Take OVER 220.5 POINTS (-110).
