Oklahoma City Thunder at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (20-23) and Brooklyn Nets (27-14) meet Sunday at Barclays Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Thunder vs. Nets odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Thunder covered the spread as 4-point underdogs Friday in a 124-110 win at the Chicago Bulls. G Josh Giddey matched his season high with 25 points as Oklahoma City improved to 4-1 straight up and 5-0 against the spread (ATS) in its last 5 games.

The Nets failed to cover as 1-point home underdogs Thursday in a 109-98 loss vs. the Boston Celtics. G Kyrie Irving scored a game-high 24 points in Brooklyn’s 1st game since F Kevin Durant (knee) got injured. The Nets are 1-3 ATS in their last 4 games.

This is the teams’ first meeting this season. In the last head-to-head meeting on Jan. 13, 2022, the Thunder covered as 5.5-point underdogs in a 130-109 win at Brooklyn.

Thunder at Nets picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 119, Thunder 118

Moneyline

PASS.

The Nets (-210) should be able to bounce back after Irving lost to his former team on national television Thursday. However, the price on the moneyline is too high considering how well the Thunder have been playing lately. Bet the spread or total instead.

Against the spread

BET THUNDER +5.5 (-108).

Oklahoma City is 13-5 ATS as an away underdog, covering a ridiculous 72.2% of games in that scenario. The Nets are vulnerable without their leading scorer in Durant and the Thunder have covered in 5 straight games for the 1st time this season. Look for Oklahoma City to continue playing above expectations and take the points.

Over/Under

BET OVER 229.5 (-108).

The Over is 7-0 in Oklahoma City’s last 7 games overall and 4-0 in Brooklyn’s last 4 vs. teams with a losing record. These teams have a history of playing high-scoring games vs. each other as the Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings and Sunday’s matchup should be more of the same.

Oklahoma City Thunder at Brooklyn Nets odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Oklahoma City Thunder at Brooklyn Nets odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Oklahoma City Thunder (13-27) travel to Barclays Center Thursday to take on the Brooklyn Nets (26-14). Tip-off is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Thunder vs. Nets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Coming off an electric win over the Bulls in the United Center last night, the Nets are now set for their second leg of a back-to-back. They’ll be at home, which means no Kyrie Irving, who has played 3 road games for Brooklyn.

Over the Nets’ last five, Brooklyn is +48 in games with Kyrie and -10 in the two games without him. On the season, the Nets are 15-24-1, the third-worst covering rate in the league.

On the other hand, the Thunder, a roster at almost full strength, is one of the best covering teams, sitting at 26-14. Oklahoma City has covered 5 of its last 6. However, the Thunder are just 5-14 on the road.

Thunder at Nets odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Nets 120, Thunder 108

Money line

PASS on the money line.

The Nets are rolling and are the significantly better team, but coming off a big-time, energy-draining win, I do think they could be sluggish. Regardless, the -340 has little to no value. Similarly, neither does OKC’s +260.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the THUNDER +7.5 (-120).

The Thunder have been rolling lately, and while that hasn’t translated in wins, they’ve covered four of their last five, despite losing all five. OKC is 12-7 as road underdogs.

The Nets are the worst covering team in the NBA when home favorites. They’re just 3-16-1. This is a great letdown spot for the Nets who have struggled to blow teams out at home.

They’re welcoming a gritty Thunder team that has a bona fide superstar in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and a thriving defense, one that ranks 13th in opponents’ points per game.

Over/Under

BET on the OVER 218.5 (-110).

Brooklyn is coming off a 138-point performance against the Bulls in Chicago. When their Big 3 is on the court, they’re an unstoppable offense. The Nets Over is 6-4 in their last 10 games. They’ve put up 120 or more in 3 of their last 5.

Even with Durant and former MVP G James Harden, they’re difficult to tame, and the Thunder really don’t have anyone that can contend with the lengthy Durant.

The Thunder have been going with an ultra-small starting five, one prone to getting in transition battles. Their tallest starter against Washington was 6-foot-9. Durant should have his way with the smaller OKC lineup.

OKC is also 5-5 on the O/U in its last 10.

Thunder at Nets: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nets 111, Thunder 98

Money line (ML)

The Nets (-400) are massive money line favorites in this game, but there just isn’t enough value. They’ve been a bit inconsistent to start the season and the big reason why is due to injuries. They are healthier entering this game and should win easily, but PASS on the money line in favor of the point spread.

Against the spread (ATS)

Despite nearly identical records, the NETS -8.5 (-110) are the far more talented team with scorers all over the floor. This should be a double-digit line, so take the value here on Brooklyn before the gap grows.

Over/Under (O/U)

OKC has the second-worst offense in the NBA, averaging 101.9 points per game. While the Nets could certainly score into the 120s in this game by themselves, take the UNDER 226.5 (-110) as the Thunder won’t offer much help.
