A whopping 647 Ohio State athletes named scholars for 2019-2020 academic year

Ohio State announced 647 names that were honored as scholar-athletes for the academic year of 2019-2020.

It’s not all about what happens on the field. Ohio State has long dominated in athletics, but it probably doesn’t get enough credit for the work all the student-athletes do in the classroom. Truth be known, it is much more important than most of what happens between the lines of competition for most.

On that note, Ohio State recognized its distinguished scholar-athletes for the academic 2019-2020 academic year, and a total of 647 athletes made the list. In order to be an honoree, an athlete must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or better, and be enrolled for the entire academic year.

A lot of those honored are multi-year repeats too. In fact, 99 of the names recognized are four-year scholar-athletes. For a complete list, you can go to the Ohio State athletic website.

Well done by all of these young men and women. This should probably get more publicity than what it does.
