Rutgers football hosted running back Ohifame Ijeboi this past weekend.

This past weekend, Philadelphia running back Ohifame Ijeboi took an official visit to Rutgers football. It was a trip that he says surprised him, as learned about the program on and off the field.

A class of 2024 prospect from William Penn (Philadelphia, PA), Ijeboi is a track star who ran a personal-best 10.89 time in the 100 meters this spring.

Ijeboi plans on taking an official visit this weekend to Minnesota. On the trip to Minnesota, Ijeboi hopes to “See the facilities, get to know the staff and how things are developing – doing a lot of comparing and contrasting.”

In addition to Minnesota and Rutgers, he also holds offers from Northwestern, Vanderbilt and even several Ivy League offers.

Ohifame Ijeboi previews Rutgers football official visit, talks other visits and commitment plans

Ohifame Ijeboi previews his upcoming Rutgers football official visit.

This weekend, Ohifame Ijeboi will be taking an official visit to Rutgers football. He is a player that was offered by Rutgers just three weeks ago but is already developing a good relationship with the Big Ten program.

Ijeboi is a 6-foot, 200-pound running back from William Penn (Philadelphia, PA). He holds Power Five offers from Northwester, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech in addition to Rutgers. His most recent offer came from UConn on June 2.

Interest is beginning to come in from the likes of Miami, Virginia, Notre Dame and Tulane as well.

This spring during treack season, he ran a 10.89 time in the 100 meters  for William Penn. In May at the Under Armour camp in Baltimore, he clocked a 4.51 time in the 40.

He is being helped through this recruiting process by his two older brothers, 19-year-old Joel Ijeboi (who played high school football as well as basketball) and 24-year-old Theo Ijeboi (a former soccer player at Jefferson University)

Watch: Rutgers football recruit Ohifame Ijeboi outruns the camera on an 85-yard touchdown run

Ohifame Ijeboi, a Rutgers football recruit, had a superb highlight during his junior season.

A prospect is fast when he outruns the camera. But that’s just what Rutgers football running back recruit Ohifame Ijeboi did last season.

Ijeboi, who set an official visit to Rutgers for this weekend, is an under-the-radar running back prospect out of William Penn (Philadelphia, PA). He is also fast and is one of the top sprinters in the region, competing in both the 100 meters and the 200 meters.

And when it comes to running 85 yards, the 6-foot, 190-pound running back outpaces the camera at his games.

Last September against Father Judge High School (Saltsburg, PA), Ijeboi opened the game with an 85-yard touchdown run that saw him zoom right out of focus. In fact, the camera doesn’t catch up to him until he is crossing the end zone for a touchdown.

And it looks like he goes untouched on the run.

William Penn won the game 40-26. Ijeboi is set to take an official visit to Rutgers this weekend.

In the outdoor track season this spring, Ijeboi ran a personal-best 10.89 time in the 100 meters.

Rutgers is currently his only Power Five offer.

Oh yes: Ohifame Ijeboi sets an official visit for Rutgers football

Ohifame Ijeboi is set for a Rutgers football official visit in June.

Pennsylvania running back Ohifame Ijeboi will be taking an official visit to Rutgers football this weekend. The player made the announcement via his social media on Monday afternoon.

A 6-foot, 190-pound running back from William Penn (Philadelphia, PA), Ijeboi is quietly developing into a very strong recruit. He holds Power Five offers from Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech. His most recent offer came from UConn on June 2.

He also holds several MAC offers, an offer from Temple and four Ivy League offers.

Ijeboi is a recent offer for Rutgers, having received the offer on May 20. He will be on his official visit the weekend of June 9.

Speed is a big selling point for Ijeboi. This spring, he ran a 10.89 time in the 100 meters during the outdoor track season for William Penn. In May at the Under Armour camp in Baltimore, he clocked a 4.51 time in the 40.

The best-ever time at that camp was Johnathan Taylor, now the starting running back of the Indianapolis Colts. Taylor, from Salem, N.J., was a former track star in high school who ran a 4.43 time at the event as a junior.

He is a lights-out recruit with a physical make-up that projects well towards being an impact player in the Big Ten.

Given his physical strength and speed, Ijeboi has the ability to take over games at the high school level. In his final game of the 2021 season, Ijeboi ran for 252 yards in a win over Germantown Academy.
