Gators offer 4-star 2025 tight end out of Midwest

Florida officially joined the recruiting race for four-star tight end Brock Schott on Wednesday by extending him an offer.

The latest class of 2025 recruit to pick up an offer from the Florida Gators is Leo (Indiana) tight end [autotag]Brock Schott[/autotag], according to Gators Online.

The Gators offered him on Wednesday over the phone, and Schott is keeping the door open for Billy Napier and Co. Tight ends coach Russ Callaway is the coach tasked with recruiting him, but the relationship is still in the development phase.

“I really liked the message of what they want to do with their program,” Schott said. “The main message is they really want to start building a relationship with me.”

Schott says he needs to do more research before determining where the Gators stand in his recruitment. He has several SEC offers, including Kentucky, Missouri and Texas A&M.

Florida last hosted Schott in the spring and the expectation is to get him back on campus in the coming months. No dates are set just yet, though.

Schott is a consensus four-star recruit, who is ranked the highest by On3 at No. 99 overall in the class of 2025. The On3 industry ranking, which considers all four major services, puts him at No. 174 overall and No. 9 among tight ends in his class.

Florida offers Lone Star State CB, among top schools considered

This coveted Texas product is high on the Orange and Blue after receiving a scholarship offer.

Billy Napier and Co. have been putting out their feelers into one of the biggest reservoirs of high school football talent of late, sending out dozens of offers to Texas products in recent days.

Among those with a potential scholarship extended is three-star cornerback [autotag]Caleb Chester[/autotag] out of Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Marshall, who is an up-and-coming talent in the 2025 recruiting cycle. The 6-foot-2-inch, 175-pound defender hails from the same school as former Gators defensive back Avery Helm, who is now with the TCU Horned Frogs.

The high school junior made 21 tackles while breaking up eight passes in 13 targeted throws in 2023. Chester will have a chance to build on those numbers this coming fall to help boost his stock.

The Lone Star State product has already caught the attention of a handful of major college football programs, including the Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Oregon Ducks, Texas A&M Aggies, Tennessee Volunteers, Auburn Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks, among others. Despite the thick competition, the Orange and Blue seem to have a decent shot.

“I’ll most definitely say (the Gators) are top 10 for sure,” Chester told Swamp Online. However, the program would greatly benefit from a visit as familiarity between the two parties appears to be pretty low.

“I know the environment gets real crazy in the Swamp and that a former player from my school played for the Gators,” he noted. “I don’t really know too much about (Florida) to be honest.”

Chester is ranked No. 541 overall and No. 53 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite while the Rivals has him at No. 37 at his position and No. 80 in the state of Texas. Both On3 and Rivals strongly favor the Longhorns to acquire his talents.

Four-star defensive back receives offer from Florida Gators

The Florida Gators sent an official scholarship offer to a 4-star safety following campus visit on Jan. 20.

The Florida football program is off to a hot start when it comes to recruiting the class of 2025 and the team just sent an offer to one of the top defensive backs in the nation.

Four-star safety [autotag]Amari Wallace[/autotag] took some time to visit the Florida campus during junior day three Saturdays ago and now has a scholarship offer on the table from the Gators.

Wallace talked with reporters at Swamp247 to detail his recent visit to Gainesville and what he went over while hanging with Gators defensive backs coach Will Harris.

“Coach Will Harris, I went up there Jan. 20 and we had a good communication, we were in the film room breaking down film,” Wallace said. “I was telling him some of the stuff he does there we do at Central, and when I get to a college facility, I’ll already be ahead of the game.”

Wallace was also blown away by the non-athletic aspects of Florida, taking a tour of campus and realizing how education takes a high spot on the priority list for student-athletes.

“I thought they were all about school and education first, because without education, you won’t be nothing inside the world right now, because some people, they say Florida Gators may not be an educational school, but they showed me,” Wallace said. “They have over 200 tutors who will help you with your work, and with anything you need, they’ll help you.”

Wallace is a four-star safety from Miami, Florida, ranking at No. 45 overall, according to 247Sports, and is ranked at No. 7 for safeties across the nation.

Four-star 2025 QB prospect leaves first Swamp visit with offer

Florida hosted four-star quarterback Keelon Russell on campus for the first time over the weekend and impressed the SMU commit.

The Florida Gators hosted SMU quarterback commit Keelon Russell on Saturday, and he left town with an offer in hand and a lot to think about, according to Swamp247’s Blake Alderman.

“I enjoyed my time,” Russell said. “… They gave me a big lift and sparked a spot to where I think this could be a place that heavily recruits me.”

Despite his commitment, it is clear that Russell is leaving the door open for any team that wants to make a strong push for him. The Gators appear to be a potential suitor with Billy Napier presenting Russell with an offer at the end of the visit.

Russell called it a “wow moment” for him and a “dream come true” before admitting that Florida jumped into his top two or three at the moment.

While he didn’t give a date, Russell expects to return to Gainesville soon. Spring camp is the next opportunity for recruits to stop by the Swamp.

Rusell has earned a fourth star everywhere besides 247Sports in the 2025 recruiting cycle. He is No. 247 overall on the On3 industry ranking, which considers all four major services.

Florida set to host tight end target after presenting offer

Florida will host three-star Lehi (Utah) tight end Bear Tenney this weekend for the Gators’ final junior day of the January contact period.

The latest name added to Florida’s visitors list for Saturday is Lehi (Utah) tight ends [autotag]Bear Tenney[/autotag], according to Swamp 247.

Florida offered Tenney back in December, but it’s taken until now to get him on campus. He’s picked up over two dozen offers making him one of the more sought-after tight ends in the class.

“I’ve had a great relationship with Coach, Billy Napier, and Coach Callaway! They’ve kept up with me every week since they’ve been there. Can’t wait for the visit.”

Tenney has been to Oregon and Texas so far this month, and he’s mentioned that he could be nearing a decision. With no timeline in place, Florida’s recruiting staff must act quickly to secure a commitment from him.

Tenney is a consensus three-star recruit ranked the highest by Rivals.com at No. 24 among tight ends in the class of 2025. The On3 industry ranking, which uses a weighted average of all four major services, puts him at No. 538 overall in the class and No. 28 at his position.

Florida near the top for this DL target after receiving offer

After picking up an offer from the Florida Gators over the weekend, defensive lineman Amir Leonard-Jean Charles says UF is in his top five.

It was another busy weekend at The Swamp, but Billy Napier and his recruiting staff’s efforts have paid off for at least one recruiting target that was in town.

Lipscomb Academy (Mount Juliet, Tennessee) defensive lineman [autotag]Amir Leonard-Jean Charles[/autotag] was one of the many visitors, and he left Gainesville with an offer in hand. The visit went so well that Florida immediately shot to the top of the pack for Charles, according to Swamp247.

One of the main connections Charles made was with Florida’s new defensive line coach, Gerald Chatman, who is the one who offered him over the weekend.

“I told Coach Chat they are for sure going to be in my top five, maybe even top three,” Charles said. “That is where they stand in my recruitment. They are going to be in there for sure. I have watched Florida for a long time. It’s one of my dream schools.”

Florida isn’t the only SEC school interested in Charles, though. He’ll be at Tennessee over the weekend and is planning more visits for the spring. Official visits should come during the summer.

Charles is a three-star recruit on the On3 industry ranking, but Rivals.com is a bit more bullish on him and lists him as a three-star. This could be another good evaluation by Billy Napier that sees his ranking increase over his senior year.

Michigan football trying to make in-roads at powerhouse high school in SEC country with latest offer

#Michigan has gotta get more players out of this school. #GoBlue

Michigan football did have one 2025 recruit from Buford (Ga.) committed in four-star linebacker Mantrez Walker, the second commit of the class at the time of his pledge. Walker has since backed off his pledge (as had first commit, cornerback Chris Ewald from Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade-Madonna Prep) but the Wolverines aren’t sitting idle trying to get elite players from the powerhouse high school.

On Wednesday, the maize and blue offered a rising star in Hayden Bradley, a 6-foot-5, 220-pound tight end who is currently unrated by the recruiting services. The Wolverines were one of four big-time schools to offer Bradley on Wednesday.

Bradley has offers from Oregon, Texas A&M, Indiana, Florida, Colorado, Duke, Miami (Fla.), Penn State, South Carolina, Utah, and others.

Michigan has had a lot of luck in recent years bringing in top-level tight ends, having had Mackey Award-winner Jake Butt, second-round draft pick Luke Schoonmaker, and likely to be national star Colston Loveland, who is entering his junior season in 2024. Certainly, playing in the Michigan offense is attractive to high-level tight ends, so we’ll see how much this offer moves the needle for Bradley, despite the distance.

Michigan football offers rising-star brother of 2024 signee

Interesting offer! #GoBlue

Perhaps one of the most underrated signees of the 2024 recruiting cycle is defensive tackle Owen Wafle, who flipped last year from his commitment to Notre Dame. Wafle is the quintessential ‘football guy’ and quickly became a fan favorite soon after signing day when a video surfaced showing him making an impressive tackle in a high school game.

And perhaps he won’t be the only Wafle to end up in Ann Arbor.

On Tuesday, as Michigan football continues to put out offers despite the uncertainty with head coach Jim Harbaugh interviewing for NFL jobs, and one was extended to Luke Wafle, Owen’s younger brother.

A 2026 Princeton (N.J.) Hun School four-star edge rusher, Luke Wafle is listed at 6-foot-4, 230 pounds, and is the No. 92 player in the country, regardless of position, according to 247Sports. He already has offers from Duke, Boston College, Illinois, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pitt, Rutgers, and West Virginia.

Michigan has had a lot of success getting legacy prospects, including Ronnie and Kendrick Bell, Christopher and Myles Hinton, James and Josh Ross, and others.

Florida football ‘at the top’ for this legacy wide receiver recruit

The Florida Gators have offered a scholarship to legacy recruit CJ Ingram, the son of former UF tight end Cornelius Ingram.

Growing up, [autotag]CJ Ingram[/autotag] had little choice but to rep the Orange and Blue.

His dad, Cornelius, played for the Gators from 2005-2008, which meant CJ was a Gator through and through. Now a junior in high school, Ingram is getting the chance to truly follow in his father’s footsteps as he receives an offer from Billy Napier’s program, according to 247Sports’ Donovan Keiser.

Both Napier and wide receivers coach Billy Gonzalez have stopped by Hawthorne High to see Ingram at practice. He plays quarterback for the Hornets, but Florida is offering him as a receiver.

Despite the position change request, Ingram says that Florida is in a very good position with him.

“I mean, as of right now, it is my highest conference offer,” Ingram said. “Just be able to stay home and be around my family and have the option as well to play football in front of my family; they’re definitely at the top of my list.”

Ingram is also close with former Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson. The Indianapolis Colts star has encouraged Ingram to play at Florida under Napier.

It’s unclear whether the Gators will get him in town for a junior day, but there are still a few weeks left in the contact period to make that happen.

Ingram is unranked by all four major recruiting services right now.
