2023 RBC Heritage odds, course history and expert picks to win

Let’s grab a winner in Hilton Head.

The week after the Masters is usually a letdown, but thanks to the new designated events on the PGA Tour, the RBC Heritage field is loaded.

World No. 1 and Augusta National champion Jon Rahm leads the way in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, as he’s joined by Scottie Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay, last year’s RBC Heritage winner Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa.

Rory McIlroy, who disappointedly missed the cut last week in Georgia, withdrew from the event Monday. In one start at Harbour Town Golf Links, McIlroy finished T-41. Will Zalatoris, who was originally in the field, had season-ending back surgery after withdrawing from the Masters. Jason Day withdrew Sunday after finishing the year’s first major with an 80.

Commanders’ latest odds to win the NFC East, conference and Super Bowl

Can the Commanders make the playoffs — or more — in 2023?

Ron Rivera is entering the fourth season of his tenure as head coach of the Washington Commanders. In his first three seasons, Rivera has a record of 22-27-1, never winning more than eight games. Even if Washington wasn’t in the middle of an ownership change, Rivera understands he needs to win in 2023.

Washington almost made the playoffs last season, controlling its destiny until a Week 17 collapse against the Cleveland Browns eliminated the Commanders from postseason contention. A big reason for Washington’s issues was the offense.

So, instead of making drastic changes to a talented unit of playmakers, the Commanders fired former offensive coordinator Scott Turner and hired Eric Bieniemy away from the Kansas City Chiefs to replace him. Unlike his five years as Kansas City’s O.C., this is Bieniemy’s show.

Washington’s quarterback in 2023 will either be youngster Sam Howell or Jacoby Brissett. Will that be enough for the Commanders to make the playoffs?

DraftKings Sportsbook recently released odds for each NFL team’s chances to win the division, conference and Super Bowl. What are Washington’s chances of winning the division — and more — in 2023?

  • NFC East: +900 [last among the four teams]
  • NFC: +2500
  • Super Bowl: +6000
  • To make the playoffs: Yes [+270], No [-360]

No surprise, Washington’s odds aren’t great for 2023. But if Howell proves to be the guy, the Commanders have a chance to be good. That’s a lot of ifs, but certainly not impossible.

Two-horse race?: After Day 2, here’s an updated look at the betting odds heading into the weekend at the 2023 Masters

Can anyone catch Brooks Koepka?

After the shortest delay in tournament history earlier in the afternoon, play was officially suspended for the day at the 2023 Masters at 4:22 p.m. ET.

Winds hit Augusta National Friday, even causing trees to fall near the 16th and 17th holes.

After Day 2, Brooks Koepka (12 under) holds a three-shot lead over Jon Rahm (9 under). While Koepka went off early Friday and completed his round, Rahm was on the 10th green when play halted.

Sportsbooks seem to think this a two-horse race, dubbing Koepka and Rahm the clear betting favorites.

It wouldn’t be Masters week without a few prop bets. Here are 5 of our favorites including a Jordan Spieth/Max Homa/Jason Day parlay

Let’s hammer a few props.

After months of build-up, after months of anticipation, the opening round of the 2023 Masters is less than 24 hours away. The gates of Magnolia Lane are open, and the best players in the world have migrated to Augusta, Georgia, where they’ll battle for the most coveted prize in all of golf: the green jacket.

World No. 1 and defending champion at Augusta National Golf Club, Scottie Scheffler, is the betting favorite at +650. Rory McIlroy is +750 while third-ranked Jon Rahm is next in line at +850.

One of the best parts of Masters week is the lengthy list of prop bets available at most sportsbooks, including DraftKings.

Let’s go over some of our favorites and cover why they would make great additions to your betting card.

2023 Masters odds, course history and picks to win: Can Max Homa claim his first major championship?

Max Homa tied for 48th at last year’s Masters.

Azaleas are in full bloom, the grass is greener than envy and the best players in the world have made their way to Augusta, Georgia. It all means one thing: It’s almost time for the Masters.

The 2023 edition is less than 48 hours away, and the field is in full-preparation mode. Defending champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler enters the week as the co-betting favorite at 7/1 with Rory McIlroy. With a win, McIlroy would become the sixth player to earn the career grand slam.

Nipping at their heels is No. 3 Jon Rahm at 9/1. The Spaniard comes into the week a bit under the radar due to his withdrawal from the Players Championship and subpar performance at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

Masters: Cameron DaSilva’s picks

Tiger Woods, who already has a PGA Tour start under his belt this season (T-45, Genesis Invitational), returns to ANGC looking for his sixth green jacket. He spent Monday playing alongside Fred Couples, Rory McIlroy and Tom Kim.

Notable statistic

  • According to Ron Klos, a statistician, the last 11 winners of the Masters had gained at least 18 total strokes tee-to-green in the four events prior to their win at ANGC. There are fourteen players in the field this week who check that box: Scheffler, Patrick Cantlay, McIlroy, Jordan Spieth, Viktor Hovland, Shane Lowry, Jason Day, Jon Rahm, Tony Finau, Max Homa, Tommy Fleetwood, Tyrrell Hatton, Gary Woodland and Justin Thomas.

Saints win total for 2023 set at 9.5, best in the NFC South

The New Orleans Saints win total for 2023 has been set at 9.5, ranking best in the NFC South:

How many games do you see the New Orleans Saints winning in 2023? Draft Kings Sportsbook has set win totals for every NFL team, with the Saints over/under established at 9.5. So if you took the over at odds of +105, a $100 wager could turn into a $205 payout (a $105 profit), while the same bet on the under at odds of -125 returns $180 (a profit of $80).

The Saints are coming off of 7- and 9-win seasons the last two years, so it’s understandable that oddsmakers aren’t too bullish on them given the state of the team. Dennis Allen is still their head coach and Pete Carmichael is still running their offense, even if they both have more faith in Derek Carr at quarterback than the passers who have started games as of late.

But the Saints do have the best win total around the NFC South. The Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons are both set at 7.5, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are just behind at 6.5. That illustrates the window the Saints currently have to run away with the division, but things may change if whichever quarterback Carolina drafts first overall hits the ground running.

2023 Masters: Odds for every player in the field at Augusta National Golf Club

Who’s your pick?

The 2023 edition of the Masters is on the horizon as the gates of Augusta National Golf Club open to patrons once again in a few days.

World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler returns as the defending champion and is once again entering the year’s first major in great form. In 2022, Scheffler had three victories coming into the Masters. In ’23, he has two, including the Players Championship.

It’s easy to see why he’s the betting favorite.

The next few names on the odds list shouldn’t surprise you. Jon Rahm, the third-ranked golfer in the Official World Golf Ranking, is on Scheffler’s heels, and Rory McIlroy, the man who needs a green jacket to compete the career grand slam, is No. 2 in the world and No. 2 on this list.

2023 Valero Texas Open odds, course history and picks to win: Can Rickie Fowler earn a spot in the Masters?

Fowler finished inside the top 20 at the Valero in ’19 and ’21.

One last stop before the year’s first major: the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio in Texas.

Many of the world’s best players are taking the week off in preparation for the Masters, however, there’s one superstar in the Lone Star State looking to earn his invitation to Augusta.

Rickie Fowler.

The 34-year-old’s game has come alive in 2023, grabbing three top-20 finishes in his last four stroke-play events. Last week at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, Fowler needed an appearance in the quarterfinals to earn a spot in the Masters. He failed to advance from pool play.

Due to the March 27th Official World Golf Ranking point cutoff, Fowler needs a win at TPC San Antonio to qualify for next week’s field.

Updated national championship odds entering the Elite Eight

Texas and UCONN are national title favorites.

Just eight teams remain in the hunt for a national title heading into Saturday. For the first time in the history of the NCAA Tournament, zero No. 1 seeds have advanced past the Sweet 16.

Top-seeded Alabama fell to San Diego State 71-64 in the upset of the weekend. The Aztecs held Alabama star Brandon Miller to just nine points in the win.

Fellow No. 1 seed Houston lost to Miami just a couple hours later as the final one seed domino to fall. Miami’s outside shooting was too much for Houston’s normally stingy defense to handle.

Texas is now the highest ranked team remaining in the tournament after dismantling Xavier. The Longhorns join Kansas State in representing the Big 12 in the Elite Eight.

Other intriguing storylines included Creighton ending Princeton’s cinderella story, Gonzaga hitting a late t
hree-pointer to beat UCLA and FAU upsetting Tennessee.

Here is a complete look at the updated national title odds entering the Elite Eight according to BetMGM.
