With just five days until the annual Oklahoma football spring game, it appears the Sooners will have one less wide receiver on the team moving forward.
Former Marshall transfer wide out Obi Obialo is no longer listed on the team’s official online roster, as first noted by OU Insider.
Wide receiver Obi Obialo, who entered the 2020 campaign listed as a starter before battling injury for much of the season, has been removed from the #Sooners' active roster just five days before the spring game. ⬇️https://t.co/aEj1qPyAki

Obialo began his career with Oklahoma State in 2016 before transferring to Marshall prior to the 2017 season. Then, he made the move to Norman after the 2019 season. Originally seen as someone who could help provide some receiver depth, he never was able to have an impact last season with the Sooners not recording a single catch.
It is unclear at this time what exactly Obialo being removed from the roster means, but it can most likely be safely assumed he is no longer with the team at the very least for the time being. Sooners Wire will provide updates on his status as more information becomes available.
