Analyzing Thursday’s Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns Game 6 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets take a 3-2 series lead in the Western Conference semifinals into Game 6 against Phoenix Suns Thursday. Tip-off from Footprint Center is at 10 p.m. ET (ESPN). The Nuggets won Game 5 118-102 on Tuesday as C Nikola Jokic posted a triple-double with 29 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. Denver has won all 3 of their home games in the series.

The Suns’ 2 wins in the series were in Games 3 and 4 in Phoenix. After G Devin Booker and F Kevin Durant combined for 86 points in Game 3 and 72 in Game 4, they scored only a combined 54 in the Game 5 loss.

Nuggets at Suns picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 125, Nuggets 119

Moneyline

In 9 matchups between the Suns and Nuggets between the regular season and postseason, the home team has won every game.

The Nuggets have not won a game in Phoenix since October 2021.

The Suns have averaged 123.0 points per game in their last 3 home games against the Nuggets.

Phoenix (-160) will push the series to Game 7 but it should win by margin so there is no need to pay the extra juice with the moneyline.

PASS.

Against the spread

With only a 3.5-point spread, it shouldn’t be too difficult for the winner to cover on Thursday. Every game in this series has been decided by at least 5 points.

The outright winner has covered the spread in all 5 games.

BET SUNS -3.5 (-105).

Over/Under

Game 5 had the Under hit but the 2 games in Phoenix this series have had totals of at least 235 points.

The winner has scored at least 118 points in every game except Game 2.

Four of the Suns’ last 5 games at home have had totals higher than tonight’s projection.

BET OVER 226.5 (-110).

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns Game 4 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns Game 4 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets take on the Phoenix Suns in Game 4 of their Western Conference semifinals series Sunday. Denver leads the series 2-1. Tip-off at Footprint Center is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Nuggets vs. Suns odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Nuggets lost 121-114 Friday in Game 3 as they failed to cover as 4-point underdogs despite C Nikola Jokic producing 30 points, 17 rebounds, and 17 assists. Denver had won 3 consecutive playoff games before the loss.

The Suns got 39 points from F Kevin Durant and 47 points from G Devin Booker in Friday’s much-needed victory as they try to get back in the series after losing 2 games in Denver. The rest of Phoenix’s roster contributed only 35 points as G Chris Paul was sidelined with a groin injury.

Back the SUNS (-145) at home in Sunday’s playoff matchup as they look to avoid falling in a 3-1 hole in the series. The Suns are 31-14 at home this season — including the playoffs — compared to the Nuggets’ 20-24 record on the road.

Against the spread

SUNS -2.5 (-110) is the lean in this showdown with Phoenix hoping to even the series Sunday. I’m expecting stellar performances from Durant and Booker again, while the other contributors on the Suns will perform better.

Over/Under

BET OVER 227.5 (-110).

Both of these teams are capable of scoring points in bunches as the Suns seemingly play at a slightly faster pace with Paul sidelined. The Nuggets are 5-1-1 to the Over in their last 7 games and the Suns are 5-0-1 in the last 6 home games.

The Over is also 12-4 in the last 16 meetings in Phoenix.

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns Game 3 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns Game 3 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets visit the Phoenix Suns meet Friday for the 3rd game of their Western Conference semifinals series. The Nuggets lead 2-0. Tip-off at Footprint Center is at 10 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Nuggets vs. Suns odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Nuggets pulled away late for a 97-87 win Monday in Game 2 after blowing out the Suns 125-107 in the series opener Saturday. C Nikola Jokic is averaging 31.5 points, 17.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game to start the series.

The Suns have struggled to score this series. The Suns got just 14 points outside of G Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton and F Kevin Durant in Game 2. Things won’t get any easier as G Chris Paul was injured as is expected to miss at least a week.

Prediction

Suns 109, Nuggets 106

Moneyline

The Suns must win this game to have any shot to get back in the series but Paul being sidelined will make things difficult.

The Nuggets won by 10 in Game 2 with G Jamal Murray shooting only 3-for-15.

The Suns are 30-14 at home this season (including the playoffs) and the home team has won the last 6 matchups between these teams. The Nuggets are only 20-23 on the road, including the postseason.

Expect a Suns bounce-back win, but the moneyline is too steep to play considering this should be a tight game.

PASS.

Against the spread

The Nuggets have covered the spread in 5 straight games against the Suns. They are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

The Suns are only 3-7 ATS in their last 10.

Expect a close game that goes down to the final buzzer.

BET NUGGETS +4.5 (-115).

Over/Under

Neither game in this series has reached 225 points.

Only 1 of the last 5 matchups between them has reached 225 or more.

Five of the Nuggets’ 7 postseason games have stayed below 225 total points.

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets (51-25) face the Phoenix Suns (41-35) on Friday at Footprint Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 10:30 p.m. ET (NBA TV). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Nuggets vs. Suns odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The Nuggets lost to the New Orleans Pelicans 107-88 on Thursday and failed to cover as 1.5-point home favorites. Denver is 3 games ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.

The Suns covered as 6-point home favorites in Wednesday’s 107-100 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. Phoenix is half a game ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers for the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference.

This will be the third season meeting between Denver and Phoenix. The Nuggets have won each of the first two meetings straight up, although they’ve split against the spread, and the Over/Under is 1-1.

AVOID.

Even with the Suns (-425) at full health, taking them to win on Friday isn’t worth the risk. You shouldn’t risk more than 4 times your potential return against the Western Conference-leading Nuggets.

Against the spread

SUNS -10.5 (-105) is how I’d bet on the spread with the uncertainty surrounding the starters on the Nuggets. Denver is on the 2nd leg of a back-to-back and early reports indicate that C Nikola Jokic is questionable after missing Thursday’s contest and G Jamal Murray is unlikely to play.

The Suns are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following an ATS win and the Nuggets are 2-7 ATS in the last 9 meetings.

Over/Under

OVER 226.5 (-108) looks like a solid bet with the Suns having F Kevin Durant back in the lineup. Both of these teams are top 12 in offensive rating.

The Suns are 9-3-1 to the Over in their last 13 games overall and the Over is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings in Phoenix.

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Denver Nuggets (9-7) meet the Phoenix Suns (12-3) for an 8 p.m. ET tip-off at Footprint Center Sunday. Below, we look at the Bulls vs. Nuggets odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions, and bets.

Denver is a loser of three in a row to the Dallas Mavericks, Philadelphia 76ers and Chicago Bulls following a five-game winning streak. The Nuggets are 7-9 ATS and 5-11 O/U with the ninth-best net rating (plus-2.5). Denver big Nikola Jokic leads the NBA in PER and Win Shares per 48 Minutes.

Phoenix enters on an 11-game winning streak with the last two coming in a home back-to-back against the Mavericks. The Suns excel in defense (ranked third in defensive rating) and ball security (second in assist-to-turnover rate). Phoenix is 8-7 ATS and 5-10 O/U with the fifth-best net rating (plus-5.3).

The Nuggets hammered the Suns 110-98 as 6-point road underdogs in each team’s season opener. However, Phoenix did sweep Denver (4-0 ATS) in their Western Conference Semifinals playoff series last season.

Prediction

Suns 113, Nuggets 104

Money line

PASS since Phoenix is the right side but the Suns (-320) is way too expensive for any NBA regular-season favorite especially when playing a team who is top-10 in net efficiency.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the SUNS -7.5 (-112) because Phoenix’s pick-and-roll offense is too much for Denver.

For instance, Phoenix grades in the 96.6 percentile of the NBA in pick-and-roll offensive efficiency through the “roll man” and the Suns run that play type at the second-highest frequency.

On the other hand, Denver’s defensive efficiency vs. pick-and-roll action through the “roll man” grades in the 24.1 percentile.

Furthermore, Phoenix has two long bigs to throw out Jokic whenever he’s on the court. Not only is Suns big Deandre Ayton an up-and-coming star who played very well against Jokic in the playoffs last year. But, Phoenix backup big JaVale McGee is one of the best backup centers in the Association.

Also, Porter played in the first Nuggets-Suns meeting this season and Denver will miss his ability to space the floor with his 3-point shooting, especially Jokic who loves to hit wide-open shooters when defenses collapse on him.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 208.5 (-115) because Phoenix’s offense plays at the fourth-highest pace in the NBA and Denver’s transition offense is pretty efficient. If the Nuggets are forced to speed up the tempo then Denver should do its part in pushing this game Over the total.

Additionally, if Phoenix finds success running its pick-and-roll action it’s going to free up wide-open looks for forwards Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder. And, as we already discussed, the Suns should knife through Denver’s flimsy pick-and-roll defense.

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Phoenix Suns host the Denver Nuggets Wednesday at  Footprint Center for both teams’ regular-season openers. Tip-off is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Nuggets vs. Suns odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Denver’s season ended last year after being swept in the Western Conference Semifinals by Phoenix. The Nuggets failed to cover the spread in their four series losses to the Suns but were 2-1 overall and against the spread (ATS) vs. Phoenix in the regular season.

The Nuggets ended the regular season third place in the West and finished the season 51-31 overall record (38-44 ATS), which includes the postseason.

The Suns are running it back with the same team that finished second in the Western Conference last season with a 65-29 overall record (55-38-1 ATS), which includes the postseason.

Last year was Chris Paul‘s first with Phoenix and the Suns were beat by the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Finals, 4-2.

Nuggets at Suns odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Suns 119, Nuggets 109

Money line

PASS even though Phoenix is the right side because the Suns (-260) is a little out of my price range for an NBA regular-season favorite.

Denver’s matchup issues in the backcourt against Phoenix in their playoff series persist. The Nuggets are still without Murray and his backup — PG Monte Morris — can’t guard CP3. I’d expect Paul is going to work C Nikola Jokic and the rest of Denver’s bigs in pick-and-roll action just like in the playoffs.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the SUNS -6.5 (-105) for a half unit since their offense knifed through Denver’s defense and there’s no reason for Phoenix to not have similar success in this meeting.

The Suns were 30-17 ATS at home and 28-14 ATS as home favorites last season (including the playoffs). On the other hand, Denver was just 20-21 ATS on the road and 6-9 ATS as a road underdog, including the postseason.

Furthermore, according to CleaningTheGlass.com, Phoenix was 17-7 overall vs. teams top-10 in net points per 100 possessions with a plus-3.5-point differential last season. While Denver was 12-12 overall with a minus-1.4-point differential against teams top-10 in net points per 100 possessions.

Over/Under

“LEAN” to the OVER 224.5 (-108) for a half unit because there’s a “line freeze” in the betting market that’s concerning. More than 80% of the action is on the Over according to pregame.com, but the total hasn’t budged since the opener.

Phoenix averaged 121.5 points per game in the Western Conference Semifinals series vs. Denver. Also, the winning side in the Nuggets-Suns meetings last year has scored at least 116 points in six of the seven contests.

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns NBA betting odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Denver Nuggets (8-7) visit the Phoenix Suns (8-6) Saturday for the second night in a row. Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Nuggets-Suns NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Denver rallied back from a 14-point, first-half deficit Friday for a 130-126 overtime victory over the Suns as a 1-point road underdog. There was an awesome battle of bigs with Nuggets’ All-Star C Nikola Jokic matched up against Suns C Deandre Ayton, the No. 1 overall pick of the 2018 NBA Draft.

Joker nearly posted a triple-double, scoring 31 points with 10 rebounds and 8 assists, while Ayton scored 27 points on 11-for-13 shooting with 13 rebounds. The major storyline for the Suns was their leading-scorer Devin Booker exiting the game in overtime with an injured hamstring and he will be sidelined for Saturday’s rematch.

The season series with these two teams is 1-1 (straight-up and against the spread) with the road team prevailing in each game.

Nuggets at Suns: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Nuggets 116, Suns 104

Money line (ML)

I wrote before Friday’s game that “Phoenix’s defense is a little overrated.” Denver would score 130 points, but the score was eight points above the total heading into overtime.

If things go right early for the Suns Saturday, they have the chance to control the tempo of the game, which is their path to victory. The loss of Booker makes it difficult for Phoenix to win if this turns into a shootout.

Not only does Booker’s absence ding the offense, but the gravitational pull Booker’s offense commands will also make it tougher for Phoenix SF Mikal Bridges to get quality looks.

It’s a lot to ask of the Phoenix role players to make up for the loss of Booker, especially against a Nuggets team that that needs to stack wins in a competitive West.

lean NUGGETS (-135) only because the Nuggets’ money line is reaching my personal maximum. If it goes up any more, I’d rather bet Nuggets to cover the spread at reduced vig.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS with a lean on Nuggets -2.5 (-110) because if Denver’s money line gets pricier than -150, I’d prefer to lay the points with the Nuggets.

Over/Under (O/U)

Since I think Phoenix’s defense is overrated, and Denver’s offense is third in offensive rating and eighth in effective field-goal shooting, I’m on the OVER 215.5 (-110) for a bite-sized wager. However, both of these teams are in the bottom-5 in pace of play, so if Denver has an off-night shooting, this game will go Under.

Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Friday’s Denver Nuggets at Phoenix Suns NBA betting odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Denver Nuggets (7-7) visit the Phoenix Suns (8-5) at their self-titled arena for a 10 p.m. ET tip-off Friday. Below, we analyze the Nuggets-Suns NBA odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Denver has been pretty inconsistent over the past two weeks. The Nuggets have alternated wins and losses in their last five games (3-2 ATS), which includes a 119-101 win as 10-point home favorites Tuesday.

If you’re paying attention to the NBA this season, hopefully, you’ve noticed the legitimacy of All-Star Nuggets C Nikola Jokic’s MVP candidacy through the first month. Jokic is averaging a triple-double with 25.1 points, 11.4 rebounds and 10 assists per game (all Denver team highs).

The Suns acquiring future Hall of Fame PG Chris Paul this offseason has taken Phoenix from a probable postseason play-in tournament contender to a team with a chance at hosting a playoff series in the first round.

Paul is fifth in the NBA in assists per game (8.2) and Paul’s floor general capabilities have helped C Deandre Ayton shoot the 13th-highest field-goal percentage (57.8%) in the league, SF Mikal Bridges get the eighth-best offensive rating (132.4) and SG Devin Booker lead the Suns in scoring (22.2 PPG).

Like Denver, the Suns have been inconsistent recently, going 2-3 straight-up (2-3 ATS) in their previous five games. Phoenix’s 106-103 win in Denver New Year’s Day snapped a five-game losing streak (3-2 ATS) to the Nuggets.

GIMME NUGGETS (+105) for 1 unit. Even though the Suns have a better record, the Nuggets rank higher in net rating this season and Phoenix’s defense is a little overrated.

While the Suns rank fifth in opponent’s points per game, that’s more of a result of their 28th-ranked pace of play and slowing the tempo down helps Phoenix set up its half-court defense. The Suns are 18th in opponent’s field-goal shooting, 12th in defensive rating and 24th in opponent’s free throw per field-goal attempt rate.

Also, Phoenix is a net negative in rebounds per game whereas Denver is a net positive. Finally, most of the Nuggets stunk it up in their first game against Phoenix and I anticipate a bounce-back performance from several of Denver’s role players.

Against the spread (ATS)

PASS ON THE SPREAD. Denver isn’t getting enough points to validate buying insurance for the Nuggets money line.

Over/Under (O/U)

Against my better judgment, I’ll follow the money and I lean OVER 219.5 (-110) for a quarter-unit. According to Pregame.com, nearly 80% of the money is on the Over, steaming it up from the 218.5-point opener.

Like I said above, my read is that Phoenix’s defense is a tad overrated and we’ll get a better showing out of Denver than the first Nuggets-Suns game.
