Watch: Notre Dame safety Hamilton believes he’s the best player in NFL Draft

He probably isn’t wrong…

As the NFL Draft process continues, teams will make their evaluations on specific players and their drafts boards will start to sort themselves out. For many organizations, former Notre Dame star safety Kyle Hamilton will be near the top of many teams boards.

Although only a few teams will have the chance to select Hamilton, he believes that he’s the best player in the draft. It’s not a cocky statement that the safety made, it’s much more of a confident one. That is something that you need to be a successful athlete, or really at anything you do.

For Hamilton, he might be correct, only time will tell if he turns out to be the best player in the draft. We are all excited to see where Hamilton gets the opportunity to play next.

Notre Dame releases results from Pro Day

On Wednesday, Notre Dame was the training ground for its now-former players with NFL aspirations.

On Wednesday, Notre Dame was the training ground for its now-former players with NFL aspirations. With representatives from many teams planning their draft strategy on hand, this was the time to make an impression. The Pro Day served as something of a substitute for the usual Scouting Combine that has become so highly regarded for NFL prospects and fans. Notre Dame has released the results from Pro Day, so here they are:

With Notre Dame having as great a season as it did in 2020, it’s no surprise that there was plenty of young talent for NFL teams to scout. Some players required more of a look than others. While Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah and Liam Eichenberg are sure to be selected in the first or second round, many more players needed to have a good showing to improve their chances. One notable example was Ian Book looking slightly better than Baker Mayfield did shortly before he was the top pick in 2018:

Obviously, that doesn’t mean Book is going to be the first selection of the 2021 draft. However, he and others undoubtedly went higher on the big boards of many coaches and scouts during this event. Here’s hoping that works pays off next month.

Watch: Aaron Banks pro day press conference

This great guard will certainly be missed in 2021

Aaron Banks was a star offensive guard at Notre Dame as he took home All-America honors in 2020.

As Notre Dame reworks their offensive line ahead of the 2021 season, Banks is now gone to the NFL where he figures to have a long career.  But what if he would have stayed at Notre Dame?

During his media availability ahead of Notre Dame pro day, Banks was asked about his decision to leave for the NFL versus what would have happened had he stayed and we found out that Banks was being offered the chance to offensive tackle in 2021.
