Broncos inactives: 6 players won’t play on ‘Monday Night Football’

Broncos inactives tonight: Zach Wilson, CB Riley Moss (knee), LB Drew Sanders, OL Nick Gargiulo, OT Frank Crum and DL Eyioma Uwazurike.

The Denver Broncos have announced their list of six inactive players for Monday’s showdown with the Cleveland Browns in Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season.

The Broncos’ inactive players today are quarterback Zach Wilson*, cornerback Riley Moss (knee), linebacker Drew Sanders, guard/center Nick Gargiulo, offensive tackle Frank Crum and defensive lineman Eyioma Uwazurike.

*Technically, Wilson is still available to play as the team’s emergency third-string quarterback behind starter Bo Nix and primary backup Jarrett Stidham, but he’s on the inactive list and does not count against the game-day roster. Wilson can play if both Nix and Stidham are injured.

With Moss sidelined, Levi Wallace is expected to start across from Pat Surtain as the team’s No. 2 cornerback. Ja’Quan McMillian plays in the slot.

With the exception of Wilson, these inactive players are members of the 53-man roster who are not eligible to play against the Browns. They will be reactivated on Tuesday.

Is Riley Moss playing today? Injury updates for Broncos CB

Broncos cornerback Riley Moss (knee) won’t play against the Browns tonight.

Denver Broncos second-year cornerback Riley Moss went down with a knee injury against the Las Vegas Raiders last week and he missed all three days of practice leading up to Monday Night Football against the Cleveland Browns in Week 13. Here’s the latest on his status.

Riley Moss injury update

Moss was ruled out on Saturday afternoon and he won’t suit up against the Browns on Monday. He is the only player on Denver’s injury report who did not practice in any capacity last week.

How long will Riley Moss be out?

After the Raiders game last week, Broncos coach Sean Payton said “there was some thought” that Moss could have returned to the game. Payton also said the injury “wasn’t really serious.” After hosting the Browns on Monday, Denver will have a bye in Week 14 before hosting the Indianapolis Colts in Week 15. That will give Moss an extra week to recover, so it seems possible that the cornerback could return in time to play against the Colts on Dec. 15.

Broncos cornerback depth chart

With Moss ruled out this week, Levi Wallace is expected to play as the team’s No. 2 cornerback across from Pat Surtain while Ja’Quan McMillian continues to play in the slot. The Broncos also have Damarri Mathis, Tremon Smith and Kris Abrams-Draine providing additional depth at cornerback.

Where do Falcons stand in NFC South after loss to Chargers?

Where do the Falcons stand in the NFC South after Sunday’s loss to the Chargers?

In a way, the Atlanta Falcons lost twice on Sunday. First, they turned the ball over four times in a 17-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers  The other loss was right down the road in Charlotte, where the Panthers fumbled their chance at upsetting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in overtime.

The Buccaneers have now tied the Falcons in the NFC South standings at 6-6. Atlanta is still technically on top due to the head-to-head tiebreaker. The New Orleans Saints lost to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13, dropping to 4-8 on the season.

NFC South standings: Week 14

Pos Team Record Divisional Record Next Opponent
1 Falcons 6-6 4-1 @ Vikings
2 Buccaneers 6-6 2-2 vs Raiders
3 Saints 4-8 2-3 @ Giants
4 Panthers 3-9 1-3 @ Eagles

All four teams have gone 2-3 over their last five games so it’s tough to imagine any of them running the table over the final five games. The Bucs have an easier schedule, but given the Falcons beat them twice, everything is up in the air.

The Falcons will travel to Minnesota to play the 10-2 Vikings in Week 14 while the Buccaneers host the Las Vegas Raiders at home. Carolina and New Orleans are essentially out of contention.

The Denver Broncos’ schedule continues today with a Monday Night Football home game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 13 of the 2024 NFL season.

Denver will play eight home games at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium this year and nine games on the road. Because the league has an unbalanced 17-game schedule, the NFC and AFC rotate between having an extra home game. This year, the NFC gets a ninth home game.

The Broncos are led by head coach Sean Payton with rookie Bo Nix serving as their starting quarterback this fall.

Giants open as 4-point home underdogs vs. Saints in Week 14

The New York Giants have opened as 4-point home underdogs against the New Orleans Saints in Week 14.

The New York Giants (2-10) have opened as 4-point underdogs for this Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints (4-8) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The over/under opened at 39.5 total points with the moneyline Saints -210, Giants +170, per BetMGM.

The Giants lost on Thanksgiving Day to the Cowboys in Dallas, 27-20, extending their losing streak to seven games on the season.

The Saints surrendered a two-game winning streak with a loss to the Los Angeles Rams at home, 21-14.

After opening the season with convincing wins over Carolina and Dallas (scoring a total of 91 points), New Orleans went on a seven-game losing streak before putting back-to-back wins together over Atlanta and Cleveland to raise their record to 4-7.

The Giants are 0-6 at home this season and are one loss away from tying the franchise record for most home losses in a season. The Saints are 1-4 on the road thus far in 2024.

The Giants are underdogs again for the 12th time this season and the 27th time in their last 28 games. They were favored by 6.5 points against Carolina in Munich in Week 10 and lost, 20-17, in overtime.

The Giants are 2-10 against the spread this season with eight of their 12 games going under the projected total.

This will be the fourth game this season in which the Saints have opened as favorites. They are 5-7 against the spread and seven of their 12 games have gone over the projected total.
