George Pickens injury update

On Sunday’s non-practice report, George Pickens was an estimated limited participant but practiced fully on Tuesday. Pickens has missed the last three matchups after injuring his hamstring during practice ahead of the Week 14 dust-up with the Cleveland Browns.

Joey Porter Jr. injury update

Joey Porter Jr. suffered a knee injury during Pittsburgh’s Week 16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. The injury occurred in the second half, forcing Porter to leave the game and not return. Porter will not likely recover in time for the quick turnaround on Christmas Day.

DeShon Elliott injury update

Pittsburgh’s secondary sorely missed DeShon Elliott’s presence in Weeks 15 and 16. Elliott is second only to Patrick Queen in tackles with 96, and the Steelers have missed a whopping 36 tackles since he injured his hamstring in the Week 14 victory over the Cleveland Browns.

Monday Night Football schedule: Is there a ‘ManningCast’ tonight?

There’s no ‘ManningCast’ for the Saints-Packers game tonight, but Peyton and Eli will return for a playoff game in January.

Peyton and Eli Manning have returned for a fourth season of the ManningCast with the two former quarterbacks set to provide commentary for 11 weeks of Monday Night Football games this fall.

The brothers released a funny 10-minute musical to promote the upcoming ManningCast season in September. The 2024 slate is now on a break as the regular season schedule has wrapped up for the ManningCast.

The program will return in the first round of the playoffs for a Wild Card game that will be televised on ESPN2, which is available to stream on fuboTV.

Peyton and Eli will welcome new guests on the program each week there is a ManningCast, and Bill Belichick will be featured on every episode this fall.

Falcons LB Arnold Ebiketie has message for Cooper Rush after Cowboys’ win over Buccaneers

The Atlanta Falcons received an early Christmas gift from the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday evening. After defeating the New York Giants, 34-7, the Falcons got to sit back and watch as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were upset by the Cowboys in prime time.

The Buccaneers dropped to 8-7, losing their division lead with two games left in the season. And just like that, Atlanta is back atop the NFC South.

While Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said he wouldn’t be watching Sunday night’s game, his players enjoyed every second. Falcons outside linebacker Arnold Ebiketie celebrated Dallas’ win by thanking Cowboys quarterback Cooper Rush on Twitter.

“Cooper Rush I appreciate you my boy,” posted Ebiketie.

Ebiektie, who’s been on a tear since the bye, recorded his fifth sack of the season during Sunday’s win over the Giants. The Falcons’ pass rush has come alive over the past month. After recording just 10 sacks in the first 11 games, Atlanta’s defense has racked up 16 sacks in its last four games.

“They’ve cracked the code,” Raheem Morris said about the defensive turnaround. The Falcons will need their pass rush to show up in order to defeat the Washington Commanders in Week 17.

Commanders rookie Jayden Daniels has lit up the league over his first 15 games, passing for 3,303 yards, 22 touchdowns and eight interceptions. The former LSU star is much tougher to bring down than Drew Lock or Desmond Ridder.

Sunday’s game starts at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.”

The Atlanta Falcons have to be happy with what they saw from rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr. in his first NFL start. While the numbers don’t jump out, Penix’s decisiveness, arm talent and pocket mobility were on display during Sunday’s 34-7 win over the New York Giants.

The Falcons were criticized for drafting Penix with the No. 8 overall pick after signing Kirk Cousins to a four-year $180 million contract, but the decision continues to look better as time goes by.
