Former University of Tennessee baseball player Nick Senzel went 1-for-4 for Cincinnati in its 7-6 loss to the defending World Series champion Atlanta Braves Friday at Truist Park.

Senzel is 2-for-8 with a double for Cincinnati (1-1) in the team’s first two games. He made two starts for the Reds in center field.

He played for the Volunteers for three seasons and was the No. 2 overall selection by the Reds in 2016 MLB draft.

Before playing for Tennessee, Senzel was an all-state standout at Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee.

During his time at Tennessee, Senzel finished his UT career with a .332 batting average, 196 hits, 126 RBIs, 13 home runs and 127 runs in 160 games from 2014-16.

The Los Angeles Angels defeated Cincinnati, 7-6, during spring training at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe, Arizona.

Senzel started in center field for the Reds and went 3-for-4.

Senzel played for Tennessee from 2014-16. He led the Southeastern Conference with 25 doubles and was nominated for the Golden Spikes Award in 2016.

Senzel was selected by Cincinnati with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 MLB draft. He made his Major League debut for the Reds in 2019.

He has a career batting average of .246, recording 15 home runs and 58 RBIs.

Senzel, an infielder and outfielder for the Cincinnati Reds, had surgery in late May to clean out cartilage in his left knee.

He was placed on the 10-day injured list earlier this month.

The Reds are hoping that Senzel can return to the lineup by late July as there is no immediate time table for his return.

Senzel, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 MLB draft, had a stellar three-year career for the Volunteers.

He was an all-state performer at Farragut High School in Farragut, Tennessee.

In 2021, Senzel is batting .252 with one home run and eight RBIs.

Senzel, who is in his third season with the Reds, was placed on the injured list Friday with left knee inflammation.

The former Volunteer and Farragut High School star has played at second base, third base and center field for Cincinnati this season.

He is hitting .252 with one home run, eight RBIs, two stolen bases, 18 runs and four doubles for the Reds (20-23), who are in fourth place in the National League Central Division.

Senzel was a first-round selection in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. He was taken by the Reds with the No. 2 overall selection.

Senzel left Tennessee after his junior season.

The former University of Tennessee baseball star and 2016 first-round pick for Cincinnati was 0-4 against the Brewers, as his season batting average has now dipped below .200

The former Vol is hitting .190 and is 1-for-20 since returning from a month-long stay on the injury list.

He has two home runs, eight runs batted in, two stolen bases, six doubles and seven runs scored.

Senzel hit 12 home runs and had 36 extra base hits as a rookie for the Reds in 2019.

He recently returned to Cincinnati’s active roster after an extended month-long stay on the injured list.

Senzel has appeared in four games since his return and is 1-for-12 at the plate.

The former Vol is now batting .211 with two home runs and eight runs batted in. He also has two stolen bases, six doubles and seven runs scored.

Senzel was a star for the University of Tennessee baseball team before being drafted by the Reds with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft.

He was an All-State performer during his prep days at Farragut High School.
